Passed Sec+ the PBQs were helpful and somewhat similar to the test. Just a tip for the exam find PBQs related to the objective like given a scenario install/configure/implement. Focus in the basics since the exam is time constrained.
Just recently passed my Sec+ test and wanted to give some thanks to you because your pbq videos were so useful. I actually barely passed and honestly think your videos were the reason I did so thank you so much!
Just passed the Sec+ a couple hours ago. Watched every PBQ video you posted, and it helped a lot to reason out and pinpoint a lot of the keywords on the exam. Thanks for the help!
Thanks for actually having good videos bro. Some people out there going through these questions are a net negative to study. They go over them with their flawed logic, making you question yourself. Then in the end they were wrong and you were right and you've now learnt something wrong you have to forget. Awful Respect king
Passed my Security+ recently! Thank you for all your help, I definitely felt like I crushed the PBQ's thanks to your videos! Appreciate all that you do and wish you all the best :)
This is awesome! I literally just tried this one on the site. Operational was also confusing to me until now. Going through your self pace course and it's very helpful.
For question 2, I think the category should be managerial, since it's coming up with a policy. I would also argue it's a corrective type since the CEO is essentially 'patching' the policy And question 3, in the 701 CompTIA official study guide, physical control is a category, and it should be a prevention type
I was confused too. I've been studying using Professer Messer and thought the categories were Technical, Managerial, Operational, Physical. Also thought that the type for that third question could've been preventative.
@@greertenery8415 I think I know the answer for this. It is because the 601 exam classify physical control as type but they changed it to categories in 701.
Thank you for your effort. In the third scenario, shouldn't the Control Type be Preventive instead of physical? Because Physical was not mentioned as one of the control types such as directive, preventive , etc .
Agreed, why the heck the Control type is physical in 3rd scenario? Based on comptia sec+ 701 Guide book: Control Categories are: Technical Managerial Operational Physical And Control types are: Preventive Deterrent Detective Corrective Compensating Directive can someone enlighten me?
Short and Sweet "Patch Notes" for folks: SYO-701 changes 2 things from SYO-601: 1. "Physical" is now a Category (no longer a type) 2. New type added: "Directive"
How is physical a control type, when physical is a control category according to Comptia?? And how is install a keypad entry not physical when it comes to category?? I’m literally looking at the 701 objectives as I type this…physical is a category not a type
Hi just wanted to ask if all your Sec+ PBQs are relevant for 701. Because I realized there's difference in the exams and I just wanted to know if I'm learning correctly
This is the PBQ for SY0-601, for SY0-701 the answers would probably be different. For example, Control Type in scenario 3 cannot be physical, because in the new version it no longer counts as such.
Physical controls is listed as a control category and not a control type in the resources I've used to study.. I get why it was the answer but there's a decent amount of confusion and inconsistency there
How is that a deterrent control?? There is something that needs correcting after something wrong is being made at the moment. I dont see how that could be deterrent
Creating an AUP is managerial not operational; the CREATION of the policy has nothing to do with daily operational activities since it's overarching for a company. If it was to enforce/implement an EXISTING AUP as the solution, that would be a different story for it to be operational. I think that scenario 2 has been overlooked causing unnecessary confusion. For both 601 & 701 versions.
This does not make sense to me. I thought 'Physical' was a control category. (It's even in the official study guide) so how can it be selected as a control type in this question?
are you studying for the sec+ 701?. This is an example of a 601 pbq i think, in the 601 objective list it states 'physical' as a control type instead of a category. i would recommend practicing sec+701 practice questions instead since they align more with the current objectives
Huh, I thought "yet" in question 2 signaled a compensating control. Like "we SHOULD have a content filtering SWG, but until that happens, can we at least ask them to stop?" There's no SWG in the remediations though so I guess not.
At 2:35 you said "managerial controls are things like creating policies and frameworks", but for scenario 2, you said that creating an AUP is operational.
Passed my Sec+ yesterday! Recommend that everyone watches all these PBQ video's! Thanks CyberKraft!
agreed that is why I failed the first time

Just wanted to say thanks for your videos! I used them while preparing for my Security+ test and I passed on my first try today!
Congratulations! Which exam did you take 601 or 701?
@@IhvJoY259 I took 601

Thank you, Cyberkraft! I passed the Sec+ 701 yesterday on my first try, and your videos really helped me learn how to analyze them.

Thank god for this, i was completely lost on some of the other PBQ’s lol. Have you done videos for all of the PBQ’s?
This is awesome! I literally just tried this one on the site. Operational was also confusing to me until now. Going through your self pace course and it's very helpful.
I like that he was flabbergasted by the CEO's carelessness 😂😂

Just passed my exam and these videos were amazing! Thank you so much for your support in helping others succeed.
Just passed sec+, thank you for providing such great and informative content. I truly believe your pbq walk-throughs helped enormously.
Congratulations on passing!
I really enjoy the way you break down the questions AND answers!
Confusing... Based on the exam objectives Physical is a control category and not control type??
Same. With DION, 'Physical' is listed as a category and not type, maybe they changed that around for 701, not sure though
@unplugged301 they didn't change it for 701, certmaster just sucks apparently. Both the second and third scenario are wrong.
There are many concepts that COMPTIA explains that are too similar. 😂
Thanks so much! Used your videos in combination of Professor Messor, Dion tests and other youtube question videos to pass 601!
Thanks for explaining Opertaional!!!
For the Last question.Physical and Managerial are in the the same class. *CATEGORY*.Why did physical control pass as *TYPE*
I was confused too. I've been studying using Professer Messer and thought the categories were Technical, Managerial, Operational, Physical. Also thought that the type for that third question could've been preventative.

Based on comptia sec+ 701 Guide book:
Control Categories are:
Technical
Managerial
Operational
Physical
And Control types are:
Preventive
Deterrent
Detective
Corrective
Compensating
Directive
can someone enlighten me?
Oh my bad this sample is for sy 601
I agree. And also, how is a keycard a managerial control? It seems technical or operational to me.
im taking my test in a few hours and i just started watching these
i wish i started watching them yesterday
how did it go? I have mine in a few days
@reemachila7899 i passed my sec+ I actually got 2 pbqs that were very similar to the ones he did
passed yesterday. Your PBQ question guides helped a lot. Thanks 💪

AUP is a policy. Its acceptable use of policy.
