Very beautiful! I can already imagine what it will sound like. Thank you that you didn't cut out where you made mistakes. I think that's the interesting part to see where it gets difficult and how you solve it.
Thank you! I keep all the mistakes just to remind myself to trust the process of practice. It encourages me whenever I feel frustrated. I took a hiatus from practicing this song 3 months now and just recently played it again. Technical difficulties are still there but at this point, I can look past it and express the music more freely.
Interesting though! I honestly never thought of it this way, playing slowly was just a means to get to the ideal tempo. But now that I listen again, I would agree it does have its charms played slowly.
this was on my recommended and wow that piano sounds so beautiful im literally in awe also i love how you're posting these videos its a really good idea. im def subbing
Thank you so very much for posting this. I played this piece on my Masters recital some 30 yrs ago. I’m working on it again. Not only is your slow practice beneficial to watch, the lack of tension in your playing is remarkable to watch and take in. God’s Speed to you as you continue to grow in your playing & digestion of this remarkable discipline known as Music. .
Wow 30 years ago! I’m sure revisiting this piece would be a meaningful journey and bring back lots of good memories. I would love to hear your rendition and thoughts on revisiting a piece 30 years later, how your interpretation or perspectives have changed.
Thank you so much for posting this - it's been really helpful! - I've finally started to learn this piece after half a century of playing the piano and I didn't really know how to start until I saw your video. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to hearing you play more. Mortimer Rhind-Tutt
Totally get what you mean! I heard the piece at full speed and it was daunting- can I really get there and master it eventually? Breaking down the piece into short sections was painstaking and slow sometimes, but for the love of this piece was worth it and paid off eventually
Yes I managed to get that up to speed. I practiced really slowly until I was familiar enough to “feel” the notes “solidly” in my hands even when I was away from the piano. Being conscious of any tension in my arms also really helped too.
Yes, please try to correct the composer's name in the title. It looks bad that the name of a world famous composer is written wrongly whose music is just being played in the video. (I am a Hungarian and would like to see the name of Ferenc Liszt correctly.)
Awesome. Even though this isn't 'regular' speed, it still had it's own niche. How long did it take you to come to this skill level and how is your speed, roughly a year later, now?
I learnt the piano from young but had a long hiatus in between. Prior to playing this piece i had resumed playing the piano for about 3 years. I took this piece up at the start of the pandemic around Mar 2020 and took about a year to polish it.
There’s no full tempo set in stone. But to play freely, without mistakes, at a tempo which fits my interpretation that day is still a challenge for me.
I think this is the only way to listen to this beautiful piece of art. Love it, this time it can't rattle past me. Thank you.
So beautiful song & women. from thailand ❤
Beautiful your study. Little by little you build perfection within yourself and little by little you get there.
Keep it up.
I really can’t wait for you to play this at full tempo! Your playing even at slow tempo is fabulous. Great job Esther 👍♥️
Find Annie Zhou age 13 playing this piece here on UTube and you will be quite pleased

So many people don't understand how important slow practice is.
Agree
Oh my goodness it's so beautiful I love it just being slow! It sounds like a cinematic piece at this tempo
Interesting though! I honestly never thought of it this way, playing slowly was just a means to get to the ideal tempo. But now that I listen again, I would agree it does have its charms played slowly.
Bravo.

Thank you for sharing :) I wish one day I could study that song too
So beautiful, good study
Best to you 💜
If you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly
Hahahahajajaj cof cof twoset violin
hearing it slowed down especially since you didn’t take out the parts where you made mistake makes me really wanna practice this piece more!!
Totally get what you mean! I heard the piece at full speed and it was daunting- can I really get there and master it eventually? Breaking down the piece into short sections was painstaking and slow sometimes, but for the love of this piece was worth it and paid off eventually
I don't know how this got recommended to me, but nice job! Keep it up! You are doing very well!
Sounds nearly identical to how I practice!
Awesome, keep going!
Did you perfect at 7:46 after 20 months and what was the secret to making it sound like the rest of the piece?
Yes I managed to get that up to speed. I practiced really slowly until I was familiar enough to “feel” the notes “solidly” in my hands even when I was away from the piano. Being conscious of any tension in my arms also really helped too.
@@Estherspianojournal Can you do a recording of the section of the piece as how you play it now?
@@JohnSmithExtra I have left this alone for a year now! My latest recording is Sep 2021. You can check it out in my playlist
Yes!
^..^~~
Uau!
whered you get your sheet music from? is it in a book or did u print it online
Got it from Imslp. imslp.org/wiki/3_Études_de_concert%2C_S.144_(Liszt%2C_Franz)
Un sospiro from the my grandfather

The spelling of the composer is not correct in the title. It should be LISZT. A Hungarian composer:
FERENC LISZT
Yes I realised this in my Sep 2021 progress video.
