I always get a B for doing the exact same thing. I read somewhere that it depends on how fast you finish the mission with all objectives so I assume him getting rid of ground before air allowed him to get an S
I also believe that this mission depends on time, but I can't say for certain. Maybe it is also important that you keep a part of your air force alive (which you can't really influence) or make enough kills. Some of the S-Ranks were made with this assumptions. But I believe the main part of the rank for this mission is the speed.
Destroy the fleeing transporter at 0:30 and you should be clear. It's the only enemy that could escape and threaten this objective if it gets away so far I know.
I just tried to S-rank the regular mission and was able to in 4 tries. You have to be insanely fast. I was just done with the mission as the bombers arrived. I always thought that the EVO-missions are harder than their regular counterparts. It seems this doesn't apply to every mission. If it is requested I could S-rank the regular missions and upload them. :)
That is because of "bug" in the game - Every time I finished everything on regular version of this level I stay on the map for like 15 seconds before I get final message -> One fighter is on the corner of the map where you never go (on that stage) and he is flying in circles (that is where the bunch of grey buildings are) Maybe reinstal the game or so would help but I don't want to lose all those goodies I achieved 😂
@@Gargamel_mgm You're wrong. The final message will appear once all of the enemy ground and flight units are gone (not including enemy soldier units). When the allied airforce arrives or destroy all the ground units (not sure which), all of the remaining enemy fighter units will retreat leaving any remaining ground units for you and your allies to dispose of. The enemy fighters usually take about 15 seconds to retreat unless you and your allies shorten the wait by destroying retreating enemy fighters. The NPC AI in this game is more competent than most people give it credit for.
@@carefree4all1 I was talking about enemy aircraft - that aircraft bugged and it won't leave unless you go in that corner. When you aproach that aircraft, it vanishes
@@Gargamel_mgm I play the ps2 version an that doesn't happen to me. I usually ignore that as I complete the mission. Also I'm going to make an edit to my previous comment. To make the remaining enemy fighter units retreat, you need to either wait until the friendly airforce arrives or destroy all the ground troops. I'm not sure which.
I still get an A rank even if the ground forces are completely annihilated before the air support arrives.

This game needs to be remastered
I have tried so many times completing the secondary objective.

I keep getting A rank on the regular version and yet I got S on Evo
