Here's the reason as to why these are so much quieter. You can see on the tips of the new ones there are things called winglets. The winglets reduce drag, which makes the motors work more efficiently and therefor more quietly. The winglets help increase the lift generated by each prop, which reduces wingtip verticies, or high pressure areas around the tip of a prop. You can see the same design on giant passager aircraft, they also have a flared tip on the end of a wing to increase fuel efficiency.
Tangsang Limbu Money Money Money they wanna milk this cow named P4 until people dont like the milk and if that means buying new props for $40 they'll do it
" The winglets reduce drag, which makes the motors work more efficiently and therefor more quietly.". That means less drain on the batteries thus longen flights to, doesn't it?
I noticed when I tried the low noise propellers on my P4P Obsidian they are not that much quieter but they are a much less of an annoying pitch. Overall I hear it less at the same altitudes and the new props are way less noisy while descending to land. I just wish DJI released a black set for the obsidian Phantom instead of my inverted Oreo cookie drone I'm currently rocking.
Billy Kyle thanks a lot for posting this I was really curious about that. They definitely seem quieter I ordered mine a couple of days ago for my p4pro.. I was also wondering about the speed and functionality of the Drone and you also answered that too I can't wait to get these things in thanks again Billy!
Yes they do. On my Phantom 4 Standard I removed the tab locking mechanism and installed the spring system that the Pro has. Even with the old tab locking system they will work.
Actually the P4P V2.0 is even quieter than the older P4P generation with the low noise propellers (9455S) thanks to his new and improved FOC ESC drivers. Greetings
I am using the low noise props from Master Airscrew on my Phantom 4 standard with much success . They are quieter than the "old " dji props but are retrograde as they are screw on props. Be nice if someone would do a comparison video using the "new" low noise dji props against the best of the off brand low noise props. Thanks as always for keeping us informed and educated.
Thanks for posting this up Billy. Could definitely hear a difference in all scenarios, even through my phone speakers. Going to try to get some of these eagle beak looking props once I get my p4p repaired.
Great comparison review Billy! I rally like the DB reading that you so in the video, that shows a real comparison between the props for me. Coming from a fire alarm system background, we are totally dependent on proper DB sound levels; the new low noise would differently help in high populated or neighborhood areas, less cranky people coming up complaining! LOL Thanks Again!
Dji sells them as a set of two props because most of the time we don't break more than one or maybe just two at a time . So if you had multiple crashes , you would be accumulating excess props of one hand or the other over time if you had to buy a set of four. By buying just one of each hand at once , you are less likely to get a collection of excess props IMO.
Good video Billy , I have an original Phantom 4 so unfortunately not for me as I have read the connection is slightly different on the lock mechanism. Worth while for the advanced and pro owners👍
Thanks for adding the price and mentioning buying 2 sets, the selling practice of adding price by overcharging the shipping kind of surprised me being that the price of these blades are more than they need to be. It is not like they paid engineers to design these blades. They are copies of military helicopters. That all said, I still have 1 set (4 blades) of blades still new to go through so it will be awhile and I will buy them off the shelf with no shipping.
BILLY! Thanks for another good vid. I too have trouble with the gimbal doing what yours just did, only even more extreme. Please follow up when you figure out what is going on because I haven't found a lot of info on the "twitching" gimbal, and it has ruined A LOT of shots for me. Especially in high winds where the tilt angle is greater. Sent it in and received a refurbished unit--and it is doing it too! (not as bad as before, but I fear it will get that bad over time like the first one did!)
Propellers are amazing spread the word I’ve had a high and shop in Dallas Texas where I had my drone work done with the DGI certified tax tell me that there’s no difference there’s a huge difference it’s quieter it flies better in the motor stay cooler here in Texas it’s very hot
I dont own a Phantom, but i do own a Mavic Pro, i need to test myself, the difference in wind, maybe its just my mind playing tricks on me, but i feel, in a still position, with the low noise in wind, i get a bit more drift. Not a take me away drift, but more movement. Have you experienced that??
One more thing you drone flyers it is a little bit slower than the speed but we did not get this drone for acrobatic all speeds are fly every day but it’s much much better and you will notice your motors day a little cooler and not that annoying hi buzzing sound well worth the purchase
Can you test lifting ability of Mavic vs Phantom etc? Use a fishing type weight scale hooked to the ground and drone. See how many pounds on fish scale as drone pulls up. I have seen no one do such a measurement. Also, a Hover test would be interesting. With and without the downward looking IR and UltraSound sensors on the Mavic, at 5 ft, 20ft, 100ft to see variation in Altitudes for a hover.
My gimble did that same thing about 16 months ago. And I was flying over a lake, which made me very nervous. I landed it , made an inspection and found nothing out of the ordinary. It has not done it since. Weird.
I would really like an official answer on compatibility with the original 2016 Phantom 4. DJI omits that model from the compatibility list for some reason...
If you buy the spring locking mechanism from DJI and install it they will work. That's what I did with my original P4. I got rid of that stupid tab locking and got the spring locking that the Pro has.
Thats not a gimbal trouble its just you are not braking correctly, if you are reaching for top speeds certain braking time is mandatory for smooth gimble movement. Don’t send your drone back, its good.
Got mine yesterday and did find they are quieter and also found that I manage to get 10kmh faster speed in P Mode with a 5kmh tail wind. Old blades got max speed of 74.9 kmh new blades 84.9 kmh
Indigo Ryno I guess Billy doesn't like me. He never replys to my comments anymore. Probably because we talked hockey when he's a flyers fan and I'm a penguins. Lol
Looking at the decibels reading. Hardly any difference lol sigh. Between 1-5% reduction. Not worth the trouble. Why would anyone feel bad about the noise. I personally love the noise. It's like owning a Harley Davidson & wanting to reduce the noise because it annoys people. Fuck the people lol If u enjoy something. Never feel bad about it.
Billy you need to try to find a certified DJ tech in your area as I did in Dallas Texas got my drone back within 24 hours had a fractured sensor and you do not get a refurbished drone you get your drone back do not trust DJI on customer service and I’ve even got the care fresh plan you should know this by now there’s a lot of good certified tax around now better as skilled
Eugene dela Pena If you buy the spring locking mechanism from DJI and install it they will work. That's what I did with my original P4. I got rid of that stupid tab locking and got the spring locking that the Pro has.
2:03... Really Billy ??? Since you are using a DB meter I thought that you knew that the distance from the meter will have a drastic effect on the readings. The regular props were measure much closer than the Low-Noise props....:/
dB readings were taken separately from the same distance off camera. These shots were just examples to provide an audio and video piece to look at while being able to also read the dB information provided.
Thanks Billy...mine will be in tomorrow, looking forward to testing and comparing also. If you get a chance, take a look at our first vlog. Would love some feedback ua-cam.com/video/7bvPFAsqzYg/v-deo.html ✌
Sometimes I use the noise to locate it when I loose it in the sky.

noRebrand also notice how much wider the low noise props are
If the props with winglets are better why didn’t dji make it as a stock option...

Dolf Zeevogel It may, but someone has got to test that theory! If it was so much quieter then it should be more efficient.

On the latest P4P V2.0 the results are more obvious thanks to the new FOC ESC drivers.
Sean C. Just use spraypaint😂
It's pretty tough to hear the difference through the mic. Just take my word, these are definitely quieter. Hope you enjoyed!

Billy Kyle Your Welcome. Sorry if I sounded mean in my comment. I love your videos. You deserve more subs for what you do.
Definitely more quiet.

Excellent video Billy. Thanks for posting and for taking the time to do the test. Great work.
Great Video, thanks for the comparison! I'm ordering some for my phantom 4 pro.

Thanks!
Thanks Billy! Look forward to mine arriving next week. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Thanks for the review bruh, im gonna get a set of low noise. Def significant
Billy, have you heard whether or not low noise props will be available for the P4P Obsidian? Great job as always!
Thanks!!!
Niagra2011 I think the props are the same and should work on the P4 Obsidian.
Ready Set Drone I think they will fit the Obsidian, I just didn’t want white low noise props on a black P 4P Obsidian. Thanks!
Gotcha. Not sure if they will do the black props or not.

I am also experiencing the same issue you both are describing.
Seth Brooks do a gimbal and Imu calibration, if not, something is internally broken, or maybe even software issues.
Check your gimbal mode, It might possibly be on fpv, not follow
I can really hear the difference at 100 feet. Good comparison test video.
Thanks Ron!
Yep it's hard to tell on video but it is definitely quieter has it different tone... not as whiny but more of a deeper sound I love my v2 it's awesome
Definitely quieter. Great video Billy !
Nice work very excellent comparison!!!
Awesome! Sounds like it cuts out the high end frequencies.
Thanks Billy great review
Nice video Billy!
Thanks Kardoso!

@@billykyle What is this about me winning a mini 3 pro, and texting you on telegram??

As always - very good post.
Why cant you buy 4 of them at the same time you can only buy one pair??
Can you test lifting ability of Mavic vs Phantom etc?

K8UR Channel risky.
Hi, do you know whether they have same for 3 series?
I wonder what's the difference in thrust and battery life
Where did you place the noise sensor during the noise measurement?
About 5 feet in front of the drone
As always, Thank You....
My gimble did that same thing about 16 months ago. And I was flying over a lake, which made me very nervous. I landed it , made an inspection and found nothing out of the ordinary. It has not done it since. Weird.
i would like to see if they have any effect on battery life.
No effect on flight time.
I would really like an official answer on compatibility with the original 2016 Phantom 4. DJI omits that model from the compatibility list for some reason...
Due to the difference in the quick release props they will not work. I accidentally added the standard Phantom 4 in the list in this video.

Good point. It even twitches when using tripod mode, thought. Leaves me wondering.
That's great stuff. They're a fantastic series line but very loud. Lol

Awesome thanks mate
Do they work on p4 standard
Hope they make one for mavic air!
Don't get me wrong, but please clean your camera censor, its dirty all over the place :) Thanks for video, as always awesome!
thanks dude.
Mr. Billy, any word on low noise props for the mavic air or spark???
None that I know of, sorry!
the phantom 4 pro v.2 has lower noise motors these propellers work much better with the v.2 version
billy will they just attatch to the p4 or do I need a new mount ty
AWESOME AUSSIE 2 they will
Imagine if they put low noise props on the spark. I think DJI should do that
That would be awesome!
I live in the Netherlands and here these low noise propeller arent available yet.

They're shit, trust me, they're still loud as fuck.
Can u use those new prop on the Phantom 4?
I am wondering the same. DJI doesn't say the P4 is compatible...
Indigo Ryno I guess Billy doesn't like me. He never replys to my comments anymore. Probably because we talked hockey when he's a flyers fan and I'm a penguins. Lol
Yes you can and they do make a difference.
$41 shipped in 2019

Illiterate fuckwit
Darn, i would have loved to use it on my P4 standard.

No
sweet. just picked mine up from the local store. noticeable sound reduction
what mic are you using?
Azden SMX30
thanks for the feedback
How to add sound to a video you are making
nice video .....not much diff in idle ....but seems to be a major diff in flight ...thank you my friend ....where that new shirt ?!? LOL
Haha " priming the motors" lolol
just bought them
We need low noise mavic air props
Not really bothered with the current noise so will just skip this one
Mine are like twice as loud as the original ones :|

cheaper on eBay
Guys like u Billy dont earn a drone.. Who fly with errors ;(
