From Ruby's back yard you are looking across the bay to the old Subic side of the base. There were actually two bases there, NAS Cubi point and the Subic bay Naval station.
way cool! I told you, You would find homes up there Those homes, where Ruby lived, were officer housing for the guys in charge of the air wing at Cubi (pronounced Qubi) The other large buildings that were vacant. Those buildings were for enlisted housing for E-4 and below usually had four guys to a room Lived in one of those for a couple months till I got off base housing..Each area of the base that had a command ,usually had some officer housing for the guys in charge to be near the main bldg. So there are homes dotted all over that base that may not be in a so called neighborhood Like the hospital that is above Cubi had a couple very nice houses for the Captain and the executive officer tucked in the edge of the jungle.I was stationed at the hospital for 2.5 yrs back in the mid 80's Best Duty I ever had! keep up the good work!
Very nice to imagine what it was like. I currently live in Upper Cubi. Some things changed. The huge buildings were converted into hotels/apartments (the ones he described as condo units). Facilities were still nice and intact (including the parks in the video) back when I was a kid. I could only imagine it during its prime with stories like yours. Cheers!
9:22 now that's beautiful. Only a filipina would invite you in like she did. I work with a lot of guys that were based there and every single one of them said it was the best place to be based in the Navy.
Nice episode, I'm looking to retire in 3 years somewhere in SB, BB, Olongapo, and the surrounds. Visited back in 2017, unfortunately, didn't get a chance to look around.
As someone currently living in Upper Cubi, I wonder what it was truly like living here in those years. The traces of American naval base is still present in some buildings but convertion and development in most erases my memories as a child (when it was pretty evident).
Plenty of "Joe Blakes" in Subic, many places the Japanese occupied had jungle warfare research stations, and they used to breed every known type of poisonous snake.... when Japan surrendered many of the snakes escaped or were let loose....
What is the cost of a semester at the elementary grades, at the International School? I have a son starting in First Grade. Would like long term lease of a two, three or four bedroom unit. God bless. happy Easter.

I lived in Upper Cubi from 1986-87 while my dad was stationed at Subic Bay. Wouldn’t be surprised if one of those homes were the one we lived in.
The US Milary did a great job on building all this property. And who ever purchased this after did preserve most of it. Lots of memories .
I believe that is where the old Cubi Sky club was.

Best Vlogger on UA-cam. I am a huge fan! Thanks Property Club
One barracks building you show ,was a new1968, 1st and 2nd class petty officer barracks, actually had separate rooms instead of large open bays
I miss this place so much, thanks for sharing the views .

You are looking at Old Officer housing.
If you can find some old videos of Cubi point on the web, you will see what it used to look like.
Cubi point so long ago. I was 11 yrs old (when we lived there my navy dad was stationed there). I am now 70 yrs old so figure?
Elena Celeste Wow that is a long time
People need to shy away from these places, they are too old and will turn out to be a money pit.

Hi Jim, idk if you're still interested but Brent's tuition for lower school (grades 1-5) is around $4k-$5k. I just came across for some reason lol.
These homes were married officer housing
You're funny, I can imagine how scared will you be if snake really showed up
Old US Navy family housing gone shabby.
