There is a UA-cam video of the Venerable Pope Pius XII of happy memory meeting with U.S. soldiers after the liberation of Rome. In the group there were certainly non Catholics, including protestants and Jews. At the end of the audience, Pope Pius XII extended his blessing to them and their families, and gave the pontifical blessing making the sign of the cross over all of them. Catholics made the sign of the cross, the others bowled their heads reverentially and seemed to be grateful for the blessing of such a great Pope. Unfortunately, we now have a pope who gives new meaning to “woke-ness “ and “political correctness” which compromises the Catholic faith. It is time for a new pope. If that was the case why did Jesus command His apostles to "go forth, teach all nations everything that I have taught you and baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Why did Jesus say that no one came tot he Father except through Him? If all believe in the same God why are not all worshipping together. This is false ecumenism and dilutes the need for every human being to embrace Jesus as the only Saviour. The way of the Cross is the only way Jesus laid down as the way to Heaven and a Catholic who omits the Sign of the Cross because others don't believe in it does a disservice to the salvation of others. Nope - the problem is their theology. They fail to understand god properly. BTW. Jesus was a Jew, and came to fulfil the scripture of the Old Testament not to deny it. The Old Testament was the Jewish awareness of God. But they failed to recognise its fulfilment in Christ. Islam also failed to recognise the divinity of Christ. To the degree to which they have an appreciation of God, it is a good starting point for developing a basis for conversion. Clearly God wants them to come to know him and has given them an initial relationship with Him. It is our role to enter into relationship with them so that through our example they come to a proper understanding of god. It is not for us to put a smug feeling superiority in the way of being a Christian presence to them. I suppose some are not the first Christian’s to have a difficulty with people hanging out with tax collectors and sinners.

Jeus preached this Himself. "Ask and thou shall receive"! "Anything you ask in My Name will be granted by The Father"! I was at Knock mass again today and noticed plenty making the sign of the cross in their own way... For me it's forehead to naval, shoulder to shoulder and say the words with great dignity and respect. Some seem to do a circular movement around their chin or an inverted cross. It's been on my mind for quite some time. How to get this simple but revertant movement across to others without being judgemental. We should try inspire people... be the change we wish for them. I completely understand that the pope isn't perfect and he is bound to make mistakes, but how would we feel if every single action we took was carefully analyzed for the sake of condemning us? Are we perfect all of the time, are there times we stray away from church teaching ourselves? Well we sin and that's exactly what sin is so yes. Don't throw Did the apostles leave Saint Peter or undermine is authority after he denied Christ? No they didn't, but they loved and supported him, still acknowleding that he had a special role in church history. Trust in the both is trust that God puts his church in the right hands and always looks out for it. So let us take care not to defame our supreme pontiff because what does what does that tell the world about our church? It tells them that we're divided, that we can't come to an agreement of doctrine. It shows that our words of evangelization and peace shouldn't be taken seriously because we can't even find peace with each other. The so called Catholic Conservatives failed miserably to stop or even impede it as they took opposition to "Liberalism" down many blind alleys and dead ends. There is a UA-cam video of the Venerable Pope Pius XII of happy memory meeting with U.S. soldiers after the liberation of Rome. In the group there were certainly non Catholics, including protestants and Jews.
At the end of the audience, Pope Pius XII extended his blessing to them and their families, and gave the pontifical blessing making the sign of the cross over all of them. Catholics made the sign of the cross, the others bowled their heads reverentially and seemed to be grateful for the blessing of such a great Pope.
Unfortunately, we now have a pope who gives new meaning to “woke-ness “ and “political correctness” which compromises the Catholic faith. It is time for a new pope. Let’s hope this time the Cardinals will elect at the very least a Catholic.!

If the leader of the over 2Billion Catholics around the world feels uncomfortable in speaking that simple reality, that HIS benediction is from the position of the Seat of Peter, in Persona Christi, then WHO should stand up to represent the Catholic faith, beliefs and traditions? If there is ONE person in the world who should NEVER be ashamed or uncomfortable to speak clearly when it comes to what we believe, it is our Pope. It is a falsehood to say that the Catholic Church, Islam, Jews, others etc believe in the same God. If that was the case why did Jesus command His apostles to "go forth, teach all nations everything that I have taught you and baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Why did Jesus say that no one came tot he Father except through Him? If all believe in the same God why are not all worshipping together. This is false ecumenism and dilutes the need for every human being to embrace Jesus as the only Saviour. The way of the Cross is the only way Jesus laid down as the way to Heaven and a Catholic who omits the Sign of the Cross because others don't believe in it does a disservice to the salvation of others. Ecumenism is about bringing people to membership in Jesus' Church, not about endorsing or catering to the beliefs or philosophies of those who either don't know Him or reject Him.
Nope - the problem is their theology. They fail to understand god properly. BTW. Jesus was a Jew, and came to fulfil the scripture of the Old Testament not to deny it. The Old Testament was the Jewish awareness of God. But they failed to recognise its fulfilment in Christ. Islam also failed to recognise the divinity of Christ. To the degree to which they have an appreciation of God, it is a good starting point for developing a basis for conversion. Clearly God wants them to come to know him and has given them an initial relationship with Him. It is our role to enter into relationship with them so that through our example they come to a proper understanding of god. It is not for us to put a smug feeling superiority in the way of being a Christian presence to them. I suppose some are not the first Christian’s to have a difficulty with people hanging out with tax collectors and sinners.

Even in some NO Masses, those of other religions are offered to come up for a blessing but never, never have I seen this done without the sign of the Cross. It doesn’t do anyone any favours to claim denying the Cross as “sensitivity”. Dead wrong, right there.

A few years ago at a Methodist funeral that I had to attend the minister pronounced a blessing …he raised his hand and I thought he might make the sign … alas, no his hand fell … if they can’t stand the cross, then will the blessing merely reinforce the prejudices and errors of the non-believers? In other words, will it do them the slightest good? The sign is a prelude to evangelising, and it is the duty of ALL Catholics to do that …

The Pope has lost his way
If he didn't do a blessing with The Sign of The Cross, in The Name of The Father, The Son and Holy Ghost then it wasn't a blessing.
If he didn't invoke The Holy Trinity, who did he invoke? No one. So there is no blessing. A blessing is grace from GOD, but if the invocation is not there, becaused it hasn't been asked for from The Holy Trinity.
We have to ask, even beg GOD for the grace to flow. Jeus preached this Himself. "Ask and thou shall receive"! "Anything you ask in My Name will be granted by The Father"! Of course the usual conditions apply, if it's for the good of your soul and those you ask it for. GODS name has to be used in the supplication, otherwise you could be asking anyone, which is not a valid prayer of acknowledgement of The Glory of GOD!

I was at Knock mass again today and noticed plenty making the sign of the cross in their own way... For me it's forehead to naval, shoulder to shoulder and say the words with great dignity and respect. Some seem to do a circular movement around their chin or an inverted cross. It's been on my mind for quite some time. How to get this simple but revertant movement across to others without being judgemental.
We should try inspire people... be the change we wish for them. Im not perfect. Before we pray we bless ourselves. Do it correctly!

From the moment he was introduced to the world after his election, Pope Francis has emphasized his identity as “the bishop of Rome.”
Are we too quick to interpret others cynically? Have we forgotten how to give others the benefit of the doubt? Do we interpret cynically because ill-will dwells within us? Is Satan laughing at a church divided itself? I pray the answer in all cases is no.

One of the main thing that sets us apart from other Christians is the role of the Pope in our church. There are numerous factors that can be considered in this video as to what Pope Francis is doing here and we should be careful to jump the gun on matters related to our faith. The systematic hate of our current pope isn't from Catholics but secular media that found its way into the church as a means to propagate extreme(political not religious) ideology. You won't find somebody actively against the pope who doesn't hold to questionable conspiracy theories. To be Catholic is to be in communion with the pope, not the idea of a pope but the Pope himself. Pope Saint Pius X says "And just as our Lord Jesus Christ said of Himself: si quis diligit me, sermonem meum servibit [If anyone love me, he will keep my word,] to demonstrate our love for the Pope, we must obey him." I completely understand that the pope isn't perfect and he is bound to make mistakes, but how would we feel if every single action we took was carefully analyzed for the sake of condemning us? Are we perfect all of the time, are there times we stray away from church teaching ourselves? Well we sin and that's exactly what sin is so yes. Don't throw Did the apostles leave Saint Peter or undermine is authority after he denied Christ? No they didn't, but they loved and supported him, still acknowleding that he had a special role in church history. Trust in the both is trust that God puts his church in the right hands and always looks out for it. So let us take care not to defame our supreme pontiff because what does what does that tell the world about our church? It tells them that we're divided, that we can't come to an agreement of doctrine. It shows that our words of evangelization and peace shouldn't be taken seriously because we can't even find peace with each other.
