Rosie, out of the plethora of videos I have watched on so many different forms of art, I find the art that you make the most fun and enjoyable to see. I am astounded at how well you integrate pictures into each other and make things work. Sometimes, at the beginning of your video I think, "oh man, how will she pull this off?'" then at the end I am so impressed with what you have done. Thank you for sharing your process and thinking while you are making your art. It helps me to have something to think about too. Before this becomes a book, I will end with this. Keep it up and have fun with your art. You rock!
Oh wow thank you for all the kind words!! I surprise myself sometimes with the combinations I'm able to pull off. I'm glad you're enjoying watching my process :)
Seriously, I don’t think you have made a collage that I haven’t been impressed by. I just love the way you talk through your process which in turn allows me to see it too, and to watch how it works when you bring it all together. You are very skilled at doing this. It is good also to see what doesn’t work as well as what does. Thank you for sharing your talent with us it is a pleasure to watch.
Hi Rosie--I appreciate how you used color and object repetition to make all the disparate pieces "hang together!" The repeated use of the turquoise blue in the "eyes", bird, and water, and the repetition of the rainbow hues in the bird, hot air balloons, and the literal rainbow coming from the dolls eyes! Plus all the eyes! Principles of good design!
I love the chaos of this collage, its so fun and whatever you do you always pull it off! 😁😁🌼 I often use what is known as the 'top down' glue method you tack the pieces together where they touch then turn it over and completely cover the back and glue it down in one go... Speeds things up and you don't lose where they are on your page. It takes a bit of getting used to but it usually works out well, then you can always go back and glue any bits and pieces that are still not stuck! 😊😊 I hope that's helpful 💖
It is quite busy, but you never get bored looking at it. Always something different to see. If it makes you happy and makes you smile that's what counts. I'm sure we'll keep watching you have fun and we'll gather ideas.
YEAH!! You go girl! I have been rooting for this day and I knew you could do it. However it comes out. Working large and starting with no clear idea is the way I have been working and I love it. Not for the faint, working large can lead to so many possibilities that you don't have on a smaller format. Now get out that 18" x 24"!
Loved it! I was a bit dubious in the beginning because of the quantity of images you pulled out, but you masterfully arranged them to make a super-cool collage. Thank you!
I feel like this is one of my favs this is more my collage style. I feel like I can say a lot with the chaos too. It just feels more like my reality then simplicity a lot of the time. But omg I totally feel what I said about the more minimalist approach to your art and how more open the message can be. I think both Sykes have meeting points of depth. I love your art bro
Rosie, thank you for continuing to experiment and challenge yourself. I’m halfway through the video and it may be one of my favorite vids. The most important aspect to me about collage (and art in general) is the process and willingness to try something different. One of the things I struggle most with is acceptance from others when it comes to sharing my art (on IG, nextdoor, in general) but at the end of the day as long as I love it that’s what matters. Peace and happy collaging. ✌️
Ok finished the vid. Badass. I think most people like simplicity but not me. It’s complicated and like you said, so much to take in and look at. Art like this takes a lot of time and patience. It rarely gets the recognition it merits. Bravo 👏 Now can you make a video about how much gluing sucks! Or the best techniques on how to glue? I use UHU, sometimes yes paste, sometimes modge podge, sometimes nuvo craft glue. Thinking of trying matte medium sometime. Anyway, really interested in gluing TECHNIQUES if you have any insight. Thanks!
Totally agree that as long as you're having fun and loving your art, that's all that matters! I HATE glueing! My least favorite part of the process haha
Wow, this was so fun to watch! It is very colorful and you just made the images work. The city buildings are a great background. Though a bit different, your style and imagination shine through.👏🏻🌈🏙
great job completely jumping out of your comfort zone!! it turned out awesome, i hope you do more detailed ones like this. i work in a large sketchbook so a lot of times i have to bring in several similar images like you did with the cities. it's fun!! tyfs 💜
I really like it. It reminds me of when I use to collage over chipboard boxes with magazine pages to completely cover it. I did it for decoration more of less. I considered it to be an expression of art as well. I enjoyed t the process very much. I love working with architecture and home decor items mostly. Thank you for sharing your process. It was definitely worth watching. Have a great day.
I like your surreal style collages better- tho I still like this one- I like how real you sometimes make those surreal collages look. You amaze me. I like it that you’re trying new things too!
I thought perhaps the would fail at first but then I thought if anyone could pull it off, you could. I was surprised by how much I liked it at the end. !!
Wow!I really like how you made it all so cohesive ,even though they are all totally different 😍👏🏻every awesome. I def need to give this a shot. For some reason I've hit a creative block lately but looking at this video I've been inspired, thank you.❤️
I think it's so fun and fantastic! I'd love to do something in this style but I feel like I have a hard time finding a starting point. I also struggle with gluing things down into the right places without destroying everything! I could use any tips on how to do this without making a complete disaster! I especially appreciated that you showed yourself playing and having fun with the arrangements. I often overthink things and I'm very new to collages so it reminds me to have more fun with it. I too have an issue with people thinking my pieces are too simple. lol
I think that this turned out fabulous! it was very courageous of you to face the challenge of a larger format AND working intuitively. Maybe you should work this same challenge more often. But don't ever question your "style"--anything you create will be "your style", but pushing your limits is a great way to explore. You are so inspirational!
I LOVE this piece, Rosie! I am drawn to “busy and strange” pieces and this one certainly checks those boxes. Amazing colors, background scenes and images from across the spectrum leave this piece open to interpretation. I’m sure one hundred different individuals will interpret it in one hundred different ways and find many things to love about it. I adore it and am so glad you chose to share the process. You are amazing! I do have once question though, where’s Waldo?? 😂😂
Thanks for such an inspirational video, Rosie. I usually stick to 8 x 10 or 9 x 11, but I went to DeSerres on the weekend and saw some MASSIVE canvases. Your video may be the push I need to try a larger piece. We get pretty weird with small sizes, so sky's the limit on a bigger canvas! I love how yours turned out. So much more Rosie to admire :)
I enjoyed that! Thank you. I have been a collage artist for several years. I usually paint over faces and add weird elements. And mine are usually quite large. I liked this a great deal because there was so much going on. I liked the elements of the desk on the fish, the enormous eyes and the doll & hands reaching to shelve the green beans. The backgrounds you chose made a wonderful backdrop to everything. Very fun! Thank you for sharing! Bless
You know I love me some rosey. I think it is fantastic. Sort of like where is Waldo. I love the way you transitioned from back ground to back ground. I think it fun
I really like it! It’s a great idea to use those images that are just stored away and keeps you looking around for strange and interesting combinations.
Hi Rosie - I am new to your channel and love this first video that I watched! I've always been trying to figure out how to assemble the wacky collage which is way different than what I've been doing. My collages have to make sense to me. I'd like to see more of these wacky collages for sure.
Another great piece Rosie. I do love that you went bigger and added more elements. It turned out fantastic but you have to do what feels good for you. Love, love, love this one!!
Hi Rosie, I am always looking forward to your videos. I truly love your normal style. Not so much the busy one. There is too much going on for my taste. But I recoqnize your humor.
Hi Rosie, I just finished binge watching and enjoying all of your videos last week. Your channel was recommended by Jeanne Baney on her UA-cam channel. She is a great lady and her videos are lots of fun. Your collages are great and I love to see what you come up with each time. The intricate cutting you do is amazing and how you fit pieces together is really fun to watch. I really love the collage you did today, a lot going on but so interesting to look at. I like the cumulative effect of all those cities. And the cans of beans looked like another set of row houses, so that tied in. I would have liked to see how the face would have turned out too.
I loved watching you put this one together, I love the finished result and would enjoy seeing more. However, your normal style with fewer images are my favorites. They are so cleverly assembled and unique. I look forward to Thursdays. 😎🏳️🌈

I don’t like that style as much, but it came out good, just to busy for me. But, you are always fun to watch so do what you want, I’ll watch them all.Love ya see ya next week😃❤️👍
This is so fun. Your video encourages us to step out of our comfort zone. I'm currently working on using tissue, music and ledger paper. I really really like using up what we have rather than saving everything and becoming hoarders. Yeah I need to downsize. I'm also working on collaging on a canvas. I recently picked up 4 new Nat Geo books that have great backgrounds. I got them for about $4 each on ebay. Too many books 📚 lol
My first two collages were painting mistakes I turned into collages on huge canvases. My advice is use canvas paper, not a canvas that’s been stapled or whatever onto a wooden frame. Much easier to work with a flat surface than a surface that dips as you press down.

I used Scotch Adhesive Transfer Tape 924. Its super helpful to get things down quickly. If you use very small pieces you can carefully pull the papers apart and rub off the small amount of tape and it balls up so you can remove it. If you are careful it shouldn't leave any marks!
This collage would be a great jigsaw puzzle. I am, however, a card-carrying member of Jigsaws Anonymous since the time I stayed up for 24 hours straight doing jigsaws. Sigh. The struggle is real.
I make this style all the time...at the end I'm usually shocked that there is a message in it; I'm not a true abstractionist. Hello Rosie. This collage is very busy but this is the reason I like it. There is so much to see. Plenty of stories in the same collage and I think it all blend well together. I love it, rosie. Loved your process as usual. So many pieces that you played with. I would have been lost. Good job
I definitely prefer your usual style of collaging more, but this was neat
