Not all curling wands give long lasting curls but the wand does for sure, and when they fall they go to pretty waves for me at least! I got mine in a kit so I am probably no help! My brushes are really cheap, I get them at Costco around Christmas every year. I'll use Quo and EcoTools brushes from the drugstore as well. I have never used high end brushes and my makeup turns out fine!!!
