I can't thank you enough for taking the time to put this video together! The fact that you actually show the basics of how to use the software like inputing and organising the data, puts your video in a different league, DR. O'Loughlin!
Thanks Dr. O'Loughlin, this is the simplest and most straightforward video on how to conduct a One-way Anova that I have seen so far. I also like the fact that you show us how to export data from an Excel file and how to input data in the Variable view in SPSS. Extremely helpful!
This video was clear, addressed exactly what I needed to learn, and did not have unnecessary commentary! Thank you! When you are working hard on several problems and you get exactly what you need in a comprehensive yet streamlined presentation, it is a gift. I would take a course taught by you Dr. O'Laughlin. I am married to a man from Galway City, Ireland and your brogue added a touch a familiarity that I appreciated.
Hi Marianne, Thanks you for your kind comments, I'm glad you found the video useful. My "brogue" is a mix of Co Wicklow (where I am from) and Co Dublin (where I live). Best wishes, Dr E.
Alaaaasssss.....at last i found one good video on using ONE WAY ANOVA on SPSS. you really saved my time in recalling all my SPSS skills sir, i was searching for such a video for many days on INTERNET. HATS OFF TO YOU SIR🎩🎩🎩
Thank you so much for this. I have been struggling on how to input data from tables that were already provided for me and this made it all click after 12+ hours. Thank you!
This video was EXTREMELY helpful! The only video I've seen so far concerning SPSS that was clear and concise. You took the time to actually go through it step by step. Thank you!
Wow this has really been so helpful in my Doctoral analysis. I looked forward to testing and interpreting my hypotheses and this video refreshed my memory in doing so.
Thank you so much. We've started a new lab class in second year stats for psychology and I've just not been able to get my head around the way my lab teacher laid it all out. Thanks you for this 🙏
Thank you, thank you! I'm in Austin and I'm helping my son in Nashville via Zoom with his SPSS ANOVA homework. His prof did a poor job of explaining all the steps. You rock!
Thanks a lot for the clear video. I have a question. If I ant to check p value for two different groups (control and patients) in terms of Age, BMI, Blood pressure then how can I do this SPSS.
Thanks for this useful video! Can I run ANOVA test from T-test/ P values? I have been given an assignment which should have used ANOVA, but instead they used unpaired two-tailed t-tests, is there a way I can work out results from this data?
Hi Veronika, Without seeing your assignment I can't tell what you need. An ANOVA test is usually used to compare three or more sample means. However, it can also be used to compare two means, though it is more usual to use a t-test. Dr E.
@@EugeneOLoughlin thank you for your reply. The assignment essentially discusses an experiment which used t-tests instead of ANOVA (it includes three groups including the control group). Would you use a one -way ANOVA, or three way ANOVA for this? It was a between subjects experiment which tried to measure creativity based on a fluency test.
@@veronikawislocka7203 If you have three groups you should use a one-way ANOVA if you want to determine if there is a significant difference between at least two of the three means. A three-way ANOVA is a completely different test (it is looking to see if a three-way interaction exists). I don't see why t-tests have been used in your assignment. This test should not be used with more than two samples, eg comparing A with B, B with C, and A with C is inappropriate. Hope this helps, Dr E.
Hi Salman, The ANOVA test as I have run it here does not tell you this. All we can learn from this ANOVA test is that there is a significant difference between the means of at least two groups. The answer to your question is simple: use SPSS to generate Descriptive Statistics which will give you the actual Mean values for each group. The group with the highest Mean gives the best results. Hope this helps, Dr E.
I'm having a problem with my data. The thing is, each group's data is different from one another. Like, my first data has 10 numbers while the others have more numbers. Is there a possible way to use excel in this situation?
Hello Prof. Can i do one way Anova with individual Likert items (Measured on 5 point scale), which are part of a formative construct in my study? I am confused whether i can go with ANOVA, as Likert items are ordinal in nature. Request you to please clarify and provide an appropriate reference.. Regards, Karan
Hi Chef Berry, No - ANOVA should only be used on normal data. You can use the Kruskal-Wallis test - it is OK to use with vategorical data like yours. Here's a link to my video showing you how to do this in SPSS: ua-cam.com/video/W6110_EGTyY/v-deo.htmlsi=EcXE8jUKgu4hNkQN Hope this helps, Dr E.
@@EugeneOLoughlin Thanks, Prof. Shall i do this Kruskal wallis, after conducting measurement invariance test, specifically (MICOM) (during which i might have to remove some of the items because of their insignificant loadings. After this i will get the final set of items to be analysed in the study.. is that the correct way?
@@chefberrypassionateresearcher Hi Chef Berry - I would need to study your situation to be able to answer. However, I am retired for several years now and I'll have leave you to figure this out for yourself. Thanks for watching my videos! Dr E.
HIsir/All, In the post HOC tests output, can someone help me with some interpretation of 95% Confidence (lower band and upper band) and homogenous subsets. I did Post HOC test on my data but I am finding it hard to interprete the output. Thannks for your help
Thank you so much! Shout out to those doing their PhD analysis late into the night!
