Love seeing Zac in Michigan. Also outstanding choice on The Bear 🔥🔥
Lessssss gooooo
You guys are spot on, Michigan has some of the nicest golf courses for the value anywhere in the 🇺🇸
Love some Michigan content. Looking foward to seeing what other courses you're going to play. Good job guys.
Love Michigan golf that is for sure!
Great video. From Michigan and love Northern Michigan golf. Quick note, not Truh-verse city, it is Traverse City, Like Travel City, only Traverse city...
Traverse City is my hometown! Wonderful course!
Such a fun course!
Whats up UA-cam!!! Fun match at this beautiful course
Such an epic trip brother!!
I just played American Dunes in Grand Haven, Michigan, I am from about 2 hours east of it. It was one of my top courses ever. The bear we have played a dozen times are so and it is always a top course no matter what courses you have played.
Lovely course, love the greens 👍 awesome content
I’m from Illinois and love making trips to Michigan. I drove past some courses in Bay Harbor, and man they look amazing. See if you can play there next time you go to Michigan
Luke’s bunker shot was sick
One of the best shots I’ve ever seen!
A Zac vid is instant like. 👊⛳
Lessssss gooooo
Finally you come over to Michigan. My backyard. So many great courses. The bear is one of them
Incredible courses in Michigan that is for sure!
i live in traverse city and am playing a tournament on the bear. its the greeenskeepers revenge tournament october 22nd on the bear they put the holes in some pretty hard locations and gotta play 2 man best ball from the tips. should be fun. great video boys
Such an awesome place to live and glad you enjoyed the vid!
I played this course a few weeks ago on a Michigan golf trip.... crazy difficult course. Got my butt kicked! Hope you're playing Arcadia Bluffs while you're there!
Difficult but such a fun track that is for sure!
Finally some Michigan golf!!!! Are you playing more courses in the Mitten?
Just a couple more! Such great golf up in Michigan!
My buddies and I take a weekend trip to Manistee Resort up near Grand Traverse every May. 2 beautiful courses. Love the content.
Hope y’all have an awesome trip!
Zac, your golf game is crazy good and it’s fun to watch. Ohio similar to Michigan has really good courses for the money, especially compared to South Carolina. South Carolina is loaded with crappy courses but you still play a premium, been extremely disappointed.
Keep em comin sir. I enjoy them all.
Much love and hope you are doing great 👊
@@ZacRadford yes sir. Trying to at least
Bentgrass is a common cool-season grass type used on fairways and greens, especially in northern climates like Michigan. When discussing how bentgrass might affect the ball's launch, consider the following:
Turf Interaction: The way the club interacts with the turf can have subtle effects on ball launch. If the bentgrass is well-maintained, it can provide a tight and consistent lie, which is ideal for clean contact. However, if the grass is allowed to grow a bit thicker, it might cause more interference with the clubface, potentially leading to a higher launch, especially with wedges or irons.
Firmness of Ground: Bentgrass, especially on greens, tends to be mowed very short, creating a tight, firm surface. When hitting off firm turf, the ball might have a more consistent launch angle because there's less interference from longer grass blades. But the launch angle may not necessarily be higher.
Moisture Levels: Morning dew or recent watering can make bentgrass (or any grass) wet, which can affect the friction between the ball and the clubface. This could change the spin and potentially the launch of the ball.
Player Perception and Swing Adjustment: Sometimes, the look and feel of different grass types might subconsciously lead players to adjust their swings. If a player perceives that they need to "help" the ball into the air because of the grass or lie, they might unknowingly change their angle of attack, resulting in a higher launch.
In summary, while bentgrass itself doesn't inherently cause a ball to launch higher, the conditions of the bentgrass (length, moisture, firmness) and a golfer's interaction with it could lead to variations in launch angle. It's also essential to consider other factors at play, like the club used, the golfer's technique, and the specific conditions on any given day.
Greatly appreciate all the insight!

double slammers on 3. love to see that. Luke kept his rake straight so ill give it a 7.9 sand looked a bit hard there. tough break for Mr Peavy sadly as he hit some great shots and good putts. good stuff guys 💯
Much love 👊
I miss the matches u and Morris use 2 play! Very good match up!
Had a long day in the pro shop, just showing up to the party a little late, but Let's Gooooo! Absolutely love to see Z-Rad back in action! Much love, Brother! 👊 ⛳️ 🏌️♂️
Hope you are doing great brother!!!
That course looked like fun
It sure was!
I’m the guy that carried y’all’s bags haha
Hardest track I’ve ever played. Glad to see you enjoying some Michigan golf.
Also, those are 100% apple trees.
Appreciate you letting us know about those trees 👊
@@ZacRadford yessir. Always happy to help. Thanks for the content!
If you guys ever get out to Rhode Island definitely give Newport national a try
Appreciate the recommendation 👊
Of course those are apples, maybe crab apples.
I hope you guys went over to Arcadia Bluffs since you were so close. Most underrated state for golf.
Definitely on the bucket list to get to someday!
Hope you headed over to Treetops after this, the Signature and Masterpiece courses are insane.
Outstanding
Glad you enjoyed!
Good video. Just FYI the locals say TRAverse with the "a" as in apple sound sort like the name TRAvis.
Logged in to help Zac out with this too
Appreciate you letting me know 👍
Yoooo zac, place is so money. Been there a handful of times…. Pops is out there now and hitting Kingsley on Friday. Should try to get y’all together 👍 let me know!
Not an expert, but i would guess that bent grass has a root system thats slightly easier to get through when you take a divot. which makes you hit the ball higher on the face, or roll up the face slightly producing a higher flight. Love watching people struggle on michigan greens outside of 6 ft. It seems like compared to other states i've played michigan greens seem to have a ton more undulations making for a ton of sliders for short putts. Hope you get to play arcadia bluffs, course is good, but the views are where its at.
I have noticed higher launch angles the tighter and firmer the lie is.
Raking Job Evaluation: "0" on rake job no way he got things level for next person. Raking is a motion of pulling back to fix tracks/divot and pushing forward to level to rest of sand around that area.
Will pass the rating on to him 👍
@@ZacRadford Yea whilst doing that ask him about filling the divot at shot 16:25. Looks like he motions to get into cart w/o doing that ;]~
Love that you guys are in my state, but we pronounce the city and resort like the name “Travis” not tra verse. I know he’s from Tennessee but it was bugging me
Would love to play a 2v2 scramble! We're a new channel so would be a big help. Appreciate your content! We're MI natives
Would be fun to tee it up someday!
@@ZacRadford anytime you're in the metro Detroit area or mid Michigan area let us know my friend! Appreciate ya
Hardest course I have ever played place is brutal!
1st like from me
Much love 👊
Snail trail raking in a bunker deserves a 5.2 out of 10
On bent grass fairways, you replace your divot (if greater than 2 inches) and place sand around the edges... jeez...
Bent grass the dream.
It sure is!
THE BEAR. Stay out of high grass, such a tough course but won’t seem like it. Lots of high scores especially on back 9
Luke said it sucks.
Raking a weak 3. Not surprised from the PXG haters
Will pass the rating along!
luke saying he loves fast greens was the biggest lie ever lol
Has Peavy ever beat u in a match?
You're photography notwithstanding they look more like pears than apples or possibly quince. I need a better picture.
OMG, hilariously mispronounced city name, It is Traverse the A in trA is pronounced as in bAt, not bUtt...I know, it is spelled that way.
Appreciate the heads up 👍
Bro it's pronounced Traverse City no big deal.
Saying "good ball" when this dude is clearly slicing the fuck out of the ball, calling out before the shot even reaches it's apex, thinning wedges, etc. I forgot why I stopped watching your videos but now I remember. Do better, Zac, you play better than the content you put out.
Another ZR video….another stripe show! Lessss go🔥
