Good video!! I just ordered some of the American tackle split carbon grips along with nfc soft touch carbon grips. I want to see which I like better. They'll be going on a NFC x-ray c602 blank. It's a first build for me. The first thing I thought when I saw how they do the lock nut is to drill the aluminium sleeve. Creating pillars for the glue inside, binding the two pieces. I'm trying to make this build as light as possible. Since I'm a machinist my mind instantly said hmm... mill this and drill this.

I saw some angst in your body language when you said it is for a dropshot rod. Lol, knowing that you don't care to dropshot much. Have you discovered a secret dropshot technique on the Chain that you haven't shared yet?
I've been fishing the Winter Haven chain the last few trips and have been learning to drop shot. 1 good day, 2 others not so much.
Is there an eva split grip set you would recommend for the G2 apex seat?
I like the Winn sets. But that is a personal preference. Any EVA spinning rear grip is going to mate up to the reel seat the same.
Hello sir, I have a question I ordered the starting kit from mudhole that comes with the 2 part epoxy, and also the epoxy for the guides. I have a adjustable G2 handle. My question is what epoxy should I use to install the trim rigs for the G2 handle?
Use the two part epoxy paste that you will use on the grips and reel seat. I use the two part liquid only because it's easier on cleanup.

Do you have the item number for the carbon grip kit ? Thank You Sir
The base adjustable kit is G2HADJC, then you have to add the numbers for the finish and trim
The one I did, in matte 3K and silver trim is SKU: G2HADJC-M3K-S.
That will only get you to the trim ring at the rear of the reel seat.
I then used a size 16 G2 blade reel seat SKU: BLADE-CCT-16-ULH
and a 3K reel seat insert SKU: RSI-4-3K
with a 3K foregrip sleeve and silver trim SKU: CFGM3K-S
