    I would prefer to see the test at 100 PSI, to test the sealing of the equipment itself (hoses, connections, etc.) to see if it can withstand this pressure without leaking.

      I am leaning towards to 100PSI gauge method myself. I get this one may be "safer" and less likely to turn over an engine due to pressurizing the cylinder, but there are ways around all that if you know what you are doing. I think if you are hobby guy that just wants a safe basic test, its ok. If you are around engines professionally, you probably want the 100PSI gauge method.
