How to get Flow Token and connect to Versus platform

Simple tutorial walk through of the process of converting USDT in Metamask to Flow Token.

So there are a few hoops to jump through, but if you can manage it then you will be ahead of others who can't be bothered. You can buy Flow direct on a couple of exchanges like Kraken of Houbi. You'll have to sign up for an account and there's currently exclusions for US and Canada not allowed to purchase. But if you already have Metamask and some USDT I'll show you how to get some FLOW.
First you'll need a Blockto wallet
There are 2 ways. Through Flow Port and through Blockto mobile app.
So for Flow Port
Using Google Chrome (I tried using Brave browser but I think it didn't like the popup or ad blockers) go to Flow Port port.onflow.org/
Click Sign up
Choose Blockto as provider
And theoretically.. Follow the user interface prompts to create a new Flow Account Address.
After you create your account, you should be logged into Flow Port. You can now see your account address in Flow Port
I had a little trouble with this hanging (maybe it was a popup blocker issue again, I don't know) so I did the mobile method.
So get a Blockto wallet. You can do this by downloading the mobile app. Go to their website and scan the QR code or just find it on the app store.
you sign up using your email address
Then just add a new token wallet by going to 'Manage Assets' "Add" search for Flow and tap the plus. You should now have a Flow wallet connected to your Blockto account.
For the next step you will need USDT in your Metamask wallet
There are a number of ways so I won't go into this. But you can use any exchange like Binance to purchase crypto then send it to your Metamask wallet, or you can buy Ethereum direct on Metamask in some cases and then you'll need to convert some of your ETH to USDT using a a platform like Uniswap.
So once you have some USDT - Tether
Convert USDT to tUSDT
so this is exchanging the USD stable coin tether on Ethereum blockchain into USD stable coin that is on Flow Blockchain.

Sign in with your Blocto email account (Flow wallet)
Connect your Ethereum Metamask wallet
Enable tUSDT account
Approve USDT
Teleport USDT to tUSDT
Takes around 15 minutes
Then finally
Convert tUSDT to FLOW
Click “Swap” in the upper left corner.
Fill in the amount of tUSDT you would like to exchange for FLOW. (I just clicked MAX amount)
Check the info and adjust your slipperage tolerance if needed.
Click “Swap” and confirm swap.
And done!
You can now come across to a platform like versus and you should be able to sign in and see you balance available.
