I really appreciate the update! I was let go from Dneg back in July last year and still struggling to find another gig ....
It's been rough. Some of the best artists I know have been out of work a really long time.

I don’t think it will recover, and when it does, the teams will be far far smaller.
I worked at cinesite montreal and they really suffered - I was let go but I've heard the work culture has unfortunately changed as a result
I work at a studio that is quite large and in the same city. My whole team was let go very recently Gives me zero faith in this industry, atm. Not sure how this will affect the future but for now it looks pretty grim.

May 2024 , still waiting for some VFX studio in Montreal for hiring compositors. been out of work since July 2023 😒
Dude what about freshers will they take freshers?
@@BlackPanther-n4j I don't think so, i'm also in MTL looking for job as compers. They'll probably take seniors that can manage to do they're job and also junior jobs faster and better. It's all money management.
so from summer it will start to hire for asset and animation ppl
