Because they... Never really put their faith/trust in Jesus.
Reality is... Faith in Christ looks like something. Those who have true faith, have a REAL seeking after a relationship with the True and Living God. Like they actually... you know... BELIEVE that there is a God, an afterlife, a day of judgement, a real spiritual enemy.
Reality is... Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

This concept is how I learned to manage my anger when I turned to Christ. I was afraid I'd lose my job at this point if I kept going off on people. But upon reading into Scripture, consulting with Chrstians, and attending church weekly, I've concluded two things:
1. When someone insults you, they are not insulting you. They are insulting God. They are insulting Jesus. Because God loves you. So if they're insulting God, let God sort them out. The same goes vice versa if I get the urge to ever insult someone, even in my own head.
2. If Jesus can forgive me for the things I've done, then I am obligated to, in turn, forgive others for things they do to me. This has allowed me to let go of stowed up bitterness and hatred.

We can't just pray for forgiveness, we have to be sorry, regret our mistakes, sin, and confess it and not do it again. That's how God's Word say. Read God's Word it will testify against all people at the Judgement bar. In my prayers.

This woke me up and reminded me that I am guilty of this sin of not loving one another as myself. I have been so consumed with bitterness and anger for what people have done to me and I need to learn to let go and change. I humbly ask for forgiveness and to be able to do better. In Jesus' name I say and ask all these things! Amen and God Almighty is so good 🙌🏾

Yes, sometimes we don't even realize we do it. I am guilty myself and before I watched this, I didn't think I was. But what is done is done in the past, there is nothing we can do about it now but confess our sins and plead for forgiveness, and never do it again. Take care!

As another brother or sister here said yes all we can do is repent from the bottom of our heart to the Lord, and let that guilt and pain be why we will be so careful in the future to love, and not be selfish. Yours was a pretty mild case; mine is remembering a man who had his thumb out needing a ride and he looked so dejected when car after car after car including mine passed him by. I have a ton of excuses for why I didn’t stop that particular day, but it just doesn’t matter. It’s such a painful memory. I’ve prayed for him many times since also. When I was homeless, I went to a shelter for dinner. After the priest said a prayer, he said "It is my duty to serve you, my brothers and sisters". Just about knocked me over with emotion. I'll never forget that for as long as I live!
That's the Catholic faith in a nutshell (at least it's supposed to be). As I heard a priest say once: "We are saved by Grace, through faith, in order to do good works."

This is interesting, about being homeless. Lots of people in America,who are conservative, believe that if you are homeless, it's because you chose to live that way. I have news for them : the fastest growing demographic for becoming homeless is the senior citizens !! Rents keep going up, but pensions don't keep pace with rents. The same for disabled people, veterans and working class people, who simply can't afford market rate rents. ( the housing shortage caused it) so don't oppress homeless people. Don't oppose affordable housing.

Another one was “ that person you may be standing next to in line at the supermarket, might be doing everything they can trying not to fall apart. It is only a true Christian who would be concerned with sin and wanting to turn from it and seeking holiness. We are not yet perfect and so we still sin but the Bible encourages us by saying if we confess our sins, he faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. That process of cleaning us from all unrighteousness will not be complete until we are in Heaven.
Keep praying brother! I’m now 4 months clean of alcohol. Jesus healed me from my addiction and changed my heart. You couldn’t pay me to have a drink now.

This video really spoke to me. Ever since I repented of my sins, I wasn’t completely sure on what to do after. I thought praying, fasting Bible reading was all I had to do. All of these are essential and important, but loving my neighbor as myself is just as important.
Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

the Law is not to help us live but to show us our need for more life...His life in us.
As you try to treat others as you would want to be treated you will see you fail to even live up to your own standards. you may learn to enjoy being good. but you will see your need for true motivation from the Son's heart in you.

This was me before. I was very selfish without even realizing it. I’ve now devoted my time to helping the community and giving when ever I can. Not bc I want praises from God but bc I truly in my heart care for others more than myself now. Never judge a person by their looks, religion, social class etc. there is more joy in giving than receiving.

I was watching a video about how new age twists scripture and it was saying how whatever you do to another person you are also doing to yourself, but that's not true. This video really changed my perspective as a Christian, I try everyday to repent my sins, seek opportunities to help people, and pray. I try everything I can to prevent something like this from happening to me, I as a Christian apologise for my sins, I really hope that god is not angry with me. In Jesus name amen❤
Ideally, you will help others because you see the dignity in them, and feel moved to help, rather than out of concern for your own eternal well-being. However, if you are not there yet, then doing good things out of fear is a good start; work with what you have, But in so doing, try to see the humanity in the people you interact with, to turn the focus away from yourself, and towards love for others. I'm sure this is the way of Christ. I'm not saying I do it very well, I don't mean to sound like I've reached some sort of perfection, but I think this is an important mindset that will make reaching out to others easier and even something you will want to do for its own worth rather than as an unpleasant chore to be done to avoid damnation.

It does it has some good points to it I think what I would do obviously you got to use your spiritual discernment because some people really are legitimate they really do need help like I can't really do too much when it comes to a car situation but like some of the others I go to the food banks and sometimes I get some good extra stuff which I easily could give to somebody that could use it even more than myself that means there's extra left over and it's not going to be a problem for me to give me give them maybe a couple of my bags that have cans in it and have some other stuff that they can probably use and yet I'm not going to be short so I'm probably going to do that, that's with that you just got to be careful though because there is a lot of scammers out there and some people will use it as a roof and entrap you meaning they could have somebody to you know you go out and try to help them and next thing you know you got somebody pulling a gun on you or try to attack you somebody that you didn't see come out of the bushes so you got to use your head you know trust the Lord use spiritual discernment through Christ and be careful who you help obviously and what time of the day so I think God would want us to do that the intentions are right and I think if God knows our hearts he knows our intentions but we do got to use our our spiritual discernment and be smart about it and careful as well especially time of the day and wherever you're at

This channel suggests that someone isn't saved because they didn't love their fellow people. That completely contradicts the gospel of salvation! What about believe and you will be saved? When the jailor asked Paul how to be saved, he told him believe! This is the provision that God made for us to be redeemed! That we believe in the one in whom God sent! Awesome video! In 2004 I had a dream that radically changed my life. In the dream I was standing before the throne of God in heaven. I couldn’t see him I only saw a brilliant light. And he said, You are my daughter and you are NOT ready I am coming soon, I am coming soon. And at that moment I could see all of the sin in my life and for the first time I FELT the reverential fear of the Lord. When I woke up I still felt that tangible reverential fear for about 3 hours. It’s an Awful feeling to hear you are Not ready! I started instantly making huge changes in my life. This video reminded me of that dream.
I had a dream that I was standing on a small wooden boat looking at the bow (front) from my point of view. The weather was getting choppy and the wind was picking up. I then was told that a storm was coming and I needed to get ready. I knew the bow of the boat had to be faced into the waves (and then it did) and that was it.

I once stopped and gave an old Disheveled homeless man a few dollars I had on me. When he looked at me and thanked me I got shivers down my spine. His eyes, I thought they turned to Jesus’ eyes. This was 10 + yrs ago and I still think about that interaction.
Jesus lived the lives of all people in those 3 days. Don’t forsake him. In whatever person he plays, regardless of the closeness he is to his true nature, always lend a hand of support for he will do great things and repay you in full.
Even though that the only way to get saved is by accepting Jesus as your savior and not by good deeds, doing good things by the heart are still very godly things to carry out.

This is why I always try to be helpful no matter where I am. One time I helped a young lady who’s car was stranded on the side of a street with a dead battery. I drove up to her car, while someone came out with jumper cables and hooked my car up to hers. With the third persons help we got that car running for her and she offered me money. I didn’t take the money. I was just happy she was on her way home safely. She said” God Bless you”. It meant the world to me and I’ve not forgotten it ever since.

This morning, mom and I found a single white flower on mom’s Christmas cactus. Just one big white flower. To the Italians it’s called a fioretto , meaning a flower, which is something Italians do during lent. We got a definite sign from God that my deed had not gone unnoticed. So I thanked God this morning for such a beautiful gift. It isn’t much but to me it meant the world to me, especially on Easter .

So while yes, forgiveness is important, I would take care of my own as well. Get in an environment with people who love you like Christ did.(Ephesians 5:25) It also says in the Bible that the husband should love his wife like Jesus loved the curch. Read about it in the Gospels! HE died for us. So please seek help from someone, a pastor or another person. Forgiveness can happen everywhere but you also need to heal. Hello, my name is Laura and I'm 15, I want to be saved, I want to repent, but I have wordly sorrow but I don't have Godly sorrow over my sins that produces repentance and I'm just stuck, I feel empty and I worry about it, I need help I don't know what to do, I want to truly repent and be truly converted but my heart is hardened to my sins that I have no sorrow over it, or sometimes I don't recognize my sins, but lately my heart is feeling cold towards God, but part of me doesn't want to be like this and my desperation is becoming numb because of school and distractions but I don't want to be like this or stay this way. As a fellow christian I say to you brothers and sisters please use discernment when helping people in "need". I've helped people many times before with my time and resources and they took advantage of me. I was used and abused. It left me feeling depleted most of the time. Cause I was giving so much, was there for everyone. And no one was there when I needed help. They only took advantage of my kindness and generosity. So please be careful and use discernment to see if the person is in real need of help. Helping others should never be at the cost of our own health, sanity and dignity.
Second commandment: Love others AS you love Yourself.
We got to love and respect ourselves first in order to do the same for others.
So it's okay to put ourselves first, it's okay to say no when our health, resources and dignity is in jeapardy.

Am so blessed by this message. I remember when I was at my highs ,many people were blessed because I can share to them whatevee I have. And up until now, as I write this, one soul who has an emotional problem came to my home and ask for advice. I open my door. But, when I needed help, nobody answered! I mean literally, NO ONE!. I Just assumed that they too has personal problem / burden that hinders them to give help. I am down financially, really but I just have to trust to no one EXCEPT GOD. That is where I get relief. So tired of tapping people for help. Until now, my marriage is isnt settled because of financial problens. I have loans unsettled. But Im very optimistic that God will surely provide!

Christianity is about living for God (His will/kingdom) and living to bless others, rather than living for ones life in this world.
However, that does not mean you just give people money out of fear because if don’t you are going to hell (none of your good works should be motivated by fear of going to hell. It should be because you genuinely want to live a life in correct relationship with God where you are a blessing to Him and others).
If you think the money will bless them then do it. If you think it will only feed their broken lifestyle and you could give that same money to orphans in Africa instead, then do that.
Even the apostle Paul said: if you don’t work you don’t eat. He did not let people exploit one’s goodness, because that neither helps the taker (in the long term) nor the giver.
The point is that your intention should be to bless people rather than just bless yourself. You have to use discernment to figure out the best way to be a blessing, not just throw your money at people even if you believe they will just use it for drugs. Maybe, ask if you can buy them food instead-for example.
Love them. That is the point. See them and treat them how you would a loved one in that same situation-don’t treat them with indifference.

I just want to add one thing. Forgiveness. You see, I know what it means to be homeless (I was sofa surfing for 2+ years)...and I also know what it means to help the homeless. And I can tell you that many of those "unkind" people I have met just had a bad previous experience. It happens. It happened to me too. I have very little on my own even now (not homeless anymore), yet I am always happy to help others. But there were cases when people pretending to be homeless took an advantage of my kindness. Just one of the examples is a man in his 20's I found huddled up in the middle of the winter storm by a local supermarket. We talked for a long time and he seemed genuine. I decided to bring him my best woollen blanket so that he can keep warm. He accepted it...but a few days later I saw him again in the town, hanging around with a woman and laughing at me. This happened why I was still sofa-surfing and I could not buy another blanket for myself to keep warm. The whole incident hurt and scarred me badly- it took me many months to recover from it. I guess, if you met me at that time, I would not be very kind. Now I help to serve brunches for homeless- but I can tell you, as much as I love those people I know exactly how many take advantage of our kindness. This is not to say that all homeless people are like that- not at all! Many are in genuine need, no doubt about it. It's just that sometimes people who seem to be "unkind" are really just hurting. They are fighting their fears that someone will misuse their kindness. And they need our understanding and forgiveness. I know, it can be a hard pill to swallow- to forgive those who are in a better position than we are- but it's vital.

you mentioned seeing him with company the next day, likely a woman treating this homeless man to a lunch? why would it mean he was ungenuine?
nobody would willingly risk their life to sleep in a freezing storm if they had other options.
by giving the blanket you may have saved his life that very night.
i remember in 2020 i was living in a cardboard box the entire winter. every night in prayer for protection against the cold and other adversities. most nights i couldn't sleep because it was simply too cold, the body was fighting hard against hypothermia.
then one day i came back home' from looking for food, and noticed a blanket and a jacket next to the box. I was overjoyed.

from that day on i was able to sleep trough the night and recover a little from being insanely sleep deprived for weeks. a great relief.
this upcoming winter will likely be my fourth winter out. however i have good experience now hence it can only become easier :)

This video clearly explains how not to read the Bible. If righteousness comes from law Christ is dead in vain. Yes we need to do good works and help others not for getting saved but in love with Christ.
Gospel: Jesus died for our sins buried and rose again on the 3rd day for our Justification. Shed His Blood for the forgiveness of our sins for all time. Eternal life is a free gift of God for faith in Jesus Christ.
When a person realises he is a sinner and in need of a Saviour as he could not keep the whole law to earn the righteousness demanded by God. The very moment When he believed in the gospel he is eternally and permanently saved & sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.
Ephesians 2:8,9 Saved by grace through faith not of yourselves it is a gift of God
Not of works lest any man should boast

This was hard… I live in NYC and I do try to help people who asks or give to people while riding the subway but there’s so many evil people out here sometimes I be so scared to help people worried I might be attacked but this was a really good reminder to me thanks AoC Network for this I need to have more faith God’s with me and less fear 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@Shaunie James, Just ask for Lord's protection from evil. In case you found yourself in bad situation after helping someone. Cry and pray but do not stop helping people who are need. Because this is a test for you, and for every one else there, if despite of doing good, you receive evil in return, God is testing the resolve of your heart, if its truly pure. We help not because of we are expecting reward, we are not expecting to go it smoothly, but because we feel compassion and love to our neighbors. God will look at the state of our mind and heart..so just continue.
On more secular note, the old saying is boldness wins the day. Biblically, the righteous are as bold as a Lion! Soldiers had a saying that if there is a bullet with your name on it, there was no escape. Vikings would say the Old Father wrote the story of your life long ago. Fear profits a man nothing.
@Desert Peace most of the prisoners in America are there because they are receiving the just punishment for real crimes. Most of them. Now in communist, Muslim, and 3rd world countries there is a good chance prisoners are imprisoned unfairly.
I work in NYC and I’ve given my left over food to homeless people and a young man who was freezing cold I went to get hot chocolate for him. He was very young. I’ll never forget his beautiful blue eyes. You just have to do it carefully. And make sure you’re in public space around other people incase you get attacked.

I spent 32 years in church and I was baptized several times, but I swear if I would've died before '04 then I would have went to hell. My whole life changed when I got on my knees and prayed like I never prayed before and gave my life to Christ. Going to church doesn't save you, it's humbling yourself and truly asking forgiveness.
It’s believing the death burial and resurrection of Christ to save you. He paid for your salvation on the cross with his own blood.
Like what he said it’s what you do for people how you show people you care because if you show that love then you also love Jesus, you have to do it through your heart and not do it just to do it

It’s not your love for God that saves you brother, it’s Gods love for you that does, all you gotta do is take the gift that Jesus offers and accept it by trusting in His work on the cross.
