I was hoping you'd include one really cool thing that was done. The VA for Parallel Nightmare in Super Kirby Clash is Banjo Ginga, who had voiced Nightmare in the original Japanese dub for the anime. Roughly a 10 year Reprisal from the last time he did anything with the character, and 16 from the anime's final episode. Nothing to do with lore, but a fun note.

I've said before I absolutely LOVE Nightmare as a villain, and I'll say it time and time again. He has pretty much no association with Dark Matter, he just does terrible things because he's a diabolical villain that just wants to cause misery because it's in his best interest, and sometimes you don't need a sad backstory, sometimes just being evil for the sake of evil is motivation enough and I love that about Nightmare. That, and his battle theme is amazing, I hope Nightmare starts becoming a regular villain again in the games!
Phew, that's it. That's the last TRUE video I thought was in dire need of an update! There are a couple I still plan to, but this one I always felt was a missed opportunity last time. I spent the entire video explaining why the anime WASN'T canon, rather than explaining what IS canon... regardless if it's from a separate universe! *Hey Meteorz,* If you plan on researching the anime soon... then I highly reccomend that you start with the Japanese Dub first. The anime actually reveals a bit more details that really do put a few of things that appear in the games into context. I did a bit of research on the anime myself, and I came across a few things that might help you out if you plan on making an episode that's _ENTIRELY_ dedicated to the anime. You may probably know most of these things... but I really hope that this'll help you in the long-run. [And don't be surprised if I bring up "Kirby Mass Attack" a lot. 😒] 1. Galaxia (Meta Knight's Sword) recieved it's name in the anime. [The game's didn't tell us anything about this before the anime came to be.] 2. Oddly enough... in "Kirby Squeak Squad" (and in "Kirby Mass Attack"), if you look at the design for both "King Dedede's Castle" & "The Halberd"... you'll notice that the designs for both of them look incredibly similar to the way they appeared in the Anime itself. [Not to mention that while you fight King Dedede in his throne-room, you can see the "NME Teleporter" in the background.] 3. Meta Knight's & King Dedede have had multiple redesigns in some of the more modern releases. And those redesigns happen to take slight inspiration from the anime. [This is more noticeable in "Kirby's Return to Dreamland" and "Kirby Star Allies".] 4. Fact: Spear Waddle Dees first appeared in the Anime, not the games. (Bandana Dee is more notable... considering that he's pretty skilled with a spear, just like the Waddle Dees in the Anime.) 5. Sword Knight & Blade Knight reappear in "Meta Knightmare Ultra" (Kirby Super Star Ultra) and in "Kirby Mass Attack" as Meta Knight's Allies, just like in the anime. [However, the anime itself was a bit more specific with the reasoning than the game's did.] 6. Kirby speaks in his "Poyo" language in the anime (and sometimes full words in the Japanese Version). This is odd, considering that in the "Kirby Drama CD" [Which was OFFICIALLY published by Nintendo of Japan], he is able to speak in full sentences with ease. "N.M.E Sales Guy", Escargoon, Chef Shiitake, Max Flexer, and even "Kabuki Kirby" all make appearances in one of the sub-games. And to add... you can even fight "Chef Kawasaki" in his resturaunt (which looks incredibly similar to the way it appears in the anime.) 8. The 'Curry Attack' in one of the sub-games in "Kirby Mass Attack" is based on the "Toxic Atomic Curry" in the anime (which was HILARIOUSLY mistaken for the Fire Ability in one instance). 9. The "Water Ability" in 'Kirby's Return to Dreamland' first appeared in the anime (and the circumstances were quite odd at that). 10. In "Kirby Star Allies", Kirby makes a face that's very similar to how he appeared in Episode 95 of the Anime (which is my personal favorite), when he gets possessed by a Demon Frog that forces him to kill all of his friends. Not to mention that the design for King Dedede (in his buff state) is incredibly similar to how he looks in the very same episode when HE gets possessed by the demon frog. 11. If you wait on the title screen in 'Star Allies', you will eventually see Waddle Doo commanding a group of Waddle Dees, which is a reference to his own role in the anime (which was eventually made a bit more clear as the show went on).
A lot of the stuff in the Anime was used to update the games' visual scheme, like Dedede's appearance, Meta Knight's appearance, Spear Dees, a Waddle Doo commander, Galaxia receiving its name, the Star Warrior Army, Nightmare and NME, etc. Likewise, the games will occasionally reference the Anime, like the Water ability, Bandana Waddle Dee, updating Nightmare's appearance in NMiDL to his Anime style, Kirby's Air Ride, Chef Kawasaki, you know the drill. Simply put, Nightmare hasn't been given any further characterization, because he's already fully fleshed out. If Hyness was indeed telling the truth, then the Jambandra Cult helped seal Nightmare in ancient times, and being exiled was their reward, because Halcandra was salty. It's pretty screwed up, honestly.
Nightmare might have some connection with the ancients He has a parallel form and they always come from another dimension and the ancients had been there before He went after the star rod which was made by the ancients And he made the same two portals as hyness It’s not enough to confirm anything but just some food for thoughts
And also he summoned Galacta knight (oh I'm sorry AEON HERO) which implys at least a knowledge of the ancients and he has been called a "wizard" before which is a title that I think has only been given to Magolor, which is a character heavily connected to the ancients
I remember playing nightmare in dream land and thinking nightmare was absolutely scary. He actually gave me nightmares. Also I can't be the only one who remembers him from kirby rbay.
Something I felt was interesting to mention is that in the anime, Nightmare was the one who made Kirby, that is, by accident. Kirby was originally going to be another monster if not for Nightmare's mistake. While not exactly the same as Kirby's origin in the games, it's interesting to see how close that story and the one Star Allies tells are
@@vortex7926 The anime ran from Oct. 2001 to Sep. 2003, i.e., before Kirby really took a deep dive into lore, so none of stuff like that existed unfortunately. This is an interesting idea to think about though
@@silver_diamonds the anime didn't have much reference for what to do in terms of story, since it was practically nonexistent at first. But the games have made many references to the anime. And they can always write their story to include the of share or right the d#%&\Becerra
I remember people brought this up in other videos, but stated that Meta Knight was the failed monster. I personally find that a bit more believable seeing as he knows about pretty much every NME monster

You know in the anime Kirby Right Back at Ya, many kirby fans believe that the Nightmare Wizard created Meta Knight but Meta Knight rebelled against him. Maybe Meta Knight's origins in the game universe maybe the same since Meta Knight was testing Kirby in Kirby's Adventure (Nightmare in Dreamland).

I want a reboot of the Kirby anime, not gonna lie. And frankly, there is a ton of new events from the games it could gain inspiration from or even expand on. Like giving backgrounds for some of the characters or bosses that we normally wouldn't in the games (Marx, Magalor, Galacta Knight, and far far more). My only issue is they would likely change the precious gems that are Meta Knight and Dedede's voices... Gotta love Slightly Southern Dedede and Overly Spaniard Meta Knight.
Ironically, in the anime what would normally be nightmare's weak spot was what made him almost unkillable, as opening his cape made all attacks just disappear as they went through him.
The way I see it...it seems that Kirby here may be the one franchise to actually just try to not just coexist with non-canon references, but also include them as closely as possible as it can to the main timeline. Considering how grandiose Kirby has gotten with it's games and upscaling battles in terms of power...we may even come to play a game where ALL forms of Kirby come together in 1 reality. Since we already have space manipulation such as jumping from dimension to another, we may actually have a game or event where Kirby can run into himself from another timeline such as Team Kirby Clash, in an attempt to canonize that timeline. It's really insane but it could be in fact very cool and interesting to see interactions between Shadow Kirby and the others...or even Anime Kirby with Game Kirby, not to mention the kind of power they could yield with all of these Kirbs all together.
Also while the event between Void was really over the top...that was essentially a fight between Kirby and Frends vs 1 being that has the likeness and power of 1 Kirby. So what if there was something far more dangerous than Void itself? Who knows what's going to come...and what we may need to beat them this time?
I think you should do a video on bandana waddle dee. I know you already mentioned him in the king dedede video but I feel like there’s enough information about him for him to get his own episode. Then again it might just be a 5 minute analysis of the Kirby battle Royale story.
Legoluigi26 yay he’s like a completely different character in both games. He basically took a 180 form dedede to kirby. Than again I’m pretty sure battle Royale is not cannon but it’s likely Bandana waddle has the same personality in the main games.
There is something worth saying about Nightmare that I feel a lot of people miss (I myself did so until recently). Nightmare isn't some wizard who came to Dreamland to do what he did, he was created in Dreamland by the Fountain of Dreams, the thing that makes the inhabitant s' dreams flow & become real, Nightmare's a bad dream; a literal nightmare, then he became real/got flesh at the end of Adventure, that's why shattering the Star Rod sealed him before & making it power the Fountain again "revives" him. So yeah, this is hard to notice given that it comes from info from the beginning of the game+the end+the same from the remake+the guide of the original game+it's supported by non-canon info in Smash+the Fountain of Dreams used to have other name, it was a mess, and things that support it in Super Team Kirby Clash could be dismissed as poetic. So while this should discard how canon Nightmare could have had a past like in the anime, the fact that the series deals with alternative universes on a regular basis since a while could make anyone hope that, one day, the anime, all non-canon content in the games and manga could be stated to be canon within the same multiverse, just in other universes that aren't the one where stuff happens in the main canon. Like Marvel & DC comics with their 616 universe & New Earth respectively.
I would agree with this somewhat, were it not for the fact that he literally never comes back ever again after he dies. So unless Kirby somehow purified the Fountain after the fight in some way, shape or form, he should've been coming back on a common basis, but this was not the case, unfortunately. He just went nuclear and took part of the moon with him. And the only other time we see him is in an alternate dimension with an alternate version, and even then, the Fountain isn't present in that game. And he STILL dies.
Gray Grey There are 4 ways to go from that 1.The version in the anime has that ability, you could most likely even say the same for Parallel Nightmare, but Nightmare in the main canon maybe doesn't. Who's to say that being a nightmare=having the ability to come back to life after dying? The only prove that has here is "a non-canon version of the character did that". 2. On Parallel Nightmare, he did come back after GK destroyed him, and one could maybe claim that regular Nightmare should be able to do the same, if so then it wouldn't matter if he comes back in future games or not, he would have still been born as a real nightmare. 3. Maybe he is alive & still evil but doesn't feel like messing with Kirby again (yet), that much can be said of many enemies in the series, +he did show up in some minigame. 4. Again, Nightmare WAS a nightmare, for a while. The Star Rod turns dream into reality and Parallel Nightmare was said to be "a nightmare in flesh", Nightmare has no reason to not have, well, also flesh. So again with the 1sh point, only the Nightmare from the anime would have that power.

I still remember the big theory I made when star allies released where due to the zero being in the mastercrown-theory, kirbys kind was still recovering and then nightmare attacked and killed almost everyone on halcandria, which is why kirby was sent to popstar and metaknight got out of there to serve under dedede, who still has the monsterdownload device(battlemap against him in mouse attack), but is more greedy than an actual villain there. Basically, one thing came after another which made the multispecies-alliance of the ancients go under and only a few jambastions(who got banished) and people from kirbys species survived that mess and monsters are a neutral power in the universe that are not created by nightmare and dedede just somehow managed to find a way to download them from beyond time and space. That was actually kind of a rad theory, but I know how that went.
I know this doesn’t mean a lot related but it’s worth mention it but Parallel Nightmare’s voice actor is basically the same one who voiced Nightmare in the Japanese dub of the Kirby anime.
I didn't expect Meteorz to change his stance on the anime like this, but it is hard to completely dismiss it since Galaxia did make it's first appearance there. The anime certainly gives Nightmare more personality, which is nice, but I wouldn't think that his backstory has much connection to the games.
Hypernova03 to me, I think it’s kinda weird that whenever nightmare talks, his mouth never moves in the anime, but in kirby super clash,when he is laughing maniacally, he does move his mouth.
i mean they can probably still use him being immortal since as long as there is nightmares he cannot be killed perminently (he literally is nightmares in the anime japanese version cut monologue) and they can use this excuse to bring him back infinite times
Meta Knight's sword first appearance was along him in Kirby's Adventure. And the canonical name for Meta's sword is The Master Sword, as said in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.

What if the Sectonia we see in Triple Deluxe, was a mirror version of the real Sectonia. The gallery picture in star allies even shows someone similar to Taranza in the mirror.
Potatoe Fanner that’s sectoria true form in the mirror. And also in miiverse they said that by looking into the mirror is what turned sectonia into what she is today. Also in the pause screen description for soul of sectonia it says she cannot remember her true form. This wouldn’t make sense of it was a mirror world version of sectonia.

My theory is that Nightmare could be the source of many different demons and monsters within the Kirby universe, based on the anime and what happens in Team Kirby Clash, but that’s just my two cents!
in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Meta Knight's theme is titled "Sword of the Surviving Guardian" so, while it's a loose connection to the concept of the Star Warriors, I could totally see the anime lore being applicable in one way or another to the mainline, unless this ends up being setup for *different* new lore, or it could simply not mean much at all i just felt it was interesting to bring up
Ignoring the "monsters" that are obviously descended from animals in ancient times like before Shiver Star froze over, having Nightmare build a company with ancient tech to create soliders is probably the most creative and realistic origin of all of Kirby's mini-bosses, and perhaps even some bosses who are unaccounted for. It's not like that's unheard of (gestures to Egg Engines and the HWC). Great point about how, like the Taranzas before him, his Parallel counterpart controlled most enemies as well. ...Hey, you find it funny that in death, the first darkness boss of Kirby makes the same face as Void, the last? It's a detail that remains even in Super Kirby Clash.
Fun fact from the Anime, it was implied by Meta Knight that Nightmare once created the most powerful monster ever to exist. But this monster was so powerful that it refused his commands. Nightmare knew that it would only be a matter of time before his greatest creation turned against him and would eventually defeat him once and for all. So he banished it. And that monster was a chess piece shaped like a little pink ball. It's funny how no matter what media Kirby appears in, his/her/their true origins are always directly tied to a source of ultimate evil. Just further proving that Kirby and their enemies are really just two sides to the same coin.🙂
Have you ever considered looking to king d mind? Sure, he is just a shadow dedede clone in gameplay perspective, but I think that king d Mind is a reincarnation of Dark Mind from Kirby’s amazing mirror. Why exactly? If you look at king d mind’s own helmet, it’s exactly the same as Dark mind’s own helmet. Also, look at King D mind’s eyeball attacks.The eyeball itself is Dark Mind’s true form. Also, some attacks are similar to Dark mind’s while some others are like dark matters. The name can also have a different meaning, some people might call him “King Dedede Mind” But it would actually make more sense if it actually means “King Dark Mind”. And considering that he literally attacked dark taranza and nightmare for summoning him, it’s easy to see why: HE DOESN’T NEED TO FOLLOW SOMEONE ELSE. That’s kinda enough evidence, plus the fact that he came out of a mirror. How about shadow dedede? Two ways, Dark mind possessed shadow dedede or they are two completely different characters.
I used to think that Dark Mind possess the body of Shadow Dedede after the events of Triple Deluxe, creating King D-Mind. But now that Super Kirby Clash makes it look the Dream Kingdom is in the past, compared to the main series, I'm not sure about that theory anymore.
Solibrae Solibrae possibly shadow dedede was simply following Dark Mind’s commands like Dark Meta knight. Also, it’s not confirmed that Dark Mind actually got destroyed despite the final battle in amazing mirror. As the game claims that the mirror world is safe, despite the fact that in triple deluxe, it took control over Sectonia’s sanity even though it’s clearly way after the events of amazing mirror. Also, maybe looking at dark taranza is a possible clue as well.Noticed that he looked more like a bee? That could have been a “between” phase of taranza’s transformation of Ending up like sectonia. Maybe all of the mirror counterparts were like the primed characters in the Kirby series at one point before dark mind invaded the realm. Like shadow dedede’s true enemy is his heart.Which it could be from dark mind’s corruption. Or Dark mind could possibly be responsible for creating the Dark and shadow counterparts of the main heroes, but giving them opposite personalities to help increase the chances of his armada being very successful. Shadow Kirby is the only one that is not evil like shadow dedede or Dark Meta knight, which could be a reason why he’s more of a coward in that game.Dark Mind wants to kill shadow Kirby. And also, why would his reincarnation be similar in appearance to King Dedede? Maybe Dark Mind actually knew about the past events of what happened to king dedede, especially the possession of Dark Matter. Which, could explain why shadow dedede even had that feature in the first place. And considering that his phase (when Dark Mind has a so called *body* ) is not even his true form. So it could have well been a possibility that dark mind recreated the body, out of king dedede’s image.
Mooffgamesgamer The Mirror World counterparts are the embodiments of the worst aspects of their respective counterparts (excluding Shadow Kirby kinda). Dark Meta Knight is the embodiment of Meta Knight's solitude and desire for strength and power. The Shadow Dedede's darkness in his heart being his true enemy thing was a mistranslation; the original said that REGULAR Dedede's true enemy was the darkness in his own heart. So, Shadow Dedede is the embodiment of Dedede's darkness in his heart and his greed, hence his stomach opening into a mouth. Lastly, Dark Taranza is the embodiment of Taranza's grief over Sectonia, which is why he looks the way he does. And yeah, I guess you could say that Dark Mind technically created them, since mirrors only reflect bad things when corrupted with evil (except for the black mirror, which always reflects bad things).

@@Mooffgamesgamer Except it's really hard to consider the clash series as canon for Dark Mind because DMK exists' in Star Allies and DM has never made another appearance that has affected the main series in anyway unless we're talking long term effects, but that's reaching. It's still super easy to pin the events of Triple Deluxe on DMK because he's still around and is causing issues. While all we ever see of DM is relegated to Clash and only clash with the dark side mirror, with DMK using the regular mirror and having mirror powers.
I have a smoll theory. So what if nightmare is created by the star rod. The star rod has powers over dreams.. but what about nightmares? What if nightmare was created by well nightmares. The pause screen description of nightmare in dreamland when you fight nightmare kinda support this where it calls it the nightmares. Tho that might be a translation error. Yes. I'm fairly certain that the 'Another dimension' is the same Another dimension in the main games, so it is canon. At this point, every spin off game could potentially be canon.
I think that there should be a video about Parallel Universes. We have: -The Regular World where all the maingames happen -Mirror World (Kirby and the Amazing Mirror/implied in Kirby Triple Deluxe) -Parallel World (Kirby Star Allies) -Dark Mirror World (Kirby Team Clash Deluxe/Super Kirby Clash) -Many other timelines where Galacta Knight travels by* *Galacta Knight is implied to be a Time Traveler, as his nicknames, Temporal Warrior and Aeon Hero, say so. Many of the encounters with him are in non-canon gamemodes like Arena, but maybe his existance there makes them canonical alternative timelines. *There are many interaction between those universes. Super Kirby Clash happens inside the Dark Mirror World, and the main antagonist is Parallel Nightmare, and there are other Parallel Characters as well (Parallel Landia, Parallel Susie, etc.). This means that the Parallel World and the Dark Mirror worlds have interacted before. *Many connections can be done. For example, Galacta Knight/Aeon Hero in Super Kirby Clash attacks using the Heart Spears, which were used to seal Void Termina in the past. Maybe Galacta Knight himself was one of the Four Heroes of Yore who sealed Void! On the other hand, in the Dark Mirror World, Team Kirby is composed of four heroes. What if they are the Four Heroes of Yore of the Dark Mirror? Who are they counterparts in other Worlds? There is very much to talk about this... But there is something even more suspicious about all of this. What if the Dark Mirror World doesn't exist? Kirby Team Clash Deluxe and specially Super Kirby Clash have hints about them happening in another world, but there are some hints as well that make it look like it happened in the past. In the past of our Regular Maingame Universe. Team Kirby is composed of 4 Kirbies. They may be the Original Four Heroes of Yore and maybe even Kirby's old incarnations.
I feel like another dimension is just the name and it is actually just a space in-between dimension that spawn evil entities the interact with objects made from darkness

Here's the real revelation. Parallel Nightmare has a red color scheme, and therefore has a red glowing eye. Nightmare has a purple, sometimes dark blue color, and purple is sort of a variation of blue. Put two and two together. Step aside Ness, we've found our true culprit
I always kind of thought watching the anime before I was aware of the lore that Nightmare/NME was responsible for creating Kirby who had yet to mature into a proper monster but had the potential to be the most powerful.
I personally see the anime as an alternate universe where the Fountain of Dreams was never created and Nightmare was never Imprisoned. With other altercations (Kirby isn’t a baby in the games, among other stuff).
Yeah, the anime definitely had a lot of lore about the ancient times of Dream Land and Popstar. I wish that we would get more specification on the things in the past like Meta Knight (and potentially Kirby’s) species origins, Nightmare, and biggest of all the Ancients themselves.
Now that you mention it, Nightmare being the "Galacta crisis" mentioned by Hyness makes sense. If I can add on to that. I know this is a stretch. In Super Kirby Clash, Galacta Knight uses the spears that sealed the Jamba Heart. This implies he was good at one point. Going off of that, what if Galacta Knight fought against Nightmare in said Galactic crisis and was the reason he was sealed. It's been stated by Nova that Galacta knight was sealed for his immense power. What if it was this crisis against Nightmare that lead him to show "his power". What if the ancients saw this power and was the reason for being sealed. I know I am so wrong on this and feel free to correct me about it but hey. It's just my little theory
For now, I think of Nightmare as merely a creation resulting from the mixture of negative energy from Void and the dream energy of a fountain of dreams not maintained well enough to prevent it. I also like to think that he is a manifestation of the fears of a planet's citizens, which in Popstar's case would be a powerful wizard that wants to rule everything.
if you count the anime he literally is the incarnation of nightmares who will always exist as long as there is nightmares in the japanese version of the anime since they have cut the monologue in the english version to make it more satisfactory

I was hoping you'd include one really cool thing that was done. The VA for Parallel Nightmare in Super Kirby Clash is Banjo Ginga, who had voiced Nightmare in the original Japanese dub for the anime. Roughly a 10 year Reprisal from the last time he did anything with the character, and 16 from the anime's final episode. Nothing to do with lore, but a fun note.

I've said before I absolutely LOVE Nightmare as a villain, and I'll say it time and time again. He has pretty much no association with Dark Matter, he just does terrible things because he's a diabolical villain that just wants to cause misery because it's in his best interest, and sometimes you don't need a sad backstory, sometimes just being evil for the sake of evil is motivation enough and I love that about Nightmare. That, and his battle theme is amazing, I hope Nightmare starts becoming a regular villain again in the games!
Villains with no motivation are boring unless done right.

Hey Meteorz! Have you seen the new super Kirby clash channel post? It gave some information on parallel Susie and Another dimension. It may not be much, but it's still worth a read.
*Hey Meteorz,* If you plan on researching the anime soon... then I highly reccomend that you start with the Japanese Dub first. The anime actually reveals a bit more details that really do put a few of things that appear in the games into context. I did a bit of research on the anime myself, and I came across a few things that might help you out if you plan on making an episode that's _ENTIRELY_ dedicated to the anime. You may probably know most of these things... but I really hope that this'll help you in the long-run.
[And don't be surprised if I bring up "Kirby Mass Attack" a lot. 😒]
1. Galaxia (Meta Knight's Sword) recieved it's name in the anime. [The game's didn't tell us anything about this before the anime came to be.]
2. Oddly enough... in "Kirby Squeak Squad" (and in "Kirby Mass Attack"), if you look at the design for both "King Dedede's Castle" & "The Halberd"... you'll notice that the designs for both of them look incredibly similar to the way they appeared in the Anime itself. [Not to mention that while you fight King Dedede in his throne-room, you can see the "NME Teleporter" in the background.]
3. Meta Knight's & King Dedede have had multiple redesigns in some of the more modern releases. And those redesigns happen to take slight inspiration from the anime. [This is more noticeable in "Kirby's Return to Dreamland" and "Kirby Star Allies".]
4. Fact: Spear Waddle Dees first appeared in the Anime, not the games. (Bandana Dee is more notable... considering that he's pretty skilled with a spear, just like the Waddle Dees in the Anime.)
5. Sword Knight & Blade Knight reappear in "Meta Knightmare Ultra" (Kirby Super Star Ultra) and in "Kirby Mass Attack" as Meta Knight's Allies, just like in the anime. [However, the anime itself was a bit more specific with the reasoning than the game's did.]
6. Kirby speaks in his "Poyo" language in the anime (and sometimes full words in the Japanese Version). This is odd, considering that in the "Kirby Drama CD" [Which was OFFICIALLY published by Nintendo of Japan], he is able to speak in full sentences with ease.

7. In "Kirby Mass Attack"... "N.M.E Sales Guy", Escargoon, Chef Shiitake, Max Flexer, and even "Kabuki Kirby" all make appearances in one of the sub-games. And to add... you can even fight "Chef Kawasaki" in his resturaunt (which looks incredibly similar to the way it appears in the anime.)
8. The 'Curry Attack' in one of the sub-games in "Kirby Mass Attack" is based on the "Toxic Atomic Curry" in the anime (which was HILARIOUSLY mistaken for the Fire Ability in one instance).
9. The "Water Ability" in 'Kirby's Return to Dreamland' first appeared in the anime (and the circumstances were quite odd at that).
10. In "Kirby Star Allies", Kirby makes a face that's very similar to how he appeared in Episode 95 of the Anime (which is my personal favorite), when he gets possessed by a Demon Frog that forces him to kill all of his friends. Not to mention that the design for King Dedede (in his buff state) is incredibly similar to how he looks in the very same episode when HE gets possessed by the demon frog.
11. If you wait on the title screen in 'Star Allies', you will eventually see Waddle Doo commanding a group of Waddle Dees, which is a reference to his own role in the anime (which was eventually made a bit more clear as the show went on).
I love "What is Kirby Canon"
Love the anime, I re watch it roughly twice a year myself start to finish. Cant get enough of it.
A lot of the stuff in the Anime was used to update the games' visual scheme, like Dedede's appearance, Meta Knight's appearance, Spear Dees, a Waddle Doo commander, Galaxia receiving its name, the Star Warrior Army, Nightmare and NME, etc.
Likewise, the games will occasionally reference the Anime, like the Water ability, Bandana Waddle Dee, updating Nightmare's appearance in NMiDL to his Anime style, Kirby's Air Ride, Chef Kawasaki, you know the drill. Simply put, Nightmare hasn't been given any further characterization, because he's already fully fleshed out. If Hyness was indeed telling the truth, then the Jambandra Cult helped seal Nightmare in ancient times, and being exiled was their reward, because Halcandra was salty. It's pretty screwed up, honestly.

He has a parallel form and they always come from another dimension and the ancients had been there before
He went after the star rod which was made by the ancients
And he made the same two portals as hyness

And also he summoned Galacta knight (oh I'm sorry AEON HERO) which implys at least a knowledge of the ancients and he has been called a "wizard" before which is a title that I think has only been given to Magolor, which is a character heavily connected to the ancients

Something I felt was interesting to mention is that in the anime, Nightmare was the one who made Kirby, that is, by accident. Kirby was originally going to be another monster if not for Nightmare's mistake. While not exactly the same as Kirby's origin in the games, it's interesting to see how close that story and the one Star Allies tells are

You know in the anime Kirby Right Back at Ya, many kirby fans believe that the Nightmare Wizard created Meta Knight but Meta Knight rebelled against him. Maybe Meta Knight's origins in the game universe maybe the same since Meta Knight was testing Kirby in Kirby's Adventure (Nightmare in Dreamland).
Not to be a pessimist, but we’ll get a 3D Kirby game before nightmare lore. Which is to say, a long time later.

I want a reboot of the Kirby anime, not gonna lie. And frankly, there is a ton of new events from the games it could gain inspiration from or even expand on. Like giving backgrounds for some of the characters or bosses that we normally wouldn't in the games (Marx, Magalor, Galacta Knight, and far far more). My only issue is they would likely change the precious gems that are Meta Knight and Dedede's voices...
Gotta love Slightly Southern Dedede and Overly Spaniard Meta Knight.
Ironically, in the anime what would normally be nightmare's weak spot was what made him almost unkillable, as opening his cape made all attacks just disappear as they went through him.
I hope someone returns the Star Rod in real life soon, so I can get some decent sleep for once.

The way I see it...it seems that Kirby here may be the one franchise to actually just try to not just coexist with non-canon references, but also include them as closely as possible as it can to the main timeline.
Considering how grandiose Kirby has gotten with it's games and upscaling battles in terms of power...we may even come to play a game where ALL forms of Kirby come together in 1 reality. Since we already have space manipulation such as jumping from dimension to another, we may actually have a game or event where Kirby can run into himself from another timeline such as Team Kirby Clash, in an attempt to canonize that timeline.
It's really insane but it could be in fact very cool and interesting to see interactions between Shadow Kirby and the others...or even Anime Kirby with Game Kirby, not to mention the kind of power they could yield with all of these Kirbs all together.
Also while the event between Void was really over the top...that was essentially a fight between Kirby and Frends vs 1 being that has the likeness and power of 1 Kirby. So what if there was something far more dangerous than Void itself? Who knows what's going to come...and what we may need to beat them this time?
I think you should do a video on bandana waddle dee. I know you already mentioned him in the king dedede video but I feel like there’s enough information about him for him to get his own episode. Then again it might just be a 5 minute analysis of the Kirby battle Royale story.

Legoluigi26 yay he’s like a completely different character in both games. He basically took a 180 form dedede to kirby. Than again I’m pretty sure battle Royale is not cannon but it’s likely Bandana waddle has the same personality in the main games.
There is something worth saying about Nightmare that I feel a lot of people miss (I myself did so until recently). Nightmare isn't some wizard who came to Dreamland to do what he did, he was created in Dreamland by the Fountain of Dreams, the thing that makes the inhabitant
s' dreams flow & become real, Nightmare's a bad dream; a literal nightmare, then he became real/got flesh at the end of Adventure, that's why shattering the Star Rod sealed him before & making it power the Fountain again "revives" him. So yeah, this is hard to notice given that it comes from info from the beginning of the game+the end+the same from the remake+the guide of the original game+it's supported by non-canon info in Smash+the Fountain of Dreams used to have other name, it was a mess, and things that support it in Super Team Kirby Clash could be dismissed as poetic.
So while this should discard how canon Nightmare could have had a past like in the anime, the fact that the series deals with alternative universes on a regular basis since a while could make anyone hope that, one day, the anime, all non-canon content in the games and manga could be stated to be canon within the same multiverse, just in other universes that aren't the one where stuff happens in the main canon. Like Marvel & DC comics with their 616 universe & New Earth respectively.
I would agree with this somewhat, were it not for the fact that he literally never comes back ever again after he dies. So unless Kirby somehow purified the Fountain after the fight in some way, shape or form, he should've been coming back on a common basis, but this was not the case, unfortunately. He just went nuclear and took part of the moon with him. And the only other time we see him is in an alternate dimension with an alternate version, and even then, the Fountain isn't present in that game. And he STILL dies.
Gray Grey There are 4 ways to go from that
1.The version in the anime has that ability, you could most likely even say the same for Parallel Nightmare, but Nightmare in the main canon maybe doesn't. Who's to say that being a nightmare=having the ability to come back to life after dying? The only prove that has here is "a non-canon version of the character did that".
2. On Parallel Nightmare, he did come back after GK destroyed him, and one could maybe claim that regular Nightmare should be able to do the same, if so then it wouldn't matter if he comes back in future games or not, he would have still been born as a real nightmare.
3. Maybe he is alive & still evil but doesn't feel like messing with Kirby again (yet), that much can be said of many enemies in the series, +he did show up in some minigame.
4. Again, Nightmare WAS a nightmare, for a while. The Star Rod turns dream into reality and Parallel Nightmare was said to be "a nightmare in flesh", Nightmare has no reason to not have, well, also flesh. So again with the 1sh point, only the Nightmare from the anime would have that power.

I still remember the big theory I made when star allies released where due to the zero being in the mastercrown-theory, kirbys kind was still recovering and then nightmare attacked and killed almost everyone on halcandria, which is why kirby was sent to popstar and metaknight got out of there to serve under dedede, who still has the monsterdownload device(battlemap against him in mouse attack), but is more greedy than an actual villain there.
Basically, one thing came after another which made the multispecies-alliance of the ancients go under and only a few jambastions(who got banished) and people from kirbys species survived that mess and monsters are a neutral power in the universe that are not created by nightmare and dedede just somehow managed to find a way to download them from beyond time and space. That was actually kind of a rad theory, but I know how that went.

I know this doesn’t mean a lot related but it’s worth mention it but Parallel Nightmare’s voice actor is basically the same one who voiced Nightmare in the Japanese dub of the Kirby anime.
I didn't expect Meteorz to change his stance on the anime like this, but it is hard to completely dismiss it since Galaxia did make it's first appearance there. The anime certainly gives Nightmare more personality, which is nice, but I wouldn't think that his backstory has much connection to the games.

Meta Knight's sword first appearance was along him in Kirby's Adventure. And the canonical name for Meta's sword is The Master Sword, as said in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.

What if the Sectonia we see in Triple Deluxe, was a mirror version of the real Sectonia. The gallery picture in star allies even shows someone similar to Taranza in the mirror.

Also in the pause screen description for soul of sectonia it says she cannot remember her true form. This wouldn’t make sense of it was a mirror world version of sectonia.

My theory is that Nightmare could be the source of many different demons and monsters within the Kirby universe, based on the anime and what happens in Team Kirby Clash, but that’s just my two cents!

so, while it's a loose connection to the concept of the Star Warriors, I could totally see the anime lore being applicable in one way or another to the mainline, unless this ends up being setup for *different* new lore, or it could simply not mean much at all

Ignoring the "monsters" that are obviously descended from animals in ancient times like before Shiver Star froze over, having Nightmare build a company with ancient tech to create soliders is probably the most creative and realistic origin of all of Kirby's mini-bosses, and perhaps even some bosses who are unaccounted for. It's not like that's unheard of (gestures to Egg Engines and the HWC). Great point about how, like the Taranzas before him, his Parallel counterpart controlled most enemies as well. ...Hey, you find it funny that in death, the first darkness boss of Kirby makes the same face as Void, the last? It's a detail that remains even in Super Kirby Clash.

Fun fact from the Anime, it was implied by Meta Knight that Nightmare once created the most powerful monster ever to exist. But this monster was so powerful that it refused his commands. Nightmare knew that it would only be a matter of time before his greatest creation turned against him and would eventually defeat him once and for all. So he banished it. And that monster was a chess piece shaped like a little pink ball. It's funny how no matter what media Kirby appears in, his/her/their true origins are always directly tied to a source of ultimate evil. Just further proving that Kirby and their enemies are really just two sides to the same coin.🙂

I used to think that Dark Mind possess the body of Shadow Dedede after the events of Triple Deluxe, creating King D-Mind. But now that Super Kirby Clash makes it look the Dream Kingdom is in the past, compared to the main series, I'm not sure about that theory anymore.

Also, it’s not confirmed that Dark Mind actually got destroyed despite the final battle in amazing mirror.
As the game claims that the mirror world is safe, despite the fact that in triple deluxe, it took control over Sectonia’s sanity even though it’s clearly way after the events of amazing mirror.
Also, maybe looking at dark taranza is a possible clue as well.Noticed that he looked more like a bee?
That could have been a “between” phase of taranza’s transformation of Ending up like sectonia.
Maybe all of the mirror counterparts were like the primed characters in the Kirby series at one point before dark mind invaded the realm.
Like shadow dedede’s true enemy is his heart.Which it could be from dark mind’s corruption.

Dark mind could possibly be responsible for creating the Dark and shadow counterparts of the main heroes, but giving them opposite personalities to help increase the chances of his armada being very successful.
Shadow Kirby is the only one that is not evil like shadow dedede or Dark Meta knight, which could be a reason why he’s more of a coward in that game.Dark Mind wants to kill shadow Kirby.
And also, why would his reincarnation be similar in appearance to King Dedede?
Maybe Dark Mind actually knew about the past events of what happened to king dedede, especially the possession of Dark Matter.
Which, could explain why shadow dedede even had that feature in the first place.
And considering that his phase (when Dark Mind has a so called *body* ) is not even his true form.
So it could have well been a possibility that dark mind recreated the body, out of king dedede’s image.

Dark Meta Knight is the embodiment of Meta Knight's solitude and desire for strength and power. The Shadow Dedede's darkness in his heart being his true enemy thing was a mistranslation; the original said that REGULAR Dedede's true enemy was the darkness in his own heart. So, Shadow Dedede is the embodiment of Dedede's darkness in his heart and his greed, hence his stomach opening into a mouth. Lastly, Dark Taranza is the embodiment of Taranza's grief over Sectonia, which is why he looks the way he does. And yeah, I guess you could say that Dark Mind technically created them, since mirrors only reflect bad things when corrupted with evil (except for the black mirror, which always reflects bad things).

@@Mooffgamesgamer Except it's really hard to consider the clash series as canon for Dark Mind because DMK exists' in Star Allies and DM has never made another appearance that has affected the main series in anyway unless we're talking long term effects, but that's reaching. It's still super easy to pin the events of Triple Deluxe on DMK because he's still around and is causing issues. While all we ever see of DM is relegated to Clash and only clash with the dark side mirror, with DMK using the regular mirror and having mirror powers.

Yes. I'm fairly certain that the 'Another dimension' is the same Another dimension in the main games, so it is canon. At this point, every spin off game could potentially be canon.

-Mirror World (Kirby and the Amazing Mirror/implied in Kirby Triple Deluxe)
-Parallel World (Kirby Star Allies)
-Dark Mirror World (Kirby Team Clash Deluxe/Super Kirby Clash)
-Many other timelines where Galacta Knight travels by*
*Galacta Knight is implied to be a Time Traveler, as his nicknames, Temporal Warrior and Aeon Hero, say so. Many of the encounters with him are in non-canon gamemodes like Arena, but maybe his existance there makes them canonical alternative timelines.
*There are many interaction between those universes. Super Kirby Clash happens inside the Dark Mirror World, and the main antagonist is Parallel Nightmare, and there are other Parallel Characters as well (Parallel Landia, Parallel Susie, etc.). This means that the Parallel World and the Dark Mirror worlds have interacted before.
*Many connections can be done. For example, Galacta Knight/Aeon Hero in Super Kirby Clash attacks using the Heart Spears, which were used to seal Void Termina in the past. Maybe Galacta Knight himself was one of the Four Heroes of Yore who sealed Void! On the other hand, in the Dark Mirror World, Team Kirby is composed of four heroes. What if they are the Four Heroes of Yore of the Dark Mirror? Who are they counterparts in other Worlds?
There is very much to talk about this...
But there is something even more suspicious about all of this.

Here's the real revelation. Parallel Nightmare has a red color scheme, and therefore has a red glowing eye. Nightmare has a purple, sometimes dark blue color, and purple is sort of a variation of blue. Put two and two together.

I always kind of thought watching the anime before I was aware of the lore that Nightmare/NME was responsible for creating Kirby who had yet to mature into a proper monster but had the potential to be the most powerful.

I personally see the anime as an alternate universe where the Fountain of Dreams was never created and Nightmare was never Imprisoned. With other altercations (Kirby isn’t a baby in the games, among other stuff).
Yeah, the anime definitely had a lot of lore about the ancient times of Dream Land and Popstar. I wish that we would get more specification on the things in the past like Meta Knight (and potentially Kirby’s) species origins, Nightmare, and biggest of all the Ancients themselves.

Now that you mention it, Nightmare being the "Galacta crisis" mentioned by Hyness makes sense. If I can add on to that. I know this is a stretch. In Super Kirby Clash, Galacta Knight uses the spears that sealed the Jamba Heart. This implies he was good at one point. Going off of that, what if Galacta Knight fought against Nightmare in said Galactic crisis and was the reason he was sealed. It's been stated by Nova that Galacta knight was sealed for his immense power. What if it was this crisis against Nightmare that lead him to show "his power". What if the ancients saw this power and was the reason for being sealed. I know I am so wrong on this and feel free to correct me about it but hey. It's just my little theory

For now, I think of Nightmare as merely a creation resulting from the mixture of negative energy from Void and the dream energy of a fountain of dreams not maintained well enough to prevent it. I also like to think that he is a manifestation of the fears of a planet's citizens, which in Popstar's case would be a powerful wizard that wants to rule everything.
if you count the anime he literally is the incarnation of nightmares who will always exist as long as there is nightmares in the japanese version of the anime since they have cut the monologue in the english version to make it more satisfactory
The Monster summoner from the anime could be cannon as it appears in the boss battle against Dedede in Mouse Attack
