    About GromGeekz - Originally from North Idaho, I traveled around car camping in 2020 and ended up in northern Arizona. After settling down a bit in late 2023 I traded some stuff for my first ever motorcycle, a 2015 Honda Grom. Ever since then I’ve been hooked and want to share my passion!

    Change the oil religiously and keep the chain/sprockets clean, the Grom is bulletproof. I have over 30K miles on my 2018 (stock) and I commute it daily, year-round. Have fun!

      @@GromGeekz I have had only *1* thing break which was a blown rear bearing. Other than a few aftermarket things (chain adjusters, chain/sprockets, mirrors, tires) It's all stock. Great little bike :)

    That wobble you were mentioning around 6:30- I'm pretty sure it was the wind catching your phone and tugging on the bars. If you center it a bit more or ride without a phone, I'm betting the wobble will be gone. 👍

    I have the Cherry Red Grom and live in Scottsdale. Just ordered the 149cc DHM kit with Cam. I also have a couple of friends that live in Sedona too and will bring it up there sometime so I might see you on the streets!

    7:55 great exit, good turn and the downshifting is great, but when you said "i really give it the juice" and I watched the speedometer, I started to literally laugh out loud. I don't mean to be rude and I'm not a grom rider but I'm just not used to that acceleration rate. either way, great way to carry momentum up that hill.

    Sometimes even new Hondas come without proper wheel balancing. Go to the dealer. If it's a new bike, they should do it under warranty. Unless you nicked the wheel on a curb or something and damaged it, but if it's like that from the factory, they should fix it.

    I've been asking around about the GROM's cruising speed... This video gives me my answer...(55-60 mph seems to be a proper speed for this bike...Yes?)

    Nice Vids - I appreciate that it’s not another stunt GROM video with wheelies. I’m planning to get a Honda Grom when I come back to USA next year - probably the 2025 version. I would be using it for local commute in San Diego and backroad trips. Being 5’6” and 120lbs, I’m hoping it fits me well. Normal bikes are too big, heavy and powerful for me. Also, I’ve got no interest in driving on freeways. This will be my first bike, though I have experience riding old 110cc Hondas while traveling in Asia. What’s your opinion on ABS for the Grom? Worth it or a waste of money? I believe it adds about 3lbs of weight. In general, I’m not a fan of adding complexity that’s not necessary - but braking seems important enough that I may make an exception. Thoughts?

    • @GromGeekz
      @GromGeekz  9 місяців тому

      The abs is not worth it. Unless you are a nerd about the groms. It’s useful but not a deal breaker for a grom. They are a beast of a bike with no abs.

    how accurate is the speedo on the grom? I know with my 2022 Honda CB650R the speedo reads about 10% faster than real speed (example i go 100km/h and real speed is like maybe 91-92 km/h) and thats normal with a lot of honda bikes seems like.

    drop the right mirror to reduce wind drag and you don't really need it.

    I'm anything but new to motorcycles and I have 2...
    If you think that's the better version "more torque bro...", you have no clue what you're saying. That's Euro5, and lame as f*ck.
    I have a 2013 one, stock, yours with "more torque bro" can't keep up with me.
    If you really want to spend money on it, be smart, change the tyres. You being new to bikes, Pirelli is not the best choice, go for Bridgestone. All the others, don't bother wasting your time even looking at them. I've used the factory IRC and VEE-rubber, Continental, Metzeler, Michelin, Pirelli and Bridgestone. What do I know to be talking about tyres... facebook specialists are the ones you need to listen to.
    Next, suspension. Forget (or not, up to you) the UA-cam university courses on how to improve the forks, the only improvement is changing the springs.
    That amazon special exhaust, will probably fall apart, leak... Seen a few.

      @zefautino 9 місяців тому +1

      Oh, and on a trip I wore the tyre all the way and had to get an emergency tyre. The only one the people trying to help me were able to get was a Deli Tyre... Don't ask, because I didn't either, I just needed a tyre that would keep air, so I paid and thank them without questions. Stay away from those too.
