  • How much does it cost to live in my Honda CR-V? I’ll break down my expenses in this video so you can get a picture of what my budget looks like!
    Also I purchased my 2004 Honda in cash, so that’s why I don’t have any monthly car payment :)
    Thank you so much for watching!

    I do house/pet sitting. Usually only have about 5 days a month, downscale so every thing I own is in my car. Spend those days traveling or visiting friends. I use rover and can go anywhere and find a job.

    Great video!!! I recently found you on youtube and started watching all of your videos from the beginning. I really appreciate your transparency on your numbers. It makes me realize I need to shop for a better car insurance price. I pay 440/6mon on an 06 Lexus SUV for liability only in KS. Ppl are saying you are homeless, but you are not!! You have found a way of living that works for you!!! Yeah, they might have an apartment/rental but they don't own that. They could lose everything from a neighbor being careless with a space heater or kitchen. I have 2 future posting ideas if you haven't done them already.. 1. Your battery/solar panel set up. 2. You talked about your budget and expenses, would you feel comfortable talking about your savings.. and/or what you do with the budgeted money that you don't use? Thanks.

    You go girl !!! Sounds like you have a better lock on your expenses than we do. My wife and I went into retirement May 2021 because the self storage company we worked for sold out. We have been living on 1500 a month, got a small raise from SS now 1550 a month. We are living the complete opposite of you, we stay home and don't travel at all. This mostly due to back issues I have, I need to change sleep positions and surface 3 times a night. Start on the recliner, then sofa, then bed. The 2 of us and 2 cats are breaking even. I had a start number of 59080 (debt - cash) and that's about where we are now. No savings but our home has increased in value 50-75k since we retired (but it's not for sale)

    What kind of medicine do you give your dog for her collapsing trachea? How were you able to get her diagnosed? I was just asking cause I'm not sure what my dog died of a few months ago but me and my wife suspect it was because of that. We took her to the vet 3 or 4 times in a span of 5 days. Each time we brought her in, she would act fine in front of the vet and didn't show any symptoms but at home, she would constantly gag I think. It seemed like it was hard for her to breath. She would make this weezing sound. She was older but we are not sure if she had a bad heart. The vet said her heart was fine. The night before we took her to another vet and they put her in a box with a dehumidifier and I actually think it made it worse for her.

    Very interesting, 11 years ago I purchased a house in Arkansas (for about 20k) and my monthly expense which included all the utility bills, water, electric, trash service, property tax, insurance for home/vehicle, food gas, everything combined was around $200 a month and I was working remotely and due to down-sizing of the company making about $214 a month.
    Yes I was spending about $30 a month on food and had to use old shower water to flush the toilet, but was able to pull it off.

      There's work to be done still...the neighborhoods outside of midtown need more help, and unfortunately the majority of the high wage jobs are out in the suburbs, but that's changing.
      Majority of the crimes here are targeted IMO..you always get random break ins and theft of course, but most of the violence stems from interpersonal relationships vs random victim crime. Just use common sense like anywhere else, and your cool.👍

    Top of that you not paying other necessary things like basically when you live in Brent you paying rent you paying bills and top of that all that money then one month right but if you come to compare whatever is the cost of living in a car not paying bill was not paying rent well basically ass up less than what you pay and living and rent okay so regardless however you think is less than you save up more money and if the car goes wrong of course you have to repair it and then keep on and keep saving and keep having money then in the long ride you will have eventually what you want to have or how so whatever it is that you want to achieve sooner or later so that's no no kind of that's a sacrifice that people has to go through just to see what they want or what you want to have or what you want to do

    Quick question: what pet insurance do you have for her?

  • @millionmasso
    @millionmasso 2 роки тому

    150 month phone ? U can get phone for 50 dollars a month with about 15gig of hot spot ... also dog insurance 65 a month is too expensive.. u can save that 75 dollars a month as an emergency fund it will more than cover any vet bill when time comes

    Did you say Marketplace for health insurance? What is that? Is it specific to South Dakota?

    • @BrookeandPippa
      @BrookeandPippa  2 роки тому +1

      The marketplace, like healthcare.gov. You can apply from any state, it’s the public health insurance option. I’ve used it in TN, IN, AZ, and SD. It’s what most people have to use that don’t get insurance from their employer. I’ve never had a job that provided benefits so I’ve had to use plans on there since I was dropped from my parents insurance.

    Hi Brooke! I’m moving into my Honda CRV in June, and your videos have been so helpful to me! I had a couple questions that I was hoping you could help me with? I saw that you put reflectix on your flooring, do you think it’s actually helpful? And did you do it to keep heat in or keep it out? And do you think taking your front passenger seat out was helpful in giving you more space? Thanks so much for your help!!

    • @BrookeandPippa
      @BrookeandPippa  2 роки тому +40

      Hi! I only used reflectix on my floor to help level it out because I took the carpet and seats out in the back while I was already living in here lol. I needed a cheap, easy, and fast way to do a ‘sub floor’. I then just covered it in duct tape so it was relatively waterproof for spills and such and so Pippa and I had something smoother to stand on. I don’t think it makes a difference at all in temp. Yes taking out the front seat allowed me to pull my bed forward enough to accommodate my fridge in the back so I can have a bit of a trunk kitchen. I have a video coming out on Friday that shows all of that!
