I've been trying to get this video made and released for several weeks now, so I hope you find it helpful! Please do leave any of your own tips for people to enhance their build-making capabilities below 👇
The amount of builds you can make in Division is actually insane. From double heal all red builds, full tank support builds, hybrid yellow/red, Haz pro/status effect, full red support heals and I could go on all day. I ran the builds section in my clan’s discord and there was never a short of options for the next build I wanted to make and post. One of my favorite moments in this game was running into @IamFox and spending a fair bit of time just talking about build theory crafting.
Thanks Rogue, you really are more appreciated than you think. You don't throw out build stuff every week, you keep us informed. About all D2 news, last video was Gold.
Wow, thank you so much for the generosity!! I stick to releasing videos I care about, and want to inform people on. So I very much appreciate the kind words 🙏 Thank you!
Nice video. I think another key factor when doing a build yourself rather than just copy and pasting from others is getting to understand WHY it works. Yes most CCs do explain the ins and outs, but everyone learns differently and putting something together and testing it for yourself I find is often the best way to get a feel for what works and why. I just wish we had a LOT more stash space, because there's so many potential permutations of any given item that it makes build experimentation in this game truly daunting at times.
Yes to stash space! I play 4 characters a 40, an experienced 30, a boosted 30 and mid range 30 and I feel like I’m deconstructing too much good gear to save space. Although I do utilize the bench for the library and proficiency, as well.
Love your content, bro. I only recently discovered The Division franchise in June of this year and to say I've fallen into the SHD abyss is an understatement. I frequent your channel and have enjoyed binging a litany of your stuff. Keep it up.
That's so awesome to hear! Glad you're enjoying The Division, there's lots more they've got in the pipeline. Thank you for the kind words and super happy that you're enjoying the videos 🙏
If I were to give a tip to beginners in the game, go straight to the dlc right away, and then focus on yellow builds, they are usually easier to do since one of the rols is always a skill tier, So making it easier to start the game, I myself started with a status effect build, and with it I managed to do all the legendary ones. When I was at lvl 30 and without the dlc I did my builds myself, I even built a sniper rifle that killed all hunters with a single shot in the head, nowadays I look for a lot Builds out there, at the moment I'm building a hybrid since I got my ninja bike and now I have pretty much all the exotics, named equipment and blind zone items. The meta of the game is literally you who make it, you can create so much stuff to use, that for me is the fun part of the division, putting builds together and playing with people around the world using them. The only thing I really don't know how to do is create pvp builds, it's really not my forte but one day I'll make one using the horn I got from a player in a legendary one, thanks friend.
Thanks so much for your videos. I have been playing since August 2023 and have viewed many vids but none are a concise as this one. I am guilty of copy/paste/go and never really understanding it. You have shed new light on this. I will be watching this one over and over. Cheers!
haven't reached level 40 yet, but definitely planning to make a dps tank hybrid build when i do. thanks for this video, your channel has been helping me a lot recently
@@slavicbruh941 Just wanna throw in my two cents on this topic. A DPS/tank hybrid is a good place to start but you need to look at it deeper. How many armor cores do you want to run with? What type of weapons do you want to use on your DPS/Tank hybrid build? Which brand set do you want to incorporate? Do you have enough crit chance and crit dmg mods to help boost your stats? Which specialization do you want to use? etc. It's a bit daunting considering you haven't completed the DLC but when you do, that's when the real fun begins. It is very different from level 30 endgame and there is a lot more to do to polish up a starter build. Feel free to reach out yeah? We have a welcoming committee to help the transition from lvl 30 to 40.
Great intro to how to make a build. I couldn't agree more with your point about making a build that works for you. My favourite piece in D2 is Everyday Carrier. As Frank's Red Hot says, "I put that s*** on everything."
@RogueGold Thank you! for taking the time to make this kind of videos literally this video anwers most of my question on how to make a gear build and i have copy one of your build which has work for me a skill build
This was really helpful. I decided to take a break from division 2 because thinking of building is overwhelming. This definitely did give me so assistance with making builds a lot easier.
Thanks to you i now understand the build world in this game a lot more and better. Amazing video man. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this video!
I LOVE when content creators make structured vids like this explaining not what exactly to do, but rather explain the thought process behind it. By far the best build guide I've seen. Thanks.
My one stop Divison content creator. Keep going youre literally putting this game on your back. If you want to add any other games on your channel we WILL be watching
This actually helped! I wanted to be a person who uses Saint Elmo's, but instead of trying to focus on one target, I focused on both shocking and bleeding targets, so the group will stay shocked, while my exotic chest piece will BOTH give armor, and spread a bleed affect. I think its good! Thanks Rogue!
@@RogueGold Hey, I just thought about some changes I could make to my build! I can get rid of the typical Striker's set, and apply ANOTHER status effect through the Hunter's set! Im currently using the courier backpack right now, but if I needed even more DPS, I could just equip the backpack that makes you have EVEN MORE damage by applying a status effect. Finally, I decided that I could probably drop a red core for a blue core, giving me more survivability. Im breaking free of the norms thanks to you!
Absolutely agree on putting you're own spin on things. When double companion came out i frantically going around saying no!!!! It's putting you in a very situation position, so i experimented with different talents and found vigilance Absolutely complemented perfect companion, because you had the best of both worlds, then i thought, well since I'm having a ball follow me around make use of it, so put on incoming repairs, mods, and now thinking why not a full regen build using these two talents and have a crap tone of survivability and dmg, so that's what I'm working on now, was doing a perfect blood sucker with intimidate, still may keep that as I'm still working on it. But i think i can come with a regen build that has the dmg to match, because often with regen builds you do have to take away some crits, so yer, build diversity is what mainly keeps me in this game, plus i just love it, but building a build that's your own is no feeling like it, ofcours i use templates at times, did with the perfect blood suckere, but changed a few bit for my playstyle, ill happily run and gun, but I'll also happily take advantage of the cover we have.
The mantra that I've been living by is "how will I do my damage and how will I survive?" every time I come up with a new build idea. It's the question that you posed in a previous video and honestly it's the best advice I've gotten in the game ever. It's how I got 2 super powerful status effect builds (burn and bleed) plus an insane crit/Dark Winter build with 59% CHC and 192% CHD even with 1.4m armor and Unbreakable. The beef I have with the turquoise brand sets is that many of them rely on certain variables and require proc, while my general playstyle is just no-nonsense raw damage with no requirements to proc bonuses. I don't want to be micromanaging my builds and have to think about every step I take to proc the brand's talents. That's why I stick to regular high-ends with some named items thrown in if they boost my stats, and almost always insta-junk the turquoise stuff. And don't forget the firing range as a first gear testing ground!
I have taken some of the builds I see here and just tweak them a little to be more comfortable with my play style. Trying to come up with some of my own is the fun part.
Here's a big one. When you make builds, don't let someone else tell you that it doesn't work or it's wrong. It's just a build that doesn't fit them. If it fits you, and you enjoy it for what it is. Then you made a good build. Another tip, exotic weapons are fantastic glue to a build. Look at it's stats, what it does, the seperate attributes, and even the negatives! Look at those and go: Okay, how do I make this work? A fantastic example is Big Horn. An exotic AR that has terrible stability but fantastic damage output to the head, so make a build around quick stacks and braces or some weapon handling, and you'll find that weapon is a beast.
You explain things so well. My friend wanted to understand why I play this game. And I showed him this video.. he still thinks we're all crazy and this is too much.. 😂 I mostly wanted to say thank you for being awesome. And that you explain things very well. Our Community is lucky to have you. 🤘 Happy Hunting Agents: Atlas "out" ✌️
Division is my favorite looter shooter because I can make almost any build I want no matter how dumb it is and make it work in most content. I have so many different healer/support builds using tank or dps gear sets just because I can. My favorite is my True Patriot healer or all the different Hard Wired builds I have to spam abilities
As someone who used to play a TON a while back, coming back to this and realizing that I understood everything you were saying at one point without having a degree in advanced mathematics is incredible to me 😂😂
For many starter, you can try someone build, but it's better to try to understand the concept and break down each gear. Because you can learn a lot from it and even able to adjust to your own liking and playstyle. Which will greatly improve your build and make it much more enjoyable to play. Rather than just get this and farm that and done with expectation or disappoint. I was once try meta turret and drone but feel too much inactive so I throw a ton of red attribute in it and volla, highly aggressive tech fox. Running from cover to cover like ninja and assist my tank teammate side by side.
Thanks for making these vids Im World tier 3 ,Gear set 388 and new to the game, and gettin a bit discouraged on getting higher damage weapons , im trying hard and gettin wooped on final battles 😂
i love the game, but sadly i didnt play much in last weeks, at least we got not long time ago some news about upcoming seasons right? That's good i will finally try game today again, hopefully it has better performance than they screw up month ago with patch too. Before that i could easily launch and play game for 3 hours and had fun. Soon i will finally buy Ryzen 7 5800x3d CPU after years having not best PC for games because for some reason i didnt do it month ago. Big love for you channel and constant videos
Good vid. A lot of what was said in this video is everything I learned the hard way, but also a lot internet hunting as well. I do tend to stick with something that works good in the short term. For instance, I usually stick to the same 3 skills…shield, hive and drone. They do seem to work well for my run and gun style. Having said that, what build do you recommend that’s a good blend of armor and weapon dmg? I seem to come up short with my builds being either one or the other instead of a good combo.
This is my go-to PVE setup, and you could certainly add 1-2 additional armor cores to it for increased survivability! 👉 ua-cam.com/video/3lH-hL4hTxQ/v-deo.htmlsi=YlrUKaB4rxWqedrM
@@RogueGold true, I play with a friend that does an all red core build. Tempts me sometimes, but a strong drone appeals to my laziness when there's that one last enemy to chase down lol. Great guide though
I know this video is old, and my question answered, but I would like some insight for weapon perks. such as players using damage to armor or other players using damage to target out of cover, so builds dont have to solely carry your weapons or gun play style, and what perks on some guns like exotics or high end are some recommended starting points, or popular endgame picks for things like heroic activities and above? I am still some what confused on the what or why they would use those perks.
Hey! If I'm understanding your question correctly, are you referring to the 3rd attributes on weapons, that can roll with a variety of bonuses? If so, Damage to Armor or Damage to Targets out of Cover are your two best options in the vast majority of scenarios. Reason being they are both multiplicative damage bonuses, and statistically simply outclass the other options in that category by such a wide range that it just doesn't make sense to use other stats except for some very fringe circumstances
@@RogueGold Yes on the 3rd attribute, because I didn't know that they were multiplicative damage bonuses and it also makes a lot of sense on why they do a lot of damage to enemies even on higher levels. Thanks for replying and helping me get an answer to why Damage To Target Out Of Cover and Damage To Armor is often picked, especially when I see other players weapons or loadouts thanks 👍
Someday, I guess I'll start all over again in PS4. Being playing it on PC, with all 4 characters each one with different 4 styles - 1DPS, 1SNIPER, 1SHIELD or 1TECHNICAL or 1HEALER 4x4 builts . . . all very very un- actualized.
is ez to copy builds the hard part is to make them work on your favor each encounter you have with the game that is where experience comes in form of how you think of playing the game and how fast your are to solve the situation
Really good video, i just bought division 2 I played for sometime on ps4 and now I moved to PC... my gear now its like blueish and not green like on ps4, is this a good gear or should I try to the green ones? like ongoing directive? thanks
Hey! That should just be due to a colorblind setting you may have enabled, it changes the green/teal color of Gear Sets to a blue. So it should all be the same!
When I first learned about the Build making feature of the game I was like " Wow, I have a long way to go"😅. It really adds depth to the game and gameplay itself. As a fairly new player, Im used to only go for gears that has the highest armor thinking it's the best you can have, learning about gear sets and bonuses and learning to put them together to create something more, opens up a dam letting in new ideas to progress further. I honestly felt overwhelmed at the start, same thing with the calibration station, I barely touch the thing 🤣. I needed this video, I have been running my DIY makeshift builds without any in depth knowledge of building, I'm just putting brandsets together lol, though it's been great so far. Moving on from World Tier I to II currently I can feel the age of my old build (it's even disrespectful to even call it a build I think) 😂, I guess its time to tinker a little bit better. I am glad the Vets of this game are open to share their own builds, tips and tricks, you'd love to see it in a community! Have a great day! I appreciate the upload! 🍻 PS- I have gotten WONY, any recommendations when's the perfect time to pack up and head on to the DLC, excited of what it has to offer. Thanks!
Welcome to The Division 2! Super glad you've been enjoying, and I'm very happy to hear that this helped you get a better grasp on things. There's definitely still a lot you can learn about it, and that'll come naturally just by playing more and putting more build combinations together. As for WONY, given you're already into the World Tiers, it's best just to finish those off and unlock all of the main missions (World Tier 5 is the final tier and by then you'll unlock Tidal Basin). After that you'll reach the Level 30 endgame, and once there I would jump straight to WONY-- no need to invest time at LvL 30 only to invalidate it once you eventually move onto the Expansion. The only note I'll make is that if you're invested into the story, then narratively you'll want to complete a few offsite missions that unlock post-World Tier 5. Those are: Camp White Oak > Manning Zoo > The Pentagon > Darpa Research Labs > Coney Island Ballpark > Coney Island Amusement Park. Those will tee up WONY, and then you can jump in! Enjoy!
I have been trying to get the emperors guard knee pads I have been doing the countdown and Dark zone for, the past month and half And I still can't get one. Is that the only 2 ways to get That Knee pad
Hey! The Emperor's Guard are what are known as a "DZ Exclusive." There are a few other ways you can get them besides the DZ, but primarily that's going to be your best bet. Countdown will not drop them. Your best chances will be on a day when one of the DZ's had targeted Kneepads or Murakami 👍
"DZ Exclusive" items can only drop from a few sources: Dark Zone enemies, activities, loot crates, rank up caches, and vendors; Conflict caches; legacy caches if they were added during a season; manhunt bosses if they were added during a season; the Countdown vendor if it is a named item; the Clan vendor; and named item caches. Since Emperor's Guard was part of the vanilla loot pool, you can only obtain them from the DZ, Conflict, and Named Item caches. The best way to get them from the DZ is when Murakami is the targeted loot. The best way to get Named Item caches is to spend global event stars on them, which you can do right now while the Reanimated event is active, or to buy Named Item caches from the Countdown vender for 112 Countdown Credits.
I carbon copied one build from a UA-camr. It was definitely mostly effective, not perfect for me tho. Drove me to want to perfect it for myself, and in turn the wheels started turning for my own ideas. 🤷🏻
DZ still a nightmare, I'm 1345, I try and farm DZ, but just got stopped by 4 players, one that killed me was 2643, his mate was 3052, what chance did I have? Never seen other 2 players level, yeah, 4 jumped me. Wonder why new players hate DZ.... *ponder*
"It's not how you stand by your car. It's how you drive your car. You better learn that." -- So many times I get super cringe when I see a new video claiming "best in slot" or "best of..." ... when it claims things with zero real context or conditions applied. If you want confirmation as to why these types of videos aren't the end of the conversation for what to use, just watch the top speed runs for any mission and you'll see a huge variety of builds and approaches, pretty much all of which are far from any "best in slot" or "meta" setup. There are certainly builds that are versatile and balanced enough to make most content achievable, some even pretty easy, but to really push the limits you have to look at each segment of each mission or objective and consider all the factors and what approach will give you the best efficiency. Then take that mindset and multiply by 4 or 8 for group play and raids. So in that regard, in not just standing by and driving the car, but where you plan to drive to it that will make just as big of an impact on its success. A sniper build in Lincoln Memorial will not shine quite like it will at Manning Nat. Zoo; just like an SMG/shotgun build in the Zoo will struggle compared to Federal Emergency Bunker. Which explains why a St. Elmo's - Strikers build is so popular. It's not OP; it's balanced. (St. Elmo's range, accuracy, and damage duration are great, but it's single bullet damage and DPS are far from top ranks). Cheers!
quite frankly this game is a bit more complicated then it needs to be and if you're an extreme casual such as myself that just wants a game to ply on stream beat it and move on to the nxt game and free up some hd space this game is the complete opposite of that... i dn't care about the modding you can do with every GD item you get in the game I just want strong weapons to blow away the ai and that's it... you do get that but you need to be a GD Chemist in the game and i ain't in the mood for that... its great for ppl that want to invest that kind of time and has a short librarian of games they ply but when you trying to just run thru something and move on, this AIN'T it....
Just get Stryker and Fox's and you have all the pieces you need to make every build any streamer has ever made. There's really not a creative bone in the community anymore. Oh yeah...don't forget the Tazerface rifle
the dev's changed gear 1.0 to gear 2.0 and players still need an explanation make builds yikes 🤦 what a way to ruin the fun with gear 2.0 being so bland
yikes imagine a young husband and 2times father who works 10+ hours shift just wanting to enjoy a pve game and have a great build not reading and learning effects for 2+ hours to unserstand every effect and how they work together
This game is so stupid now. Shock, shock, shock, and more shock. Why nerf Nsync shield? Why nerf ANYTHING if you're going to introduce crap like this into the game? You may as well buff EVERYTHING because 95% of pvp players run St. Elmo and or Shocker Punch. It's dumb as F!

As someone who used to play a TON a while back, coming back to this and realizing that I understood everything you were saying at one point without having a degree in advanced mathematics is incredible to me 😂😂
😂
This is the video I've been waiting for 💯
🔥🔥 Hope you liked it!
Thank you for all your work, brother.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video RG. 👍 I remember running around with some patchwork crap way back.
Def could have used this back in the day.
Haha, well hopefully I can spare someone from that fate nowadays!
Great video 👌🏻
Thank you!!
This was super helpful. Thank you.
👊 Happy to hear it!
Hope it helps! The more you mess around and experiment with this stuff, the more natural it'll feel 👍
@@RogueGold Well i just got done with tidal basin and that opened my workbench to 500 stuff so thats a plus lol, lots to ty for replying! 👊😎
Very good video! Im a new player and enjoying the experience with help from your videos o7
So happy to hear that 🙌 hope you continue enjoying!
Most of the fun in games like this is min-maxxing every detail yourself. I find myself swapping gear around and optimizing after almost every event
This is useful new players and veterans trying new stuff stick with same build
Glad you think so! 👊
Thanks for the info on builds very helpful 👍👍✌️🤔
You're very welcome!
Another gold video
Good job bro ;)
😄 Appreciate it!
i love the game, but sadly i didnt play much in last weeks, at least we got not long time ago some news about upcoming seasons right? That's good
i will finally try game today again, hopefully it has better performance than they screw up month ago with patch too. Before that i could easily launch and play game for 3 hours and had fun.
Soon i will finally buy Ryzen 7 5800x3d CPU after years having not best PC for games because for some reason i didnt do it month ago.
Big love for you channel and constant videos
Enjoy the new specs! Thanks very much for the kind words 👊
Very informative, thank you!
🙏
Wish skill builds had more weapon options, practically stuck to my capacitor religiously since i got it.
Not that I can complain at 107k damage
The Capacitor is definitely hard to beat 😄 could always try the Test Subject!
@@RogueGold true, I play with a friend that does an all red core build.
Tempts me sometimes, but a strong drone appeals to my laziness when there's that one last enemy to chase down lol.
Great guide though
All red regen true patriot 😮 plus pesti. I understand the argument for synergy but sometimes the off the wall builds slap
Being playing it on PC, with all 4 characters each one with different 4 styles - 1DPS, 1SNIPER, 1SHIELD or 1TECHNICAL or 1HEALER
4x4 builts . . . all very very un- actualized.
is ez to copy builds the hard part is to make them work on your favor each encounter you have with the game that is where experience comes in form of how you think of playing the game and how fast your are to solve the situation
Great video.
Thank you! 🙏
So it should all be the same!
right on you are awesome, now all pieces are green lol thanks a lot @@RogueGold
Thank you👍
Thanks for watching!
@RogueGold what’s the single strap chest cosmetic on your character??? Also how do I get that?
It's the Gamology skin, you can find it in the Apparel Store 👍
@@RogueGold thank you! I appreciate ya!
PS- I have gotten WONY, any recommendations when's the perfect time to pack up and head on to the DLC, excited of what it has to offer.
Enjoy!
Dude, I was literally just talking about this.
@RogueGold ok thank you
@TamerSpoon3 thanks for the help
HEY, I don't have a clue what to do when it comes tobuilds, could use some help if you are interested in building up a rookie
Once you dive in how the gear works, it's literally a universe of posibilities.
My 3 most powerful builds are totally made of my own, not YT videos.
How did you get memento drop with striker
Both Memento and Striker are in the general loot pool 👍 Countdown is your best option
I carbon copied one build from a UA-camr. It was definitely mostly effective, not perfect for me tho. Drove me to want to perfect it for myself, and in turn the wheels started turning for my own ideas.
🤷🏻
That's the best way to do it, IMO! Good stuff 🙌
What Build Are You Using In The Video?
Here's the breakdown! 👉 ua-cam.com/video/3lH-hL4hTxQ/v-deo.htmlsi=LN2sHC6_Y-luAgSj
*ponder*
Thanks again for your generosity, truly appreciated 🙏
I need more armor please help me i have guns that shred enemies but i go down fast
I recommend these content pieces for farming if you need more stuff! 👉 ua-cam.com/video/WE6tDtGN-TI/v-deo.htmlsi=q8z_6Ifwnp5p9RQe
@@RogueGold thanks
Cheers!
If I wanna do a raid by myself can I do that ?
No, Raid mechanics require a team
@@RogueGold mhmm thanks for letting me know
@@RogueGold but can u tell me the hype bout the raid do u get cool items and gear ?
@Grandtemplar305 Yes, the two Raids have exclusive Exotic weapons that are quite strong
@@RogueGold okay ima have to find me a squad soon to try and get those exotic raids
My true patriot build is gonna be 👌because of this vid
Yay!! Happy to hear it 🙏
quite frankly this game is a bit more complicated then it needs to be and if you're an extreme casual such as myself that just wants a game to ply on stream beat it and move on to the nxt game and free up some hd space this game is the complete opposite of that... i dn't care about the modding you can do with every GD item you get in the game I just want strong weapons to blow away the ai and that's it... you do get that but you need to be a GD Chemist in the game and i ain't in the mood for that... its great for ppl that want to invest that kind of time and has a short librarian of games they ply but when you trying to just run thru something and move on, this AIN'T it....
frist love the videos
Thank you very much! 🙏
Just get Stryker and Fox's and you have all the pieces you need to make every build any streamer has ever made. There's really not a creative bone in the community anymore. Oh yeah...don't forget the Tazerface rifle
Really confusing
bro speaking fast af like people know what he talking about 😂
the dev's changed gear 1.0 to gear 2.0 and players still need an explanation make builds yikes 🤦 what a way to ruin the fun with gear 2.0 being so bland
yikes imagine a young husband and 2times father who works 10+ hours shift just wanting to enjoy a pve game and have a great build not reading and learning effects for 2+ hours to unserstand every effect and how they work together
@@o.s.95 "enjoy" pve eeewwww
Sorry, way too much information. This is not helpful for someone needing a clear and simple intro to gear and building.
What's this hole video to tell me to go watch other videos...👎
