Two important differences between 2017 and 18 click bars are the new non abrasive V split and the lower protection of the safety line. These two upgrades prevent premature wear of the red line
I've been riding the click bar for over a year now and just upgraded to the 2018 edition. One important feature to add is the frontline swivel as well due to the rectangular center tubing. Never twisted lines anymore and always 100% sure your safety works. The complete compatibility to all brands due to different line lengths , pigtails , splitpoint height and release mode on single frontline or 5th line makes this one bar for all kites , and all features combined make it the best bar currently available on the market I believe
The best part of the Ocean Rodeo is that no maintanance required. The bar has openings that flush out debris with water very easy. The Click bar, you need to disassemble the click to clean it and if you do it wrong can damage the system. Press the button to de-power is another disadvantage in the Shift bar with slight nudge with the heel of your hand depower the kite. Both bars do exactly the same.
They should have made it some sort of trigger like a bike rather than a knob. That way you just depower and power up by the click of a tab but than maybe fingers could be hurt in an accident.
The click bar has only two disadvantages, if you are sheeting your kite before every jump this will drive you nuts. Its just to slow.., Second the depower is only 1:1 compared to 1:2 on the trust bar. This means you only have half the depower. This limits the windrange you can comfortably fly your kites. Its not bad, but you have to beare in mind that at 35kts you wont be able to handle a 7m2 if you weight less than 75kg
like really much north bars. only thing what pising me off on them, that grip wears out so fust, that need to kick ass a material chosing man from thats company :))
my friend has two ! click bars, irrelevant of brand ocean redeo - or North Now (duo tone ) this system of depower , and no irating depower rope that awkward to reach,, and for ever wearing out as it bites on to a clam cleat , thou some systems use depower strap, ive have just invested in a 2018 click bar, as its not the cheapest bit of kit! this is a revolution in kitesurfing kit I was dubious of this new system when it first came out , but using a clamcleat system in high winds on a 7m or 9m and can shred a depower rope in one or two sessions, I have had countless times were the depower rope sliding thru clam cleat as ,allways on one position causing the depower rope to wear out
The Ocean Rodeo bar has BALLS on the steering line that shows the setting of the power BALLS up High = low power BALLS down low = powered up
@4:34 little black balls with springs on each steering line just above the floats.
Incredibly awkward guys make it incredibly funny to watch. That walk away at the end was priceless!

Thanks, Hendrik, for the great addition.

Ocean Rodeo might be a little bit heavier but it float on the water with his design while North doesn't float by itself ...
Can u use the Ocean with 5 lines?

Hi there, do you beleive that the 5th line upgrade kit 2017 works on the 2018 bar ?
Hi Fabiano, sorry you really have to ask the North dealer for the right answer.

Should be no problem

Stickshift depower indicator should be on the leader lines
Great bar and great review! Only please let the cameraman shut his mouth🤐
you should get a mic
Can you make the backround music a little louder so we dont hear your voice anymore at all?
