It took me forever to unsub from things like Fairyloot, but I find that if there is ever a book I want that I can just find someone selling that book, so I don't miss it, even though they are gorgeous. I want to do my book log the way you did next year. Hope I remember! It's hard to believe this is your first journal - it looks amazing!
The fomo is tooooo real. I also canceled my twisted retreat. But youre so right for resellers. But then there's always the super popular book that is being sold for so much more than original price 🫠 I'll stay strong though 😂

I have used this journal ... I actually love it! Since I still have some Notebook Therapy journals to use, I went back to them.
Journaling is my creative output too ... I love creating pages every month for my reading journal.
I have set spreads that I add to my reading journal, and ONLY did this when I honed into what works for me. *it took me a while

I really need to do more "fun" spreads and set aside more time to do those along with my monthly ones.
It's definitely an ongoing learning experience of what works and doesn't work for me

@alexbattles hahaha you're welcome! It's really difficult to get out of the fomo and excitement of SEs but I had to be honest with myself that I wasn't getting joy out of them anymore

I absolutely LOVE your moody and divine feminine spreads 🤩 They are so original and, as a serious mood reader also, I made versions of each for my own reading journal with books from my physical tbr (which is way too long 😅🙈)
A side note as you’re tracking and diversifying your reads: “BIPOC/Indigenous” is redundant, as the “I” in BIPOC stands for Indigenous!

Woa, I'm so impressed. I would love to do something like this, I'm just worried I wouldn't follow through. I like the way your brain works! The pi charts are such a good idea!
I was honestly worried about that too, but it's been a great outlet for me. The pie chart idea came from storygraph app where I track my reading!
Stunning journal! I WISH I was artsy, because I want a bullet journal so bad, but it would just be a whole mess haha
@onceuponabookishsteph the only reason I finally decided to do it was changing my mindset from needing it to be "perfect" to seeing it as an individual and personal outlet! I held myself back for years before finally doing it and allowing myself to make mistakes

I'm jealous of people with more 5 star reads!! But then I'm too generous for my low rated books. Soooo many of my 2 or 2.5 star books should be more 1 star 👀 or 3 stars that are more like 2. I'm about to reconsider the way I approach mediocre books moving forward

I feel you on the fomo of all subscriptions boxes they are so addictive I canceled the YA but still holding on to the adult subscription idk maybe one day for me too
@jeanab6953 i had the combo box or else I would've considered keeping the adult book bc I am more likely to read those than the YA. I at least need a break from them and maybe I'll join another waitlist at some point but it's becoming overwhelming for me

I want to be a journal person. They're so cute! I never follow through, though. 😅
It took me a long time to get over having it to be "perfect" but also allowing myself to make things as simple as I need, so that I do continue to use it. If it's too much work, it won't last for me 😂 but I sit down with it 1 maybe 2 days a month to do layouts and just my typical trackers as I finish a book

@midnight-tomes it's hard to not compare journals especially to the ones that are literal perfection, but I just remind myself that's its a personal and individual thing.
