Yes indeed..I have put about 50 SMD components on it this far. (Inductors, SMD Caps ,SMD Resistors) and it's been great. Honestly for the money this is a superb piece of kit! It's fast , simple and seems very accurate!
@@KeepOnTesting Haha, ok, I'm reading the spec for a similar tester now and it uses only a couple of millivolts so it probably doesn't matter. It's at least full moon proof :D

Hey Darren, just got mine too. I look for adapter polarity at the manual and at the DC adapter in jack. Mine do not say anything about that. Do you know the polarity? Is it internal or outer ring positive? Thanks for review. Wil be comparing mine to yours. Oh ya one more question. Does your came with the Croc probe? Mine didn't. Cheers.
Hello yustech, Internal DC adapter Tip=Positive / Sleeve=Negative, Yes mine came with an "ok" set of croc leads, your unit should have as well. If you didn't receive any I would contact the seller and request a set. Enjoy the unit, it's quite useful on the bench!
Hello, im thinking on buying this device because i like to repair thing and this version includes a smd tester, so i wonder if you tested any smd component?
Yes I've tested quite a few SMD components now and it's done an amazing job. It's fast and accurate and I'm using it almost daily on the bench! Highly recommended!!
Can you show how to test other electronic component using this device and how can you tell if its good or bad im new in electronics and i want to learn more :) thank you im ordering this now
Yes in theory, however no component tester can reliably test a capacitor in circuit. I would still remove a suspect cap from the board to fully diagnose.
@@KeepOnTesting SOT-23 sheathed compedant with RA written on it was added to the test device. NPN diode symbol 123=ECB, B=1 , Uf=1 , on the tester's screen. 1. 3V displayed. What is the name of this compedant ?
@10:45 I hope that is 0.49 milliohm ! Not 0.49 ohm. Dont trust that chart, dig up the datasheet for the cap being tested... I would like to see the test signal on a scope..
Unfortunately I could not find any details regarding the default test frequency for the BSIDE ESR02. I've scoured their website bside.hk/english/esr02.html but it remains a mystery. As the measurement voltage is only between 0.3 V - 1.3V on this unit I'm guessing 100 or 120Hz. Hope that helps!
According to the pdf www.tsf-radio.org/forum/im/264840254890ttester.pdf it uses 1 and 10 KHz signals as it cannot do 100 KHz which is normally used for ESR. This gives a higher than typical ESR result.
I agree the display is very small, however it does have excellent contrast and the display is very vibrant with the backlight on rendering it easy on the eyes.
I would say no, it's really designed for out of circuit testing. I think as far as accuracy goes, I would not do much in-circuit testing with this unit.
The DCA 75 is a couple hundred dollars. This model is cheap and still quite serviceable. Its definitely not the most accurate but it is worth the money.
@@KeepOnTesting Well you know the saying, I'm too cheap to buy crap, in other words the GM328A is better option then. But read russian forums, they replace resitors to precision resistors 0.1% voltage reg is replaced too. Yes indeed. I will be doing some circuit troubleshooting tutorials shortly. Welcome to the world of Electronics! Thanks for watching.
Hi. Does it have an ESR zeroing function? Can it also be used for in-circuit testing of Caps?
Unfortunately no zeroing functionality has been included in the ESR meter.
