Yikes! That guy is a weirdo! 💀 Thanks for having me on your channel, I had an amazing time and I hope everyone finds the info helpful. Our Kickstarter has been such a learning experience... and a real nail-biter! We're currently about 50% funded half-way through the campaign. The link is in your description if anyone wants to check it out (the video on our KS page is pretty fun).
Great video and cool game - backed! I love that Kickstarter video, especially the "Yippie-Ki-Yay" line. In my household it's a pretty hot topic to say whether Die Hard is a "Christmas movie" Lol.
9:14 the moment we stopped trying to "mine" videos for ideas and started treating them like professional instructions, our game dropped a quarter of its production cost, a quarter of its set up/pack up and became infinitely more skill based and strategic. It’s really hard to take advice that removes something you have invested in emotionally, physically or financially. Once we did though, it was like the choices were obvious and right in front of us the whole time! The BGD industry is uniquely open and helpful.
Yes it can be tough, but so worth it! It’s super easy to get attached to certain ideas, so it’s good to get that outside perspective on what you should maybe cut.
Thanks for sharing this; really interesting to hear the story / process behind this and the valuable advice. I also backed the project and I'm looking forward to giving several copies as early Christmas gifts!
@@jared_bangs oh wow, that’s awesome, Jared! I’m sure Nick will be very happy to hear that :) I think it will be a fun addition to Christmas traditions. Thanks for watching, commenting and being a member 🙌
What a cool video... love it. I think it might be neat if you had something like a QR code that says "scan here to find more ways to play the game!" to show players that there's other ways to play, but it won't junk up your rulebook.
Hey! It's Nick from the video, I think that's a really good idea, and I think it makes a lot of sense. I'm not in LOVE the current single-player rules for the game, and think it would be nice to have the extra time between now and when it's printed to perfect them. Also... from a business perspective, it's a good way to encourage people to visit our site, and learn more about us, and maybe join our contact list.
Hey Pam! I'd live to do a 1 on 1 in the near future with you on the board game I've been making for the last 4-5 years. My only problem is that I have crippling ADHD and I've completed everything except the rulebook. Would that be a problem, or is that something you can help with?
@@rileymcphee9429 not a problem at all! We can talk about whatever you like and I can help you with any aspect of your design. Sometimes just talking things through with someone can help unlock things.

Oooh this is the start of a great video series! And I do think it will be a series. 👊🏾👍🏾
Thanks Leo! I’m glad you liked it. Turning this into a series could be fun!! You want to be my next guest?? 😆
