I do not care what anyone says this is by far the best anthem in the entire world. I thinks it’s a mix of the mellifluous Welsh language, the melodic tune where it starts off slow but hits the high peaks at GWLAD GWLAD and at the end, the incredible passion with which it is sung by a massively proud nation, the world renowned singing of the Welsh people and if you look into it the translation in it which talks about a beautiful land and how much it is loved by its inhabitants. Cymru am Byth. 🏴
Nice to see someone using the internet to help educate themselves. Wales has much to offer, particularly it friendly people, language and love of music.
Yes Caucasian South Africans all have ancestral ties to Europe. Where else do you think we came from ? I’m a South African born and bred, with every drop of my blood being English. The man above is 2nd generation Welsh. Yes it seems possibly 1/8 Welsh. Regardless, guaranteed 100% South African at heart.
I'm English but I believe it's one of the oldest unchanged Languages in Europe. Whitch I'm ashamed to say English tride to wipe it out .I'm so pleased it's growing again. And all signs are dual language signed.
Having been in the Principality Stadium for a few international matches that sound, when most of those in the stadium are singing is amazing. It's as if it enters your entire being and the whole place vibrates. As the game starts the singing, if Wales are doing well, regularly springs up spontaneously with different supporters songs. It's a wonderful thing to become part of.
Good job we're on a sane channel with (as yet) no trolls - I posted your exact words on another (nameless) channel and the originator called me an ignorant Welsh Nationalist. For writing my ancestral language, no less. Cymru am byth! 🏴
1:25 I'd be surprised if Wales didn't have Whales, they have a pretty long coastline for whales to be found in. 4:10 Don't beat yourself up about it, you learnt something new & that's the important thing.
@Isleofskye Neither can I mate, Google Alexa keeps telling me I'm stupid as there's no such place as Wal es. There's a Wales in South Africa and Guyan, but I'm trying to find the British Wal es 😲

The English National Anthem is so bad, the English don't even know what it is any more (Land of Hope and Glory). They sing the British one instead 'God save The King/Queen' - a propaganda song or Rule Britannia - another so called 'British' National Anthem that was written by a Scotsman to the music of an Englishman for a play about Alfred the Great.
Sung with hwyl, there is no interpretation for hwyl, except goodbye, hwyl is passion a enthusiasm, a intrinsically part of belonging to something much larger than a singular being, coming together and enjoying, contributing and being a part of this is magical, a bit like everything Cymraeg, it is a cultural thing that globalists and mass immigration will destroy.

It’s like a war cry it’s amazing
Agreed!
I'm London born but residing in Wales and I can say with absolute certainty that nothing East of the border compares to the passion of the Welsh
Facts and greatest country on earth 🌎 💯
Bloody good flag too 😁
Wales the land of song, I live in Wales every time I hear our Anthem it gives me the tingles in my spine. I love Wales, our flag and the Anthem.

I am a proud South African with Welsh heritage my great grandfather was from Wales.
Lmao 1/8 welsh

No , Basque is quite a bit older, and is not related to any other language, unlike Welsh which has many 'relatives', some very close !
@brentwoodbay Ho Right thankyou for the information

We, the Welsh, always sing Flower of Scotland, too. In the second verse, where the music cuts out and the crowd sings unaccompanied, it's beautiful.
I was at this game a mate of mine Scott Willams played with him in college played in this game ❤
You've really got to be there. Its spine tingling.
As you said, "it's better to be dumb and want to learn more, than to be dumb and want to stay dumb"
Very well said.
They are singing in Welsh, not English
Welsh - probably the oldest language in Europe. And in the hands of the rugby team and supporters, simply unfortgettable.
proud to be welsh
Bless you. Did you not know we have our own language? Now you know. Xx
I'm proud of my homeland my people my culture and my forefathers
Diolch yn fawr from wales. ✌

Ironically, we do get whales off the coast of Wales
Yes, 30 to 3 is a big score but we're not talking 'football' here. This is at a rugby match so you can get points 2, 3 or 5 points at a time.
It's Welsh, not welish. They are on the lower left hand side next to England, in the UK kingdom

Sung in The Welsh language which is nothing like English.
It says WELSH national anthem not ENGLISH national anthem

There is a video you may wish to check on the different languages of the British Isles.
I was working that night..... when the score came in....... Welsh meltdown 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴💵
My god Wales the most wonderful place on earth look it up
Nice lady thank you .
By the way its welsh not welish
Brittanys national anthem has the same tune
It’s Welsh pronounced Wellshhhhh, it’s the language of Wales which is over 4000 years old and one of the oldest in Europe. II is a Gaelic language
Three part harmony. In welsh. Enough said.
you aint dumb
It’s rugby - the scores are much higher than in football.
Tom Jones,Catherine Zita Jone
Sir Anthony Hopkins
Not WelISH. It is Well-shh.
It's a "wel-ish" good anthem isn't?
I'm confused. I can't find Wal es in a map of England?

best anthem after scotland!
You're having a laugh obviously no where near as passionate and you're singing about a flower 😂
This was really pointless.
Wales is not a country, it's a principality and part of England since 1530 so why the "national" anthem?
Wales is a country we have devolved powers in the senedd , a capital city , anthem , sports teams, flag , langauge ect
That is such a joke of a comment given that Henry VII was Welsh.
Congratulations! Every Welshman now hates you
what world are you living in 💀
