In this video, we wake up early and head to my favorite place , The Rock Shed in Keystone, South Dakota, the best rock shop you will ever find! We have gone to rock shops across the entire country, all the way from Utah to Florida, and I have NEVER come across another rock shop with a better selection or better pricing. Their specimens are always EXTREMELY high quality, and they are ALWAYS priced extremely fair, and their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly! At my shop, I sell local rocks, fossils, rock and wood carvings, and jewelry, and I try to sell only stuff that I collect myself, but for things that i cannot find myself(tiger eye, labradorite, etc.), I always go to the Rock Shed! I cannot physically recommend this place more! If you are ever in the Black Hills or near Keystone, SD and are even remotely into rocks and fossils, this shop is an absolute must!

I found the Rock Shed way back in the day...glad to see it's still around
I frigging wish I was there. Wow that rocks house is the coolest place. I love that . God wish I was there but I'm in a small town called centralia washington.
Thanks for the walk through. Enjoyed
That place was total overload! The mining carts for bin are a nice touch.
Yep, I noticed the mining carts as well. Very nice.
We went by here when we went to south Dakota a couple weeks ago. I really wish we stopped but I guarantee we will be going back. I absolutely love south Dakota.
Very good my friend
I can order from Shawn at the Rock Shed on Wednesday and have it here in Texas on Friday. Great prices and great service. I'm new to this hobby and in a month have spent a thousand dollars already. The Rebel 17 tumbler that I purchased is such a great unit.
We've been there several times, it's fun to see all they have! We had a gold claim just down the road a bit.
Thanks for showing what ur rockyards are like. Wonderful rocks with great variety. A bit different to the ones in Australia.
Thanks for this video. I think I was more excited to visit the Rock Shed than Mt Rushmore. My wife even forgave me for spending so much when she saw the Mexican Lace Agate slabbed out. I would like to see a video on working the fossil concretion rocks. Thanks once again.
Omg, we did indeed visit The Rock Shed while driving to Mount Rushmore, and it was all that you said it would be! Unfortunately, it was a very cold and rainy day so we hardly spent time outside to look at all the rock in the miner's bin, but we did find lots of rocks inside the warm store, and had to ship it home to Honolulu, as we couldn't hand carry anymore gems! Thank you, Theo, for this awesome tip!
Wow, love windiw shopping along with you guys
I just ordered some stuff from them the other day, great prices. Order is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I will order from them again. Thanks for sharing this very cool place.
What the heck is it with the helicopters? I am now convinced, you are from a super secret society of stone masons, 🤣
Love the rock shed!! Awesome place!
Also recommend the rock shop in Custer. A very fun place to shop.
Thank you, for bring me along with you, to a place that is near and dear to my heart, I've ordered a million things from there, I never knew you could go there.
Love this place.
Thanks for showing us this. Beautiful stuff. Honestly like a kid in a candy store! Love it.
I was there and I bought a huge piece of Rose Quartz. I love that place too!!!!
Ragnar ❤️ Mt. Rushmore
I buy all my tumbling grit from Shawn...
Excellent business the rock shed is!!
I hit the Rock Shed up at least 3 times a year. About 25 years ago, my first time there I bought 50 pounds of Tee Pee Canyon agate. Went back a couple months later and ended up spending $1500. They have the best prices on tumbling grit.
Theo, I am so glad you showed this. They have a fantastic looking starter cab machine and all the supplies I use. I will put in a good word for you when I call them. I may be able to stop on my trip back home from LV Green river and Montana Havagudun bud and stay safe.
Hey Theo, I'm catching up on old videos. Nice video tour. It's the next best thing to actually being there when you can't get there. I am a frequent buyer there. Thanks.
this is an amazing place 😍
What an awesome place!!
Planning a road trip now!! Very cool place. Thanks.
It's petty damn cool
How wonderful, it's heaven
Yes it's a pretty cool place. The scenery is breathtaking also. Been to the black hills several times.
Aloha from Honolulu! My boyfriend and I will be visiting South Dakota in a few days to hike their National Parks and Black Hills and I came across your video on Rock Shed. We will definitely stop there as we just discovered crystals, rocks, minerals and fossils, and the joy they bring to our lives! Mahalo for this awesome video, Theo!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Theo: I got my first rock tumbler for Christmas (thanks to a wonderful husband). Thank you for sharing this video about the Rock Shed. We are definitely going to visit. Happy Tumbling!
That's funny that you mention your tumbler; I have a video coming out next week on getting the best result from tumbling Stones! That info may be of use to you!😊 and definitely check out the Rock shed for some tumbling rough; they have some absolutely wonderful variety and pricing on pre-sized and weighed bags specifically for tumbling!😊
I haven't been there yet, but I order almost all my tumbling and polishing supplies from The Rock She'd. My Lot-O and Lortone QT66. Lots of tumbling stone. Some big pieces of Mexican Crazy Lace that sliced up beautifully! If I go to the Black Hills someday, The Rock She'd #1, Mount Rushmore #2! Thanks for this mouthwatering video Theo!
They have some absolutely wonderful material for cutting and tumbling! Their Mexican lace agate is some phenomenal stuff for cabbing! And that definitely won't be hard to do; the Rock shed is only three miles away from mount Rushmore! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Love rock shops like this. Reminds me of Ron COLEMAN'S rock shop in Arkansas.
Amazing!
I am just 10 months late watching this lol. It was before I discovered your channel.
Crazy I go to the black hills almost every year and I’ve never seen this rock shop before. Looks like they have some good stuff. If you ever are in Custer, I’d recommend going to Ken’s Minerals. I don’t know how the prices compare to this but they seem reasonable to me and they also have an incredible collection of museum quality specimens.
theo ,youre now a adopted australian stramthelights are at sharkbay w.a. if you whant to look see.
Way far away from there in Washington by olympia and tacoma
I was at the Rock Shed 3 weeks ago...I wanted a piece of everything🤣
I see pink quartz in every rock shop video. yet Ive never seen anything you can do with it.
Hi! Great video! I am heading out to the Black Hills next week and am soooo excited to go to this shop!
Can you tell me if you know of any places to stop (from MPLS driving West to the Black Hills) that would have good Geode hunting? I would love to find some along the way. I’m new to rock hunting so keeping it simple for now. 😊 Thank you!
Him knowing all the name's and kinds. Me look at all the rock's ooooo a blue one
They’re labelled...
👍👍👍
That labradorite you had in your hand was insane!!!!!!! That's my spirit stone, and clearly yours too since you're so drawn to it! Labradorite is such a magnanimous entity!!!
Yes this is the best place, I love the selection and prices are fair. Have ordered online and have been there.
Amazing place. I wonder how long it take me from upper Michigan to get there. It would be worth the ride. Thanks for sharing !
I am not sure; I am always coming from the opposite direction (the drive from Montana is about 6 hours). It is definitely worth the drive though!😊
3 best places/shops:
1) The Rock Shed, Keystone, SD
2) Kinglsey North, Norway, Michigan
3) The Gem Shop, Inc., Cedarburg, Wisconsin
I'm sure ur no stranger to people making rude comments from time to time .I hope this doesn't come across to bad, but u unconsciously laugh a very fake laugh often , it is odd , we all have our quirks im no different, maybe its a nervous reaction to performing on camera ,maybe u do it all the time ,,whatever 5he reason is I don't know, but it makes u sound like squirrly unsure Waco. The people that care about u won't tell u , I think it would help u Socially on and off camera to stop , be confident, u seem like a nice guy ,and I enjoy ur channel , hope this helps more than hurts , keep up the great work otherwise ur a talented carver ,sorry 4 being rude ttyl
That would be like an alcoholic walking into a liquor store for me
Now I know where that old expression came from. Which one? Guess.
