  • This video contains two recent rated matches I had with the LV2 Kapool on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 500-550 cost general with outstanding stagger accumulation, very high HP, great melee damage and powerful ballistic output. Its weaknesses would be that it lacks an instant stun to respond immediately to an enemy, but it makes up for this by how powerful its missiles are. I think that people have forgotten just how good the Kapool is, I think that it is absolutely amazing at stopping raids. It offers a constant barrage of stun accumulation along with high melee damage which can easily shut down a raid without much effort. The first match in this video was a loss because of a bomb being planted, while the second match was a win although I had some unfortunate instances of causing friendly fire. Both were still really high damage games, so I hope that you enjoy watching!
The primary weapon of the LV2 Kapool is a body missile launcher with 525 power, 8 ammo, 300 RPM, 8 seconds reload, 0.77 seconds swap, 355m range and 35% stagger value. This weapon basically works like the Zaku Marine SubRoc gun or Jegan's shield missiles, but with double the ammo and with the ability to fire while boosting. You can stop regular suits in 0.6 seconds with 3 missiles, or raids in 0.8 seconds with 4 missiles. You can just shoot using these but if you develop a sense of timing, you can easily combo off these into a downswing for massive damage. Make sure to try and only fire as many missiles as you need to stun or else they will likely dodge roll away. This has short reload time, but you can plug the gap in with eye beam shots while you wait.
Its primary melee weapon is a set of claws with 2520 power, 2 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap, 90% side swing modifier and 80%x2 down swing modifier. This has a unique moveset which can be hard to adapt to at first, but it can do really great damage against just about anything. It has fast cooldown and swap time so once you get accustomed to it, it has many advantages over traditional beam saber melee weapons.
Its first sub weapon is an eye laser beam with 367 power, 11% heat, 210 RPM, 18 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap, 250m range, 1285 DPS and 30% stagger value. This staggers in just 4 shots and has great heat consumption, so if you manage the heat properly then you will always have this available as a stun option. This lets you have a constant barrage of stun accumulation regardless of if your missiles are reloading or not.
Its second sub weapon is a waist megaparticle cannon with 945x6 power, 100% heat, 30 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap, 250m range and 1.5 seconds focus time. This has incredible power and shoots a stop to fire heavy staggering piercing beam, but you must stop to focus it. The short range can make it hard to use, but if you can ambush an unaware enemy around a corner or use it to finish off an enemy somebody else is fighting, it can be incredibly powerful.
The LV2 Kapool has 21000 HP, 28 ballistic resist, 15 beam resist and 27 melee resist. It is rather durable when it comes to ballistic weapons or melee fighting while also having a gigantic HP pool, though it has low beam defence. This isn't a huge issue if you have complex expansion unlocked, since you can then fit on 41 beam armour. Kapool has the outstanding combination of both LV1 Maneuver Armor and LV1 Emergency Evasion for defensive skills. The maneuver armor easily lets you close the distance while firing your missiles, so make sure to abuse it as much as possible.
Kapool also has 125 (128 with ground affinity) walk speed, 205 boosting speed, 65 thrust and 63 (69 with ground affinity) turning speed. Walk speed and boosting speed are a little low but not completely bad or anything. It is a completely manageable level of mobility, especially since the high turning speed makes tracking targets easier. It also has LV2 Forced Injectors so it can actually juke enemies or re-align itself better than you might expect.
Overall I think that Kapool is a massively underrated suit that deserves recognition as one of the best 500-550 cost generals. It has a surprisingly easy time when facing off against powerful raids such as Schuzrum Galluss, Nightseeker Space Type or Zee Zulu due to the great stun accumulation. It is pretty much the ideal suit to deal with MA equipped suits in general, so it has great match-ups across the board considering how common this skill is. It is rather difficult to learn at first since transitioning from stun accumulation to melee can be awkward, but with enough time and effort I think that you will find it very good indeed. I can heavily recommend it if you want a suit that easily stops the often overbearing raids found in this cost range. Thanks for watching and I hope that you enjoyed it!
