    Finally something that is both omni-compatible and interface-wise superior to soundgrid. And even easier to use and less expensive than Vienna Ensemble.

    This is some serious competition to Vienna Ensemble Pro. Obviously, VEP is dedicated for Samplers and snapshotting a session, but since DAW are becoming way more stable and the only bottleneck remains CPU and RAM limitation, augmenting your system with AudioGridder is the way to go!!

    Im using audio gridder with 3 slave machines. Latency isnt an issue for me at all as I record vocals and guitars thru audiogridder plugins. The main issue Ive come across is that if I use audiogridder with one slave activated, then it works perfect. If two or more slave machines have plugins/instruments then when you try to adjust any perimeters on the edit screen on the master computer then only the first slave computers plugins can be adjusted from the DAW and the other slave machines plugins can not. So, my work around is to use Vienna Ensemble Pro for all VSTi's and have all your FX plugins like reverbs, delays, channel strips...( any plugin that you would use as an insert ) on one slave machine that you dedicate for those types of plugins. THEN you dont need to have a separate screen showing the interface of those plugins. Those ones show up in your DAW and you can tweak them as you wish.

    • @AndreasPohl79
      @AndreasPohl79  3 роки тому +2

      I’m not sure i capture the full issue, but would be interesting to get to the root of it. Could you follow the steps here audiogridder.com/bug-reports/ on all your machines and create a help thread here github.com/apohl79/audiogridder/discussions and share the logs? thanks!
      ps: could also be very helpful if you would be able to create a screen capture of the session.

    I can see you are running plugin under Ilok (Air eq) ? how can you do that ? with Reaper we have reamote but to be able to use the vst/vst3 you need to have them installed on both machine with exactly the same version + license AND if it's with ilok you need to get for example the key on master and computer ilok on the slave. Some plugins are just authorized to run on 1 machine, also what about UAD plugin?
    so how is it possible ? the vst/vst3 only on the slave?

    Any way I can add presets made in my DAW so I don't have to go through a headache of doing it from the begining? When I try to open them from the folder they're stored using logic, it doesn't give me the option. Wondering if the extension for their plugins are other than .cst 🤔

    What I need to know, is since Audiogridder will be acting as the host VST in my windows DAW, will it allow me to use the Apple AU format or whatever they use, and translate it for use in my windows system DAW through Audiogridder as VST?

    It seems like from some examples people are able to use more plugins on a low powered server computer like a old mac mini then i would expect. Is that just because the server doesn’t have to run the daw as well as the plugins? Does this work with an m1 mac as the server?

    • @AndreasPohl79

      some people use m1 macs as well. not running the daw is a factor for sure. AG has minimal overhead, so your computers cpu can be mostly leveraged for processing plugins.

    could someone show a demo of Audiogridder on a PC?, It installed fine on Win 10, and my DAW is Cubase 9, but I must be missing something here. The Vst's are not showing up in the + dropdown?? Are the Vst's supposed to be installed on the server computer, not to my understanding?? This seems straightforward, but it's getting frustrating....any help would be much appreciated! thx

      I’m sorry, but I have no capacity working on legacy macOS versions. AG is 64bit only. And old macOS versions are not freely available either. As long as there is no one else working on this - I made AG open source, so anybody could - it’s nothing I would be waiting for.

    i always wished that every daw/sequencer vendors would create something like this
    to lighten the loads of heavy track count templates on their daw product.
    i dont mind trying new tech but can i run this in my daw without using 2nd pc?

    • @AndreasPohl79
      @AndreasPohl79  3 роки тому +2

      You can run it on a singe machine too. People are actually doing this to run Acustica Audio plugins, which are super CPU heavy, to better scale out their hardware. It is currently not designed for this, which is why the UI will probably feel a bit weird. Just disable screen capturing in the server settings.

    I have been having issues with audiogridder. It worked fine for a while but now when i try to pull up a vst instrument or fx inside of audiogridder from the plugin side, it cant connect to the vst plugin. It bounces back and forth from connecting, disconnecting, and then reconnecting in an endless loop. It wants to connect but it seems like something is blocking it. It doesnt matter which daw i use. The same thing happens. i tried changing firewall settings but that didnt help. I use a laptop for the audiogridder plugin, and a windows server for the audiogridder server software. All the vst plugins are stored on the server. The plugin on my laptop is able to see the available vsts to choose from but when i try to load them up, audiogridder can not pull them up.

      @ithrial 2 роки тому +1

      VNC is a separate app that basically allows you to remotely connect to any system that has the VNC client on it as if you were sitting right in front of it with a keyboard and mouse. Its a better solution than Microsoft RDP as those sessions clear out when you log off, but if you're virtually in front of the system, even with out a monitor you can still interact with the system
