Miss this guy sooooo much! My parents would take me to his shows when I was kid. The last time he was in Pittsburgh he played an over 21 show and I couldn't go. My mom got me an autographed picture that he wrote, " See you at hartwood in the summer." He didn't make it. :'(
Saw him years ago in Nashville. I'll never forget it. What I wouldn't give to listen to him just tune his guitar now. But, we are lucky that we still have his music and he has inspired a generation of fantastic, young fingerstyle guitarists.
I have just noticed there is thanks to Randy Lutge on the sleeve of Michaels album Aerial Boundaries. It's lovely years later to see so much rare stuff on this channel. Thank you! :)
What is this sorcery? I’ve been in love with Michael’s music for 26 years now, and it’s still a magic to experience. I had the honor of meeting him and seeing him live. What a special person. The world is a better place because of him.
This is a time where we should have him taking away us from apathy and and indifference. We only have his music from 40 years ago. It's so sad we could not experience again his music. Lucky who attended his show and luckier who met him. Unfortunately he's unmistakably unreproducible apart from covers... God bless him
Intenso Hedges. Espontáneo y suelto de cuerpo entero, como un cometa explotando en las cuerdas con una guitarra que se enciende en llamas de sonidos. Gracias Michael por recordarme en mis 40s la chispa del arte y la vida !
It's so rare to read comments on anything and have them ALL be so positive! I saw Michael in 1986 in Moscow, Idaho. didn't know his music yet. What a treat. So inspiring and such a great human... Thank you for posting this. I wonder what year this was; he looks super young.

I so wish he had made it....
I met him a few times, such a beautiful cat in every way, and so generous with his time. There was no one like him before or since.
❤hedges was unique. He began a new style of playing. So brilliant. Stunning and awe inspiring.

That he did.

Thank you for everything Randy!
Mystical artist, one of those rare musicians that is in touch with something higher, truly one of the greatest.
Sweet Andy, thanks for the comment.
He was a real genius player & composer... Ragamuffin should remain forever in the guitar music lovers.
pretty sure I saw him at this concert @ the New Varsity w/Pierre Bensusan

I thank God for that day I came accross Windam Hill vinyls
The most interesting man in the world, he doesn't always drink beer, but when he does, he prefers what Michael Hedges is having :)

Those were the days. As I remember Michael like the vegetable curry we did.
