They had played 3 nights in Buenos Aires and as a result Joey had no voice. In the film 'End of the century' mentioned the topic... CJ asked to Joey once why he didn't say anything to Johnny about to come out to play with the band, when he couldn't really do it for his health.
Poor Joey, but pure fucking props to CJ, what a job he does here on backing vocals. It's sad how Joey didn't feel compelled enough to tell Johnny he wasn't up for the gig, and of course CJ was shot down by Johnny for trying to ask Joey why he didn't stand up to him. Sad really, but big fucking respect to CJ
joey also could’ve took care of himself, johnny didn’t give him time off cuz whenever he did joey wouldn’t rest. he would party hard and do albums, not take the time to rest, but it’s still very sad and props to CJ!
