Just got one for Christmas and you're 100% correct, the manual tells you basically nothing so off to UA-cam University! Thanks for the great detailed video
THANK YOU for the thorough walk through!!! I've been confused on HOW to prepare the robot to MOP! I now have to look and see what I've done, b/c I recall only seeing ONE bin attachment, which looking at this video appears to be the MOP bin. I have never used the MOP feature. I've only been using the sweep and vacuum. It has been working fine and emptying itself. Now, I know how to MOP with this thing and the APPROPRIATE setup for MOP vs sweep and vacuum. Thank you SO MUCH!!!!
My son got me the 2 in 1 shark vacuum and mop robot. I have to admit I was very skeptical about how well it would work but I love love love it. Best gift ever. I'm not very tech savvy but it was easy to get started and the videos available are wonderful. Great addition to the family. Love love love it. I can't thank my son TJ enough.
That’s awesome! So glad I could help! Ours has been renamed Bob by the kiddo and he has become a member of the family lol. We say hi to him when he goes to work in the morning lol!
We call out Shark Matrix 2 in 1. robo vacuum 'Rosie'.. Rosie was named after the Jetson's fully autonomous robot maid that clobbered Mr Spaceley with a pineapple upsidedown cake. She had attitude when she clobbered Mr Spaceley. George Jetson was fired, but, was later rehired when Mr Spaceley said that was the best ever pineapple upsidedown cake that he had been clobbered with. There was another reason (besides great pineapple upsidedown cake) that gave MORE worth regarding Rosie. Rosie and Hank had mutual robo affection. Hank was the building maintenance supervisor handyman robot.
@@DadGotThis I knew a clip of Rosie was out here somewhere.. I think it might have been episode 1 of first season. ua-cam.com/video/8SHRFDD-1UE/v-deo.html
Thanks for a great informational video. I just received mine today and I'm trying to set it up. I agree, their directions are very minimal, but your video was extremely helpful. Thanks!
I got mine today from Amazon Prime Day and He's (Botty McBot Face) currently charging. My husband is a chemical hauler and his truck was named (Trucky McTruck Face) years ago so it fits! I'm so thankful for this video as I too thought the instruction was kinda light. But, you've given me the confidence to use the app and let er rip! As long as I can keep my Husky from Screaming at it, Peeing on it, or trying to surf-we'll be good to go. Thank You, Sir!
Just received this for Christmas. Why does it take 3 hours to charge? I tells me it will take 240 minutes to clean which I thought was pretty good but that did not include all the times it takes to charge. I am I doing something wrong? Also it Errors #2 several times. I actually cut about 1/2" off the brushes. That seems to help.
Hello, I have 2 stairsteps in my house that it has to climb. Do you have any idea what a ramp should be like? There are, for example, dog ramps that are about 44cm wide and 160cm long. Could something like that work? Is the app updated regularly so that in the future you can, for example, map two levels of the house? Thanks for the help
Not sure if it could climb a ramp. I think it could looking at how aggressively it goes over our stool bases. As far as updates according to apple they have made 9 updates on the app in the last month. One of them Shark said was a major update about mapping but I do not know exactly what changed.
@@johnshearer9660 I was going crazy trying to figure this out I only got one attachment too (the mop/vacuum) I think they did upgrade it! So now we don’t have to switch the attachment and it self empties
I want it to travel over carpet (areas labeled in app as having Carpet zones, but not no go) to get to a bathroom that needs mopped but is isolated by carpet, and start mopping the tile once there. I can’t figure out a way to get it to do that. I tell it to mop the bathroom, it just goes right back to its dock. Any solutions?
Pick it up and put it in the bathroom? I think the issue is that once the mop attachment is on it will be dropping water as it goes. Over carpet that would be bad.
Same here, I have lots of area rugs and thought it would just travel over carpets and know to not dispense liquid unless it was in the areas with hard floor but I guess not😪 my only success so far is sending it to a room and picking it up once it exists the doc, placing it in the room with hard floor, then resuming. Kind of disappointing, had I known I probably wouldn’t have purchased as I have lots of area rugs, best for folks with little to no rugs unless you don’t mind picking it up and delivering it to the room you need.
Yeah, I don’t think it has an “on/off” for the mopping. But it doesn’t leak when in its dock even if it’s filled. I think it’s the dragging motion that stops the water. Do you have carpet zones marked? With those is there no path for it to take without crossing a rug? If there is a path and the area rugs are marked as carpet zones it should be able to route a path.
@@DadGotThis Yes I think you’re right, i have two long runners down my hallway and the carpet areas are marked so once it exits the doc it looks to plan its path and if it knows it will have to cross carpet it just goes back to the doc, I only had success this morning with picking it up and putting in the room with hard floor before it went back to its doc!
@lexil34 makes sense. That is a definite down side. I don’t have that situation in my house. There is always a path without carpet in my house. I wish I knew that so I could have pointed it out to people.
I came here to find out where the cleaning liquid goes, how to remove the dust bin and replace the pad because nowhere in the Shark documentation is this explained. My Shark Matrix Plus 2in1 is named Mr. Clean.
@@DadGotThishello could you please help i m using this without app (since i m in the country where app doesnt work). The wet mop is not working however the pad and water is there. How to start wet mopping manually
Tried the Shark matrix but found the Shark app does not allow scheduling of individual rooms. You can label the rooms once it creates a map but the app does not allow the scheduling the individual rooms/areas. This was a deal breaker and we decided to return it. Also had many connectivity issues.
I can see where that would be an issue. I haven’t had any issues with connection on mine. I just have mine setup to clean the whole house at a time every day and that works for my life. However I could see where the need to do certain rooms at certain times could be useful.
I watched your video and finally made a decision to purchase the matrix plus 2in1 an upgrade from my ai vacmop pro from shark as well. Got it off Amazon but they sent me the AI ultra 2in1 rv2610waca (Canadian version) apparently. Is there a difference, is it a totally different model from the matrix plus 2in1? Don’t want to return and reorder only to get the same one again…
The kiddo has renamed him “Bob” and he is a part of the family now. We all say hi to him as he works lol. It’s been great, no issues and the dust level in the house is so much better!
@@DadGotThishello. I watched another video review of this thing where they said the mop feature is so-so because it can go onto your carpets sometimes even if you have it mapped as a no go area. Have you encountered this? Or perhaps you don’t have hardwood that turns into a carpeted space when you get to the family room?
Hey quick question. Does this model support multiple levels? I live in a 3 story town house and I was hoping to place the docking unit on my main floor then just carry the the robot itself to other floors. Would this be possible and supported through the app?
I do not believe you need to do anything. When you plug the mop accessorie in it knows to go into mop mode. You know it is in mop mode because it asks you to pick the level of the clean vs when in vac mode it just says clean. As far as it knowing what to not mop you would set up “carpet zones” in the app so it knows not to mop there. To do that go to “edit map” click on zones and carpet zones will be an option.

Looks like we need a real robo vac that can actually do steam mop. Around my kitchen, the stain are really tough to remove even with just manual mop.
That would be cool. I just have mine do the matrix mop in the tough areas and it seems to do ok.
Hi please tell me if you think you can use this without wifi? Want this for a cabin high in mountains and wifi can be very spotty.
Yes you just don’t get features like scheduled cleaning and some other functions like suction power. You would need to use the buttons to send it out.
What model number do you have? The prices vary so much with different models.
According to my app it’s this model number.
