Absolutely love this Damian. As a fellow educator, I relate to all of this and the overwhelm that initially happens with a new big project! I love the way you’ve linked this into learning bass as well. Lots of gems in here 👌
I've noticed that people play for a variety of reasons. Some for ego or local fame. We've all known talented quick learners, animated performer guys who never progress beyond the battle of the bands stage of playing. Others for an easy buck / free beer/ sex partners, various motivations but not musical. But to practice daily for for your whole life [me 40+ yrs.] ,you need to be blessed with a certain demeaner. That's a huge gift. You have to absolutely love playing your instrument. If you are an artist, of any medium, you are compelled to paint /play/ create daily, not only when you have a paying gig. There will never be an arrival or a total mastery for most, I think just the ability to express yourself fluidly changing your expression as you mature. Thanks, always inspired and insightful videos.
