Like many of you I wasn't sure if the weboost actually works. Talking to many of my friends in the overlanding community, they all recommend the ‪@weboostsignal‬ Signal Amplifier. I picked mine up at ‪@OverlandExpo‬ East a few months ago and haven't gotten a chance to install it until now. It's pretty easy to install and if you've watched any of my other lighting or ‪@Auxbeam‬ installation videos it really isn't that much different. You have three main components. An exterior Antenna which should be firmly mounted to the vehicle. The Power Unit (Signal Amplifier/processor) and an internal antenna which needs to be mounted near your cell phones.
I'm not an Electrical Engineer or a signal expert, but it does seem to work as you will see in the video. Many folks report that even with one bar, they can still send and receive text messages. How it was explained to me by the folks at WeBoost is you have to have some level of signal for the system to work. You can't expect it to work if there is Zero Cellular signal!
During our overland travels and adventures, we often find ourselves in remote locations high up in the mountains, driving down through a valley, or far on a remote beach or backroad far away from the nearest town.
Ultimately this is all about safety and convenience. Although we purposefully try to get away and get "lost", having a cell signal booster will help keep you in touch with loved ones and worst case get in touch with local authorities if and when bad things happen (as long as cell towers are providing some level of service)!
This will not replace a radio or having a GPS emergency device, but it will help you get a signal or message through to others when cellular service is extremely low quality. Again you must have some level of signal in order for the weboost to boost your signal!
In full transparency, I have applied with weboost to be a future brand ambassador of their products, however at the time of filming and publication of this video I am not endorsed, sponsored or affiliated with weBoost in any way and everything you see in the video was bought and paid for by me as a consumer!
    The Build:
For my personal setup, I chose to go with the ‪@ClaytonOffRoad‬ 3.5" Overland Plus Kit. They have a great reputation. James was super helpful when deciding between the HD Springs or the Normal Springs. I'm extremely happy going with the HD springs and know that I'll be able to fully load the Gladiator out in the future with the load carrying capacity to grow! I also went with the ‪@GoRanchoSuspension‬ RS9000XL Shocks.
*** As of production of this video, I'm not partnered, affiliated, or sponsored by any of these companies or brands mentioned. I'm also a card carrying Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot.
