Years ago I made a shower out of an old hul-a-hoop. I hung a shower curtain on it and suspended it from a tree limb. I used an inner tube for a water container. It warmed up fast in the sun. The biggest problem I had was it getting to hot. I would just fill it partially and then add cold water after it heated until I got the temperature right. Love your videos. Hi Brooke. I just finished watching all your videos this morning and am so happy to see another video just now. You truly inspire me. I'm so sorry about your brother. Just know you're in my thoughts and prayers.
I absolutely love how *stoked* you get over the simple things in life! Yeah, you know, like an outhouse and the proper build & use thereof! I grew up with outhouses at summer camps *(one was a three holer) and what you said rang so true! My only additions would be: (1) build in two framed & multi-layered screened air flow spaces - one about a foot above the bottom of the door & one up near the top of the back wall and (2) keep a pail of ashes in there and add a scoop after each dump. Once we did that to ours, it was more comfortable for those longer visits in the heat of summer and the odor was reduced even more. Some of the units never had to be relocated because breakdown occurred better & quicker.
Lots of love ❤️ to you!!! I want you to know how inspiring you are!!! I lost a sister to drugs as well, but I do know she is in a better place...we took down our old pool and made a fire pit to sit around and make family time!!!

Lived in the UP 1975-1979 at KISawyer AFB. The UP is my favorite place! It’s my happy place. I have video on my phone of the waves coming in. Avon skin so soft is what we used for mosquitoes. They weren’t that bad though back then. It also rarely got above 80F in the summer. Maybe because we were so close to Lake Superior. We lived on fish. Trout and salmon. Thanks for bringing me back up there with you. I live in Texas right now so I need the break!
Camping tip for washing up in a lake: bring along a bar of Ivory bath soap. it floats so you won't lose it. Not as popular these days so many people don't know this.
Camped on Lake George in NY for about 1971 thru 1998. Never in that time would we put soap in the lake. Totally against the regulations. We bought sun showers at A sports store. We could 2 of us take a hot shower and rinse with a5 gal shower. I have Two of them in my emergency kit for use in hurricanes. While we were camping on LG. A local town shut down their water treatment plant for modifications. They tested the Lake water for bacteria and purity and fed the Bolton Landing NY town needs without treatment. The Lake water was purer than the water from the water treatment plant. Everyone obeyed the “nothing disposed into the Lake”. Regulations. Still clean today. JoeB
@@josephburkhalter5105 I agree if it was a water supply lake or a campground. That little bit of soap would have about zero effect on water quality in most lakes. Certainly not much more harm than washing up without soap or swimming and much less than the effect of wildlife. Water quality was my profession for many years. I don't advocate ignoring posted regulations.
I hadn't watched all of your previous video and hadn't seen the ending. Very sorry to hear about your brother. I lost my brother almost 2 years ago and just recently found out my other brother needs a double bypass heart surgery. Life is precious. Just wanted to say hi and you both have a majororly in oar uk fan! Keep up the fabulous work, have lots of fun doing it & stay safe in these uncertain times. Jane & puppa Charlie 🐾🐾.
Did you know their honking is to encourage one another as they fly?!!! Cool wind chimes! Way to go girl!! You are so blessed to have a place like that to be. I do envy you except for the mosquitos!!! Wise tips for the out house, thanks.

So sorry for your loss, so glad you have the comfort of the Lord. Always enjoy your videos. Outhouse on our farm blew over this spring, we don’t live there but it did come in handy. May try your plans, like the clear roof! Be blessed, your property is beautiful but the bugs are awful! Can’t wait for the rest of the build.
I went to a memorial lately and the elders who performed the ceremony encouraged us to know the deceased did not want us to grieve for long, but to move on. 💜
Great to see you and your husband working on your place in the U. P., My grand uncle lived on Lake Superior and was a professional fisherman (he originally lived in Traverse City and fished on Lake Michigan. What I never liked about Michigan as a young boy and visiting my aunts, uncles, and cousins in Michigan was the mosquitos, but of course we had lots of mosquitos in Florida too. What I like about Montana is I have never had a mosquito problem. When I was racing sled dogs I raced in Ely, Minnesota and thought I would like to live there, but found out it is totally infested with mosquitos in the summer. No, give me Montana as it truly is "The Last Best Place."
I was so sorry I couldn’t express my condolences to you at the end of your last video. I know the pain you feel and am so glad you got to express your love for your brother to him. God bless you !
Sorry for your loss, I’ve lost two of my brothers with in an hour of each other with in 50 meters of each other. I know your pain. I didn’t get to say good bye.
My family used to buy the pix coils when we went to the drive in movies when I was a kid. They did not work that well and we still got a lot of insect bites. If you don't perspire heavily like I do then you can try Avon Skin So Soft. You can use it in diluted form on the dog too. Mix 50-50 with water. Another method is Walmart sells oil lanterns in the camping department and citronella oil in the garden department. It helps light up the outside areas and the citronella works against mosquitoes. As for Deer Fly they come in and attack in squadron strength. You could try a mist device to try and control them. If you can find citronella plants in your region you can container grow them. Up north they would die from the cold winters unless you have a greenhouse to keep them warm during winter. Stay healthy and stay safe and keep living your dreams.
Cool battery pack. Plan your solar panel location to get the most out of it. Even a little shading can greatly affect your output. On the outhouse if you put a solid lid on the hole to block the fumes and also install a vent pipe painted black on the sunny side up above the roof a couple of feet, the heat of the pipe will draw the smell up and out. Look at a plastic commercial Port A Potty. It works. Ashes work also.
Gotta say, you two are fun to watch and you share some great tips about the priorities, challenges, and work investment involved in creating a liveable and even comfortable place in the wilderness. My wife and I enjoy the videos so please keep them coming! God bless!

@@dananelson1743 any dollar store has it.
Sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you and your family 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wondered when y’all would get into solar generators. I use a Jackery 500 in the truck. Nice to have silent power
I hadn't watched all of your previous video and hadn't seen the ending. Very sorry to hear about your brother. I lost my brother almost 2 years ago and just recently found out my other brother needs a double bypass heart surgery. Life is precious. I enjoy yours and Daves channel and use a lot of my favorite off grid channels on here to escape from lifes hardships. I recently bought acteage in Northern Wisconsin and in the middle of building my first little off grid cabin. Thanks for the videos!
Lovely to see you back after such a heartbreak situation. I didn't leave a message before because i didn't know what else to say after every bodies comments. Stay cool.
Phil Gyles For sure, makes so many of us happy to see your smiles.

Your friend Neil who has the house boat.. absolutely fabulous! I used to love fishing as a child, you both work so incredibly hard and I'm so envious I really am, if happily live in your first cabin build 😊..

Congratulations on the 100,000+ subs !
Did you know their honking is to encourage one another as they fly?!!! Cool wind chimes! Way to go girl!! You are so blessed to have a place like that to be. I do envy you except for the mosquitos!!! Wise tips for the out house, thanks.
Hello red, Im so sorry about your brother I pray for Gods comfort on you.
Soo nice to watch a Lady enjoying living and working in the woods.
YOU BOTH ARE AWESOME...BRAD AND I LOVE WATCHING YOU TWO INTERACT AND IT IS ALWAYS REFRESHING TO SEE HOW WELL YOU WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN...HAHAHAHAHHA BEING IN YOUR UNDERWARE IS MORE THAN WHAT BRAD WOULD HAVE BEEN IN...
marian frances a very important thing to remember they are happy an want our growth an happiness too.
I would like to know how large of acreage you bought and how much lake access you have ?
Thanks for the video! It’s always a pleasure! Be blessed!
3 things u can use to cut down on the smell in an outhouse. Camp fire ash, sawdust and lime
4 things. the 3 you mentioned and a vent out the top
Its hard
Still thinking about you with passing of your brother . Been there with older brother and younger sister. Talk to him and know he hears you.
Hi Both of you, Great job with the outhouse. You look well established. What a relaxing place.
God bless you both.
Buzzzzz buzzzz buzzzzz....... 😫
Styrofoam outhouse seat means a warm seat in winter time. 😊
Where has our girl Maisie Daisie been lately? I've missed her in the last couple of videos. Please bring her with you next time..
Gotta say, you two are fun to watch and you share some great tips about the priorities, challenges, and work investment involved in creating a liveable and even comfortable place in the wilderness. My wife and I enjoy the videos so please keep them coming! God bless!
Girl in the wood “stump b gone llc.
The transparent corrugated plastic roof will be nice!!!! But the plastic mounted inside the hole... that’s sounds very smart!
I love y'all more than fresh honey!!! 😊💕
