Once you see awareness as your true identity, mind can no longer make you suffer

  • Begin to question the identity on behalf of whom there is suffering. Expose the self image on behalf of whom the mind desires and fears, judges and condemns; on behalf of whom the body acts. This is the path to awaken to your true identity.

Luck kills credit, having no credit eliminates self-image, no self-image brings about manonasa. This is why you have to get over assuming responsibility for everything. It's really just a bad way of motivating yourself. There are better ways.

Becoming aware of being aware has hit me a few times in my life in sudden moments. One time I simply looked out of my window at the trees blowing in the wind and just knew that I was aware of being aware and the second was having the experience of Christ’s grace/sacrificial love. Both felt similar in gratitude, love, and oneness with truth. It’s hard using words bc they are insufficient but necessary at the same time to describe. It’s very difficult to stay in that state of awareness but I’m thankful that it’s real and must be related intimately with Christ’s teaching that the kingdom of heaven is within you now. Love and peace to all of you images of God❤

I can ‘say’ all I like that I’m grateful for someone or something, but I genuinely don’t know or understand HOW to ‘feel’ gratefulness. 🙁
I think I’m emotionally dead, or my mind and body are scared to FEEL anything because when I’ve felt things in the past, I’ve been emotionally crushed, by situations and people.

@@JohnM...I think it becomes easier when you observe the surrounding thoughts around the thought of being grateful. When you’re happy you have thoughts around that happiness that make it easier to feel the happiness. Such as being happy about your life. The surrounding thoughts around that describe your happiness and help youb”feel” happy. The same can be done with the gratefulness.

I have concluded that the idea of "God" being "I Am," is no so much a name as a concious shifting process. When "you" ask yourself that question "who am I," there is silence and connection. That is because the ego and all the false selves have no answer. They aren't real.

I am personally wanting to get to where you are describing.. I started using mindful awareness techniques to work with deep childhood and adult trauma.. A person who, as a child, feels threatened, unsafe, fearfilled (emotionally, physically, sexually, etc) will naturally feel like "me/the world", very subject/object dominated because children are not capable of absorbing the suffering foisted upon them. It's very hard to unwind from this, but I do believe it can be unwound from... The mindful awareness techniques I use help me unwind from all those fears, need for safety, acceptance, etc that were never provided to a child... a child who becomes an adult who still cannot process a world that is safe. Yet, those same mindful awarness techniques are opening this 'awareness of awareness', and letting go of the I/the world paradigm required for survival. I move toward self inquiry, and am more and more able to ease away from I AM NESS..

Ive been thinking the same thing lately as being aware has truly changed my life in a year. Hearing you lay it out like this really connects some dots. Identity is an illusion. We use it to rationalize our inner childs attempts to bring comfort in an uncertain chaotic world. The comfort manifests into automatic behaviors that can be difficult to break free from. I find I need to constantly question the origin of my random impulses. It helps alot.

First time I viewed your channel. I have been struggling with this concept of I am and what has helped me finally to understand how to stop identifying with the concepts in my mind is when you gave the example of someone who doesn’t stop talking. You stop listening to them and so now when my mind talks I realize it’s chatter and just stop listening. Thank you so much ! Seems so simple but we have been programmed from birth to believe we are who we think we are and the deprogamming comes slowly for some of us , but I finally feel I am breaking free. I will add for anyone who is struggling, to try fasting from your “go to” whe you are uncomfortable. For me, it’s coffee…it was cigarettes but I quit that through juice fasting for 2 weeks. Now it’s coffee.. could be food , projects, drugs..whatever numbs you from being uncomfortable. Fasting gets you out of your habits. Thank you again for making this more clear. I am assuming that with practice you suddenly see your oneness and separation is gone? No there yet but at least I finally get how to get there!

I just want to share some idea/a thought . It's much more easier to awake in a beautiful and harmonius dream than in the nightmare . What i am trying to say is that if we feel loving and happy and being kind/compassionate towards others its much more easier to awake or question thoughts , or work with this idea that is being presented in the video . Calm body/mind can see much better and question much better . And even Ramana Maharshi, Jesus and Buddha had personal self but those personal selves were for that time much loving and calm versions than any other personal self on the planet , and maybe that is not even true. Again what i am trying to point that love helps immensly and cuts all questions and answers and in the end we all seek love . And what this questioning in the end gives is love . So ❤

Hi Sunny! This was truly mind blowing. So basically my understanding of what you are teaching is that the “I” that is bothered is also yet another thought? So we are basically in a loop of thoughts, one thought after another. No wonder the “I” is so disturbed because it can’t get out of the loop of thoughts. The true “I” is not a thought it’s being. Without thought. Let me know if I am on the right track here….

    • @selfinquiryschool
      @selfinquiryschool  Рік тому +9

Glad that the message resonated Saira. Well, see what the "I" denotes. What do you refer to when you say "I?"
Usually you're referring to the IDEA you have of yourself, which includes a name, an image of your face, a concept of your story. This is all thought made. This is all concept. That is not what "I" actually is. "I" which is identity is awareness.
So as long as these ideas keep parading around as "I" there will be a sufferer. That right there is personal identity. Without personal identity, there cannot be any suffering.

My selfconcept that there is no one behind my eyes... it's working slow without the right questions to internalize, but now whenever I identify with a person in a particular positive/negative Situation, I ask myself this questions and then there is immediate stillness, no one who identifies with a character which has that experience. No I have only to remind me everytime till its automatic and I stay in this calm stillness👍🤗

And yet I didn't feel awareness. It was just indescribable and unfathomable after the experience was done. And then I think about life - a self propelling and self propagating intertwined weave that goes under and above and side to side
And then I am at absolute peace 🙏🙏🙏
      And then…. OMG !!! It’s coming again!!!

@@one-ej8dr who wants it to go away? You can drop the pressure on making anything go away by letting it be and just observing. Look for it and all you will find is sensation and experience, no separate self. Your belief in that seperate self will naturally leave as you abide in awareness and demonstrate the lack of separate self with your investigation. All the best!

"I" has NOTHING to do with PERSONHOOD, "I" refers simply to our BE-ing. The "AM" refers to personhood as what follows the AM is what we ARE in OBJECT reality alone. Go to the RAW experience of JUST being. What is there? 🙏

Is it self inquiry? Is that what the inquiry is pointing to 👉🏻our awareness/ I am?

Pointers are many. But generally yes it’s referring to the practice of self inquiry, where we turn away from what we know and notice the very knowing itself (awareness of self)

Glad u mentioned that u need to become a person when u are building up a business.
I really face this pbm. Actually I have exam for job two months after. Now I don't know that how to take an identity which would ensure that I get the job, what identity I should take to do the study for performing well in exam. assumptions being if I study then I can clear the written exam. That's an assumption too right? Because it is observed my awareness.
I don't feel any interest to prepare because all thoughts are concept. I don't even fear that if I can't crack the exam. Because fear is also being observed.

And it would be a hit just like Seinfeld way before Seinfeld this show was about nothing but what happened in this guy,s head and it was represented by people talking to him in an apartment (his head) and they all had conflicting beliefs and ideas So he thought he talked to himself but it was this characters running his life. The show never aired . No explanation or mention why ..I don't even remember the name of the show to look it up ..weird indeed
