Well done PP on your 4th place 👏🏻 Good to see Roger back and commiserations to John on the loss of Gus the dog maybe the squid 🐙 will be safe on cutting boards now
A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them. After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?' 'This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered. Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked. Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up'. The man gestured, and the gate began to open. 'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveler asked. 'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.' The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog. After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book. 'Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?' 'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in..' 'How about my friend here?' the traveler gestured to the dog. There should be a bowl by the pump.' They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog. When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree. 'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked. This is Heaven,' he answered. 'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said. 'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.' 'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell.' 'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?' 'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind. Sending John this message from Ireland may he be re united with Gus some time in the distant future, I'm sure he will be waiting for him at those big gates
Thanks for bothering Pete.... your videos and comments are inspirational and so informative which helps me immensely as I get to grips with sea fishing on that beautiful coast. As you rightly say dismiss any negativity and embrace the good stuff. Keep up the great work and I may join you all for a match one day from here in land locked Leicestershire. As you've said fishing is not all about catching fish and we must be so thankful for all opportunities to be out there with our mates, or on our own taking in nature and hoping for a few fish to make it even better. Good luck, hope to see you soon!
I look forward to watching your excellent videos Pete, there's nothing like a few hours fishing to make you forget about the troubles in the world even if it's only temporary, look forward to seeing the next one 👍
You keep on making the videos Pete. They have helped me a lot. I first found you after heart surgery I and they helped me through my recovery, I keep saying that I will fish one of the matches that you film, I even bought a new rod, but unfortunately I have had to have two back surgeries, one last August which didn't work very well and one last week to try and correct it. Just so you know how much your work is appreciated your videos keep me sane. Thanks John
Thank you Pete , another great insight into sea match fishing in Norfolk . Your tactics paid off well done. So sad to hear Gus has passed a true character of the club RIP
Another great vid Pete, so sad to hear about Gus the dog, he was an absolute legend, I fish for my mental health, I lost my wife to leukaemia, I’ve been an angler all my life, & I have always turned to angling to help me, keep doing what you’re doing Pete 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Hi Pete so true what you said we go fishing because we love it! We may not all be good at it ..l So what.. I love what you do so keep it doing it.... Brilliant....... Daz....
John , I can appreciate whare you are coming from ,Thankyou very much for your time and effort mate,Take no notice of the negativity, Tight lines ,Take care
Well done Pete, sorry to hear about Gus the dog, i'm sure he had a wonderful life with all you fisher folk in NAC, thanks for another great video, look forward to the next one. Ian in the Scottish Borders
Eazy pete you ok pal, thanks 4 another cracking watch. Sorry to hear about old Guss, n the stuff you went frew. Love the show , All the best from GRIMSBY
I'd just like to say that I think your videos are informative and entertaining. Can't understand how you'd get negative comments on your videos but this is the horrible keyboard warrior world we now have to live with. I grew up on the North Wales coast fishing as a teenager on shore and boat. Moving around and what not, I'd not fished in 20 years or so. I unfortunately now live in Northampton so it's a 2½ drive to North Norfolk but I've found that passion again. Have only tried Cley and Salthouse so far but your videos have been extremely helpful. Thank you Pete and tight lines to all.
I don’t get many, but there’s always the odd clown who has a say . I just delete comment and don’t bother to reply. Cheers for your feedback. Tight lines 👍
Very nice to meet you. Well done in the match. Planned to fish Weybourne today to christen my rods, unfortunately the wife twisted her ankle so will have to wait for another day.
Another great video mate.Your videos are always welcome on my tv screen even if there is some big ugly mug with a beard spoiling them 🤣 As far as the negativity goes on your channel you will always get it from keyboard warriors. The positive comments will always outweigh them with what you do for the angling community. Keep up the good work mate and well fished 🎣. R.I.P Gus 🥲
Hi pete I watch all of your videos and they are brilliant. I live in gosport and fished my first match in 9 years. I came 3rd and had second biggest fish 91cm hound. There were 17 blanks from really good anglers. I was wondering if I could come up and fish one of your matches as a guest and meet all you good people. Take care and stay safe mate. Tom.
Condolences to John on the loss of gus, it's never easy loosing a faithful friend and the big ones go far too soon , I own mastiffs which are even bigger than gus and 8-10 yrs is a good average for them I just wish we could have them for 20yrs. Thanks Pete for your efforts they are very much appreciated and when the match down south with tony's tackle team is confirmed I'll come and spectate.
