As I mentioned in an earlier episode, I also believe this is an entirely unique design. The 60 deg decision is quite pleasing aesthetically, and actually, quite sound from an engineering perspective. Well done!
I usually watch while relaxing with my Sunday morning coffee here in Canada, so I'm looking forward to the next episode.

I second your notion that is a unique design. None of the RBS sculptures that I have seen in the past have taken this approach for lifting the ball to the top of the sculpture.

Very cool! Love your use of geometry to not only make it functional but also very aesthetic.

Thank you Bob. I’m also so pleased with the look so far. I kind of knew it would be geometric, but those central supports are verging on delightful!!!

Thanks Kate. I have some ideas for finishing, but they will probably all change as the build progresses.

Hi, Thanks so much for you comment. I just spent a bit of time reading about φ and Phi and Golden Ratios. This probably means that when I start to design RBS6, I will want to include them on purpose! :)

It looks unique to me. Love the video. And especially your idea about covering the base with paper. Bravo.

Love your videos! Making the supports angled was smart. Great work.

There is something 'Golden Ratio-y' about your layout that is so pleasing to the eye, although I can't quite put my finger on it.
Perhaps an arch to support the 60 degree outer track uprights across the narrow part so the mirrored symmetry is continued? Roll on Episode 6!

Watching your work has been very inspiring. Thank you for giving the world a gimpse of your passion. Wondering if you have considered making a marble clock?

Hi, I’ve love marble clocks. They are amazing. Bit I’ve not got plans to make one at the moment.

I have to say, the youtube algorithm really blessed me with your channel, instantly hooked!
I am very curious as to how you're going to let the track move away from the pushing rod

OMG Aaron thanks. Episode 7 contains the answer. Spoiler….. it was really hard.

How do you keep your copper from tarnishing? Mine turns really dull and brownish after a couple of days or weeks.

    • @CopperGravity
      @CopperGravity  Рік тому +1

Mine does dull very slowly. Often I just let this happen, but sometimes I just polish with 0000 grade wire wool.

Gosh no. That’s nice. Good idea to use flat bar for the tracks. 👍

Enthralling as always. There is much better balance between your voice and the background music in this episode. It is much easier to make out what you are saying and easier on the ears in general.
