Respectfully while she hates cellphones for good reason I am forever grateful for people who managed to catch these moments on film. I would NEVER have the opportunity to experience how such a legend can demonstrate different ways of singing the same song or the shee delight of being able to see her perform. Sorry Patti it wasn't live as I and you would have preferred but BRAVA!
A reason why I hate those who shame bootleg.. most of us can't afford to see these shows LIVE, travel or otherwise, so it's really not harming the performance
@josephcook6442 what harms the performance and why she's been known to go off on people is less about being recorded (though that annoys her) it's more about the safety for the performers. There's been cases where ppl will wip out phones with FLASH on to record or take pictures and that's dangerous for the individuals on stage along with causing them to break character theres been times folks have broken bones due to temporarily being blinded by a flash gone off at the wrong moment and they miss a step or drop a partner or something.
One of, if not the, best musical numbers ever written. Performed here by two of the best Sondheim interpreters. Patti’s Lovett was hilarious and Michael’s Sweeney was brooding and dark. Love them together.
This was such a fantastic production!! The staging was so cool and different! I loved the shelves of items behind them that in certain scenes would have a spotlight softly highlight a trinket that corespondents with the scene that is playing out. Such as the little stuffed bird in a bird cage when Johanna is singing Green Finch and Linnet Bird.
This is by far not the best performance PLP has given of Mrs Lovett. The concert version at the Kennedy Centre (also in full on here) is WAY better. She’s exquisite in it. It’s actually the performance that made me stop disliking her as a performer. This doesn’t do her justice.

I saw this production back, way back when. At the time I had no idea who Patti Lupone or Michael Cerveris were. Best impulse ticket purchase ever.
Uhg!! I love that outfit, get it Patti!
In her book, She called it "goth cupcake" 🧁

I love patti, and Michael together in this number.
Most respectful arse grab ever. ❤
Enjoyed this revival much more than the current bway revival, although I thought Sutton was so fun as Lovett.

I hate that Sweeney Todd looks like uncle fester lol
Considering the original description, he has a unruly head of hair that he keeps his combs and scissors in
His voice doesn't "live" down in that range. At all. Everybody in this production besides Patti was playing like they're about to fall asleep.
