Having both the Pico and ATS scopes, which one is your first grab? I’m close to getting the funds together for a 4 channel and can only do one. Everyone I’ve talked to with an ATS loves it but there’s so many die hard Pico guys. Nobody in my shop has a scope or even cars to learn their use. I have a 2 channel on my Scan tool but really want a 4 or maybe 8

So to answer your question my first grab is the ATS it didn’t used to be but it is now as far as speed to set up an Ease of use It’s definitely better than pico. Pico is definitely awesome as well but it’s not on one like a scan tool so you have these pieces that you have to put together. Pico definitely has better resolution at the end of the day but it’s not necessarily needed for automotive. The Ats has the E misfire program and deep record as well as dual time base I like all those features. Pico you can set up custom probes for add-ons but I’m not necessarily needed. Ats has a better connect detect that shows when the scope is connected. All in all I like having both want to be honest with you I have not grab my pico in a while I only have it for my NVH. Pico has also recently increase prices and now is more expensive than a ATS. Ats people think it’s more expensive because of the tablet but if you take the tablet out which is awesome by the way that kit is 2400 with amp clamps etc. pretty much the same set up as pico. Also you can start using any car what I did when I first got my scopes I started doing relative compression test on every car just to get used to the wave forms you can connect it with the current cramp or just positive or negative on the battery and AC Couple. There are many tests that you can use on cars that come in every day to build your known-good library. My vote is for Ats

@@weldingjunkie Thanks for the information. That’s exactly the sort of stuff I was looking for. Having never used either one, Just from what I’ve watched and read the ATS seems to be packed with features I would like, like the dual time base. I forgot to mention we have an OEM scope that’s nice but like the pico, is kept in a box and has to be brought out and set up my snap on 2 channel is so quick to have up and running that I never use the oem. I appreciate you taking the time to answer questions on all these platforms. I’m in several facebook groups with you as well.. It’s a great service to the tech community.

How much was that in total if you don’t mind? Definitely agreed with more versatility setup than the ats setup!

I get the tablets for about $1200 it’s def a better tablet for everyday work with it and with the rugged keyboard it sits anywhere vs the legs on the tablet plus I can take scope off
