A subscriber of the Home Brew Network and watch all the videos, but have to disagree on CIP rotor. I had been cleaning my Brewzilla by hand and over the course of many brews (~20) I was starting to see wort staining that I was having a tough time cleaning off, especially around drains and faucet nut. Tried the CIP rotor for the first time using saved wort chiller water and a little oxyclean, heated to near boiling and ran for an hour or so why I cleaned up from brew day. Drained off water, rinsed thoroughly and the Brewzilla looks like new, no stains left. While I agree you may not need to use every brew day, for $15 US, it's inexpensive and does an outstanding job. A definite asset for me.
I hear you but the rotor didnt clean your drains and faucet nut, you could just recirc hot water and cleaner and do the same. The rotor does nothing but spray the sides. Cheers!
Great honest video. I will stay old school and clean by hand. Don't take that long
Yeah I just use a rag to wipe any Grime off. It might be ok.
For me the saving is time. I can go off and do something else while the equipment is cleaned and also quickly clean and sanitise my kegs and fermenter while I'm off doing something else. The flexible hose just makes it easy to just swing it to the side and clean my other equipment
my thoughts if someone is keen going down sprey rotor forget about the tube and get the stainless flexible arm and add a camlock fitting to attach to brewzilla with the spray rotor at the other end it will not be as wobbly looking like with the plastic tube that comes with it and no need to clamp.
even thoughi have this , i am finding its just as easy to clean with a sponge
Hi m8. Think even though im partial disabled , spongue and elbow grease! Obv on my good side. Hope you have a great Xmas pal. Brian D.🇬🇧
Thanks very much mate, same to you!
I bought one, it’s kind of cool, but your assessment is 100% correct. Not required at all.
Still, it’s not the worst $10 I’ve ever spent 😂
I think I'll stick with the sponge, I've got enough to think about at the moment as I just bought the brewzilla gen 4 35 l . I did my first brew on it 2-days ago so I'm on a bit of a learning curve, I forgot to take a ph reading and forgot my yeast nutrient 😂.
Hopefully I'll be more relaxed next brewday.
By the way what do you think of the new corny keg lid seals from kegland ?
Apparently I need four of them fast, all of my previous keg beers must have been oxidised without me even noticing it.😂
I believe the science, i was actually meant to do a video about it with kee about 12 months ago... but forgot.. Long term storage I would for sure, well truth be told, I bought the new ones ago. lol
My biggest concern, especially with systems like the Brewzilla, is always the hoses/tubing having stuff grow inside without being visible. The only way I can sleep at night is to do a quick recirculation with some wash through the hoses, and if you're already doing that, might as well throw on the CIP while you're at it. IMO this is a cheap option and definitely doesn't hurt.
Yeah I often run a little cleaner through cheers!
Considering that's the water seems to be going everywhere, even dropping straight down I see a affordable possible use for it as a fly sparger as well.
I dont think any sort of spray for sparging is of any use in a system so small, I know people like their toys though hahaha Cheers!
Got to say I used the Kegland wort spreader for my first brew using the Brewzilla 35L for mashing and sparging and it worked great. In fact I would say the wort spreader is a must for good even wort recirculation and helps with temperature control. I do not advise the top plate for mashing all that does is compact the grain bed but I did use it for sparging becuase the sparge liquor only goes through the grains once so it does not compact the grain bed but does ensure even didtribution of the sparge liquor and the spreader helps again. By the way the spreader will do all that that thing you are showing hear but without the liquid going all over the place it just sprays the liquid out onto the walls of the kettle without the spinning.@@HomeBrewNetwork
Is there any advantage using it as a sprinkler during the mash. looks like it would spread the wort out fairly evenly?
Too much splashing and just not needed on a system this size. Cheers mate
Imagina o mosto quente girando e respingando para todos os lados. Não achei prático, e talvez até um pouco perigoso.
I would never use it for wort, in fact I won't use any spray balls or the like at all in the mash. Just not needed on this scale. Cheers!
This gadget become useful when U'r too drunk to use a sponge. I bought it for that purpose.😂
Hahaha Fair enough!
May be better suited to clean kegs.
Bucket blaster FTW!

Yeah. I think this thing is super useless. If you look at the Sinner circle.... since most homebrewers do not use NaOH, Mechanical cleaning is super important (it has nearly 0)
A CIP rotor/ball is for cleaning equipment that can't be cleaned easily any other way due to their size and/or internal accessability. At the homebrew scale most people won't have an issue but you know, people love gadgets. At least this one is cheap, unlike dozens of items that homebrew companies produce and convince brewers they "need".
Yes exactly 💯
Waste of money...a sponge works just fine.
Yeah but this does fully sick spinning things
