My favorite character was Chief Gilliespie because of his sense of humor and the way he managed his police force. All of the characters were good and the actors were great portraying the roles. I liked the diversity of the show and variety of actors, subjects.

I really enjoyed this video. I loved the show. The best character in the show was Carroll O Connor simply because he was the best actor. It is a shame what happened to his adopted son on the show. That was a young life that was taken too soon. But every actor was very talented and I was happy to see that they all did well for themselves.

Carrol O’Conner showed his versatility In a racist sitcom as Archie Bunker who hated black people. Then I seen him in a sitcom : “ In the heat of the night” where he was totally the opposite. Marrying Denise Nicoles a Black woman it actually made me as a kid look at people more closely and differently. I realize many white people weren't as racial as I thought they were. I grew up in the mid- Fifties and 60’s during the Civil rights era. When Rosa Parks refuse to go to the back of the Bus we're The coloered people normally rode. This was a hellava time in American history for me.

There were several semi-regulars omitted...the DA, the judge and Dee, who was also another cop and Harriet's husband, who was incarcerated, Bill's niece and Lois Nettleton, who played Bill's love interest in the early stages of the show. Still comes on daily in the Atlanta area.
