Nintendo bout to be collecting my money after this awesome direct.
@Tangy Oranges Worth it for SoM alone, but the second game as well?
yes!!! ;)
Just picked it up for $20, hyped af
@Tangy Oranges these are huge rpgs that will take 10-30 hours. Plus trials of mana is basically new to us westerners and its one of the best games ever imo
Today: Collection of Mana
Next time: Collection of Mother...? If only...
Well good luck with that!! If the NPCs don't give Nintendo a hard time!!!
First off, two different company and secondly, "Collection of Mother" just sounds..... wrong... Especially if you don't know about the Mother/Earthbound games. ^^;
I feel like that game collection should be named Mother collection instead of Collection of Mother.
Now there's another Japan exclusive game with the number 3 in its title that could use some localization. Here's hoping.
oh, yes please!
Secret of mana 3 is a masterpiece! Totally worth it.
And it's getting a remake!
*Secret of Mana 2. The first game was released as Final Fantasy Adventure.
luís eduardo pereira I've never played any of those three games and know next to nothing about them, only that they are classics of the genre and are beloved by many. Would you recommend this collection (the physical version) to me/ someone that has never played them, or did they not age that well ? I'd be really curious for your reply :)
@@razorblade9907 hello, I recommend yes, but I do not know how faithful these games will be to the originals. the first was released for the original gameboy the monochrome. I do not know if it will have a color filter, the original did not have what I know. But it is a play, the story is simple and very direct, but the gameplay is varied and does not get bored. Maybe it's the hardest to recommend for all three. The second is a classic of snes, maybe the difficulty is a problem, the balance of the game is very disloyal in some parts, but the fact of being able to play in multiplay with up to three players is sensational, it is worth it that the remaster available in the Steam. The third is the best of the three fired, it was released for the snes only in Japan, but you find hacks in his English on the internet, it is the first time it will be launched in the West. For me it's the third best snes RPG just from Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger, and by very close to be honest. You have 6 characters, you can choose three, which gives a variety and causes an immense replay effect, except that the characters have evolutions inside the game. The graphics and sound are perfect and the combat has hit here the perfect balance between difficulty and fun. Anyway I highly recommend it.
@@TheIllustriouBlueJay Seiken Desetsu 3, whatever... Is a masterpiece anyway...XJ
I can't believe Seiken Densetsu 3 its finally in the west. So beautiful graphics in 90's and good plot. Legend of Mana would be welcome on Nintendo Switch too
Legend of Mana confirmed
This was an instant buy for me. Thank you so much for releasing this!
All we need now are the Mother/Earthbound games!!!
nah, Gaia trilogy (Soulblazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma)
yes!!
@@GiordanDiodato all the good stuff has to come!!!
Earthbound is really a good game storywise!
Nah
This is like Christmas. Only with most of the gifts not coming till later. Still, Mana collection!
Though I have to admit I died a little on the inside for the fact Secret Of Evermore isn't on this collection. And for the fact if you want physical you have to wait till the end of August.
@@matthatter56 Evermore isnt part of this or related at all.
@@Oh-Ben And honestly I knew at the time of writing that comment that I should have put in the comment that I knew why it wasn't. Having said that it doesn't change the fact I do wish it was in there. Even if it was an unlock after beating all the other games it would be cool.
Again I know why it isn't and I completely understand that. Also it doesn't change the fact that I am going to get this collection (physical edition) when it comes out.
Of all the Square/Enix games of the era I wanted here, this was one of two. Please please finally give us Terranigma!
Now we just need Legend of Mana and we're good XD
That's my favorite for real
True. Would be better if there is a remake
Ohhhhhhhh finally its real
Edit: after seeing Nintendo direct I find irony in this comment.
This will be the 3rd time i've purchased Final Fantasy Adventure, the 5th time i've purchased Secret of Mana... and FINALLY the first time i officially own Seiken Densetsu 3. Such a shame it took this long to come out here in the west, it's easily one of the best action-RPGs ever made. For all the nostalgia i have for Secret of Mana it truly pales in comparison.
This truly is the good future we have been looking for all this time, the universe can finally be at peace for all time
More than 20 years of waiting came into an end after this E3 😊
Everybody: “Give is Mother 3!”
Nintendo: *gives them Seiken Dentsetsu 3
I actually can’t wait for the Collection of Mana
In terms of story progression, Final Fantasy Adventure is about 4 hours long. Secret of Mana is about 10 hours long. Trials of Mana is about 12 hours long.
if you know the game 😩 i never beat them and rarely use UA-cam to progress so I be stuck at times for days lmfao
Carlie - Evil Shaman
Lise - Star Lancer
Kevin - Death Hand
Destroy everything in seconds
Beautiful team. Nightblade Hawk is my boy though.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so happy to play Seiken Densetsu 3 in English officially after all these years. The remake of Trials of Mana also looks very promising.
Already pre-ordered the physical copy! Secret of Mana 2 _alone_ is worth the $40 price tag!
seiken densetsu finally gets an english release
lets just hope trials of mana is a much better remaster than secret of mana
Between this, Trials Of Mana, and the DQ Hero in Smash...best E3 ever!
A spot on the SNES Classic
The upscaled Vita remake
The collection
Upcoming Remake
The Mana series is BACK!!!!
Now all we need is a good sequel
Great, now localize Mother 1-3 please and sell them as a collection!
To fully enjoy the original audio sound simply got to your Nintendo Switch sound settings and set it to Mono and enjoy playing on ypur tv. You're welcome. 😃
Man, we waited 25 years for Seiken Densetsu 3, or should I say "Trails of Mana". We get the remake, AND the original announced all in one day. I wanted this so bad, and to see it come to fruition. Brings a tear to a glass eye.
I wish Nintendo will someday re-release Secret of Evermore
You and me! That game is heavy underrated
You mean square enix
Its a quintet Game Published By enix like terranigma
When is Legend of Mana going to get some love? I feel like that was is extremely underrated.
My favorite mana game by a good margin.
RIGHT! wtf... that's like the best one imo
Its coming this year
Do a collection like this for the 3 GBA Fire Emblem games please.
I played the first game in this series as a small child, could NEVER remember what it was. Soo good.
I sure love Trail mix of Mana with my Seiken Densetsu 3.
And in a new name: Trials of Mana
It's the confusion of names all over again
All I can say is Thank You! I am filled with tears and joy.
Holy... SD3 officially released in the west?
Magos X 👍
@Smash 456 i think i'm on repeat number 6. I nearly passed out after number 5, when i booted up the game after purchasing it (number 4)
I love FFA/Sword of Mana and always wanted to play/beat Mana 1 and OMG MANA 3....YES!
THANK YOU NINTENDO ! THANK YOU SQUARE !
Going to be pre-ordering the physical version of this tomorrow. I am pumped, been waiting for this for a long time. Thank you Square-Enix, to this day you remain one of my favorite publishers.
I wish I could see Soul Blazer, Illusion of Time and Terranigma....
Hopefully this does well and they get the hint. We will buy SNES games because they're still fantastic story and combat. Everything isn't about flashy state-of-the-art cgi.
@@ktbarke indeed. Snes rpg era was the best, imao. We had Lufia and Secret of mana/evermore too. Man, those were good time. Memories....
I’m thrilled about these but at the same time, it’s hard to justify paying $40 for three old games when something like the Castlevania Collection had 8 games for $20 (one of which was Japan only).
It's £34.99 in the UK. Total rip off. Should be £18 at the most.
I'm so excited for this. I hope they do Legend of Mana, Sword of Mana, and Children of Mana next! Dawn of Mana would be sweet, too. It's the only Mana game I've not played so far. Heroes of Mana might be a bit difficult given it was a DS game.
Also if anyone reads this, Legend of Mana is my favorite. I hope there are others out there, but I know it isn't the most popular.
Im willing to bet they'll do a FF8/9 Remaster of it. A remake would be great, but if they somehow still have the assists still around I would love to see them backgrounds in HD.
Now do something with Terranigma!
Nintendo showed so much today they're still uploading content 😂😍
It's because nintendo is selling games while the other companies are trying to sell hype.
PLEASE WE NEED MORE MANA GAMES!!!!
😳😳😳😳😳 I think I just pee'd a little from the secret of mana 2 excitement
I think Trials of Mana is the best SNES game that Squaresoft ever made. I unironically think it is better than Final Fantasy 6 by miles, better than Chrono Trigger, better than pretty much any other JRPG on the console except maybe Tales of Phantasia. I'm glad this game is finally getting an official translation and people can see why the game had such a good reputation as a cult classic. And now, when people ask me what's my favorite SNES game I never have to say Seiken Densetsu 3 out loud again.
Seiken Densetsu 3 (Trials of Mana) is one of, if not, the greatest games I've ever played. I literally broke down into tears when they revealed it was being remade. Today is an amazing day to be alive!
Secret of Mana, Link to the Past & Mystic Quest were the holy trinity of my childhood❤ then came Ocarina of Time, Diablo and Baldurs Gate 2. So many great games 😊
Now we have the trilogy of the Seiken Densetsu series!
They should've included Sword of Mana (GBA) instead of "Final Fantasy Adventure". Speaking of which, they need to remake Sword of Mana on PS4 and Switch and do a Switch version of Secret of Mana (remake) since that one is on PS4 already.
I'm still waiting for the port of "Adventure of Mana" and "Secret of Mana" Remake.
I never knew I always wanted this.
Where's my "Legend of Mana" !?!? aka the best Mana series of all !!
A man of culture! That game was amazing and i miss it
Its coming this year
I've been waiting for an SD3 localisation...most of my life woah
Man...this makes my dream of there being a "lost RPG Gems" collection from square enix seem possible...
Bahamut Lagoon, Live-A-Live, Treasure of the Rudras...that would be awesome!
Still, thanks for these gems Square Enix!
seiken densetsu 3 was an amazing game I never got to play translated. I bought an emulator for Japanese cartridges on the SNES and found it on ebay in the late 90's to play with friends. Paper route money makes dreams come true. We printed out a shabby text of a translation, mostly to help us figure out what to do. The characters and art were top-notch.
I've never played any of these games, excited to try it out!
Secret of Mana and to a larger degree FF Legends has aged quite a bit but still are good. Trials of Mana is contender in the top JRPGS. It just never hit western shores so people never got to play it as easily.
Oh, that's probably why I've never tried them. I hope it’s as good as people say
nintendo is wildin all the way out right now jeez louise
Already preordered the physical version square enix shop and got a confirmation for the copy. So happy i shed a small tear.
I wish they had put Adventure of Mana, the remake of Final Fantasy Adventure on this.
Next stop: *Terranigma Remake!*
Yeah, _that'll_ be the day...
ToP and Star Oceans as well.
Sold! Just bought it!
All three of these are great games I never played as a kid. FFA is like a proto Link's Awakening. Secret of Mana could almost be mistaken for a GBA game. And Trials of Mana has great replay value. And they have that Edenic fantasy and adventure aesthetic making them really fun and beautiful. I was also pleasantly surprised noticing some sound effects and animations in Trials of Mana I remembered from Super Mario RPG. I'm pretty sure one of the enemies even has Mario's boing and Lucent Beam is Geno Blast. It was like finding a lost relative to one of my favorite games. Since Nintendo and Square are friends again, it would be really nice if we could finally get a physical, portable version of Super Mario RPG on the Switch, or at the very least a port on the eshop. I literally still have my SNES hooked up to my TV just for Mario RPG.
Yes, finally the original Secret of Mana is back. Thanks Square Enix. Just need next a collection with Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross and I'll be the happiest man. 😁
or how about the Gaia trilogy? (Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma)
Well it's official: After this announcement, all the major games/capcom Beat em up arcade games I wanted/hacked onto my SNES Classic are now all available via the Switch outside of a few.
Did they really localize Seiken Densetsu 3 themselves, or just take the fan translation?
Its a different translation. One character talks entirely different.
I am waiting for Chrono Trigger and Terranigma 😊
physical edition preordered at Best Buy and I still have GCU :)
Great to see these great classics officially released in the west but 39.99€ for this non physical game is a shame.
What is everyone’s obsession with physical releases? I think download versions are way better cuz you can’t lose them, you don’t have to carry them with you wherever you go and you don’t have to switch out cartridges every time you wanna play a different game. Also I think $40 is fine for 3 games. 2 of which are masterpieces and 1 of which was NEVER released outside Japan till now
@@zombiecupcake.8485 These games are masterpieces OK about that but these versions are running on emulators and are not remastered or improved technically. Square Enix always sell his non physical games way too expensive, especially his great classics. Downloading game has its advantages and price should be one of it.
Secret of Mana was too good😭👍
This was worth it... worth it...
It has been a long wait :)
This would be the best way for me to make a start to the franchise
I have been waiting for this translation for far too long. GIMMIE!
This is pretty cool but i still feel like they could have included legend of mana and sword of mana
i'm glad to see some people knowing legend of mana, by far my most favourite mana game! good graphics, music and gameplay, it's a bit underrated though
It so funny in Secret of mana 3, your 2 allies that you didn't control always attacking without dodging end up dying. You gonna fight the boss alone. but you keep reviving them inorder get extra damage on SS. But in the end if you already strong, you just do unlimited SS all the way.
About damn time! Now do Chrono Trigger.
And Chrono Cross, and then work hard to release at last the long-awaited Chrono Break 😊
I never really got into this series before. If this collection doesn't cost too much, I might check it out.
It’s $40
you get 3 games so the price is really good
I have played all 3. The original one in Japanese on the original Gameboy (LOL, somehow made it work, I can't read Japanese). Dunno how well it holds up nowadays, since this IS an OG Gameboy game we're talking about here.
Secret of Mana, I played the absolute crap out of, and one of my favorite SNES RPG's of all time (and with the SNES Mini, I legally own it).
Seiken Densetsu 3, I only played the fan translations, but finished the game easily over a dozen times. Octopath Traveler (you might have heard of it!) also has this system where you have multiple characters and branching storylines.
I don't know whether both Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3 are worth $40, since they're VERY old, 16 bit SNES era games. If you've never played them before though, and you like the genre, it could be worth it.
As for me, I'm gonna wait for the remake of Seiken Densetsu 3. That one looks utterly amazing.
So, the Contra collection that was also announced today has a big bonus gallery included. Does this collection also have any bonuses, or is it just the three games?
@@Morgil27 just 3 games not worth it
Ive been playing trials of mana. Its pretty good, but they should have brought back ted woolsey and force him to work under 30 days, just to have more of that authentic nostalgia.
There should be Collection of Mana 2.0. It would add the arranged soundtracks from the remakes specifically to music player mode, the Japanese 16-bit mobile phone version of Adventures of Mana, and the smartphone version of Secret of Mana, as well as a version of the original Secret of Mana with a variable width font and the English translation from the remake. They would be in addition to the originals. Trials of Mana would stay as is.
Yes
A remaster of these game would've been more appreciated, but that's just me. I am spoiled by the high-quality CG of modern days and can't go back to the pixelated days.
Nintendo: Look at all of these amazing games we're releasing during E3.
Square-Enix: Hey guys, we're localizing Seiken Densetsu 3 ... it's like localizing Mother 3 if Smash never introduced us to anyone from Mother/Earthbound.
Nintendo: Call it Trials of Mana, I'm sure it's not as big as half our games.
JRPG Fans: IT'S BEEN 3000 YEARS!!!
Banjo-Kazooie Fans: I KNOW!!! ... Wait, we're still talking about the return of Banjo and Kazooie to the world of Nintendo right?
I was always hoping this would be brought over!
IT'S SEIKEN DENSETSU SAN TIME BOOOOOOIIIIIIIIEEEEEESSSSS
thanks Nintendo for finally publishing this. SE was to lazy
I’ll do one playthrough of Adventures of Mana, one playthrough of Secret of Mana, and six playthroughs of Trials of Mana (one with each character).
And, only two years la...who am I kidding, one please!
Expensive!
Will the Japanese copy of the physical game get an english option now? I imported that game when it came out hoping it had localization like most of the switch games but have yet to play it due to it all being in japanese.
2 things that baffle me about this:
1. Why are they including the original classic Gameboy Final Fantasy Adventure rather than the updated GBA remake Sword of Mana (or why not both)?
2. Why, after letting its legendary reputation as one of the all-time greatest JRPGs never released in English grow for more than 2 decades, are they _finally_ releasing Secret of Mana II in English... under the different and unfamiliar name "Trials of Mana"? I mean I know it's not ACTUALLY a direct sequel to Secret of Mana, but we've been calling it that for more than 20 goddamn years!
「もっと多くの人が必要なので、このビデオをもっと
You did the thing, Square. It took nearly 25 years, but you listened to the fans and did the thing. You released the best game on the SNES/SFC in English. Wow.
nice, the originals, hope they do Legend of Mana next
Confirmed for this year
Collecting of my Money
Would be an instant buy but no money right now 😭😭😭
Now i'm secretly hoping for Mana x Smash for the next DLC
III II III I I’d be down for Randi in smash
Seiken Densetsu 3 babyyyyyyyy
Wait did they finally announce secret of mana 3..holy.
I'mma let you finish, but Terranigma was one of the greatest games for the SNES...bring it back!
Such good!
i wish they would bring sword of mana back i loved that game
Why not play the original? These games are the exact same as the original too. It's not like adding Sword of Mana to the collection would provide you a better experience.
Literally a hour ago i just got the physical copy for 10$ talk about a steal
I would like Sword of Mana on Switch!!!!
Final Fantasy Adventure IS Sword of Mana, though.
$40? I think I'll wait for a sale.
This looks a lot like chrono trigger. Looks fun
