I practiced Buddhism in high school. I was already interested in it and then my grandpa died and I found out that he practiced Buddhism as well so I really threw myself into it. I don’t actively practice it anymore but I try to incorporate Buddhist ideals into my life every day. The ideals which I feel most connected with are 1. Do what makes you happy as long as it doesn’t hurt others in the process. 2. You are your own god and your own demon. Your mood and mindset can make life heaven or hell for you. I went to China when I was 9 years old to adopt my sister. I spent the months before learning Mandairn so I could somewhat communicate with her. I remember once she was panicking and saying a word over and over again and my parents didn’t understand what she was saying and I said “she needs the bathroom!” I would love to go back now that I’m older and that I have that knowledge of Buddhism and just a general better sense of traveling. Also I’d love to have that authentic Chinese food again. Nothing compares. Truly. Lol I hope you’re having the time of your life. Your travel blogs are the best. They are always stunning.

I’d love to go back myself and see more of the nature side of the country. My family has always had their Chinese traditions but never really practiced Buddhism much when I was growing up but being able to experience that there was so powerful

I took a world religion class back in high school, as well as visiting a Buddhist temple one time, so watching this vlog was a nice refresher of what I’ve learned about Buddhism. I’m not a Buddhist myself either, but being immersed in the culture and learning more of their beliefs is very intriguing! I love learning about different cultures and being able to experience it in some way. The shots you & Andy took are breathtaking! Nanjing is so beautiful 😭😍 the lights surrounding the city and the Buddhist museum(?) is what stood out to me the most. They’re so pretty when they shine all different colors! #💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
