This is definitely up my alley as well as I’m a truck driver. I currently have 2 Tamiya Ford Aeromax’s. That are in various stages of construction. Been into the semi trucks since 1999. Hopefully2023 I’ll have these trucks somewhat completed.

Originally I had thought of an Aeromax to do it up like a Bigfoot hauler but with the scale being 1/14 and that not playing well with the size of most solid axle monsters, I figured that wouldn't make much sense

I just came across a channel on UA-cam where a guy custom built a 1/10 scale MAN truck and a 1/8 scale truck and talk about some massive trucks. SBR RC TRUCK is the channel

Not gonna lie, I hate unboxing videos. But this is great. I get your excitement over this build. After seeing some of the Cross trucks, I've started thinking of semis.

Always wanted to build one of these as a kid as well and then built a black grand hauler a few years ago with every hop up. One thing I wish I did (saw it on a blog years ago), was drill a small hole through each cross member in the rear to cleanly run the wires. I can't remember if it was the grand hauler or MFC, but it came with a small black wiring room which neatly hid the wires in the back. Take your time and enjoy yourself.

That's a great idea. Since this was shot I've actually completed most of the mechanical parts of the truck and I'm about to the point where I'm going to be plumbing it with all of the wires. Running some through the cross members sounds like a solid plan to keep it clean! This is a really fun build so far.

I agree with you on Bob at hobbyconcepts, I had problems with a flysky radio, so I sent Bob an email & he was back to me with the solution in a matter of hours, impressive as I live in the UK.

    Pretty cool!!
I've always wanted them to make a 1/10 scale semi to haul a SMT10 around. That would be huge!!!! 😆
    Love the Cub Cadet!!!

Don't know why but this reminds me that I was dreaming about and searching for a lexan body like Big Pete monster truck for 1/10 solid axles monster truck chassis 😍

I need to find someone who can custom paint the hard plastic bodies of these trucks.

Just saying when this gets all finished it would be really cool to see it hooked up to the pulling sled 😛 just saying. Can't wait to see the whole truck all together though.

This truck will for sure make its way out to some TK races this summer, I'm sure. And I'll have to hook it to the sled!

I drive the 1:1 scale trucks, but I have one of these kits waiting at the local R/C place when I get home. Injora rims & tires, Beier unit on the way from Germany. Metal gears and shifters and a 21.5 brushless.
I'm looking at million-weight diff grease instead of spooling the diffs, but now -The Algorithm- knows what I've looked at, and it wants to sell me servo-locking drive axles and faux air ride suspension, but the reviews look like they were written by the same computer that ran the CNC mill that cut the parts in the first place, so I dunno
God, diving into this headfirst is gonna be a trip, though

    • @TriggerKingRC
      @TriggerKingRC  Рік тому +1

Ha, sorry to contribute to The Algorithm and all the crazy stuff it shows around that. I had heard about using million weight diff but in building most of the truck so far, the silly putty seems to work nice. I suppose the real test and when I have it under a load! I've seen those locking axles and while they are nice, I dunno that they seem worth it me as most of the time I have this truck out would be on the trail. Good luck on your build, I've had a lot of fun so far!

@@TriggerKingRC i think the best option across all driving styles would be three Torsen diffs, but who makes even one of those at this scale?

I wished that Tamiya had came out with various American truck models. Last good one was the Freightliner Cascadia.

Lol, I was thinking more like a newer Volvo VNL, Kenworth T680 or Peterbilt 579.
