I'm a little late to this but my dad and I started raising pod shatter resistant canola for straight cutting two years ago just south of the border here in Montana and we'll probably never go back to the swathing. Our situation's a little different, but I think that has more to do with geography and size of farm than anything else. I also think we lucked into some fantastic market conditions when we decided to get back into canola, but it's always a bit of a roll of the dice. Best of luck this year!
