I also remember playing Parasite Eve 2 and Alone in the Dark 4 and having no clue about how to proceed (I didn’t speak English back then)

Ah good ol spread sheet simulator, fun times. The absolute challenge of trying to evolve to a certain digimon my god.
Imo the game absolutely refuses to let you evolve the digimon into something you want. You are getting your digi basically at random, with no clue of who you are getting, and you better like it.
Funnily enough, I think its part of the charm, as it "forces" you to work with what you get, and you end up with unexpected faves, like my Andromon who only had a single attack but carried me like half a game.
@@Shireke01 I somehow evolved my Meramon into Metal-Mamemon eventhough I never met any requirements like... what the hell. And on top of that I could never replicate this process anymore because Meramon listed to be incapable to evolve into Metal-Mamemon. I was in complete lost.

I love digimon world, been playing this since I was a child. Never gets too old, it's still gold to me.
I first played the 2003 world game and compared to this they were vastly different but they both give me weird childhood memory goosebumps. Man ps1-ps2 era was such a great gaming era to experience some of the best games and actual effort thay was put into games.

In a way, i liked it, but didnt go farther than a fifth of the game. That shit was either hard or very obscure.
i remember playing this game as a kid-- didn't get very far. my last memories of it were watching that slime monster take a shit or something like that.
I think when I was a kid I never really understood this game , I think I've never actually beaten it even remotely and the best Digimon I got and was massively proud of was that magma guy.
I kinda wanna know how often I restarted it or how long I just played without even ever finishing it x3

This game was not for kids:
your digimon literally dies, over and over, across the game, sometimes by natural causes, and other times by not so natural ones... that, plus having an entire bathroom system and a branching complex evolution system, made it harder than most (if not all) of pokemon games and the like.
That's why I respect this game, and a bit the whole franchise (as a non-fan)

I let my digimon shit the entire training yard, after it turned to Numemon or ... Sukamon, haha. I let him eat the entire shit buffet. Conclusion ... its not a replacement for food. Or I fed to it my entire inventory of meat and all the stuff I own just to shut it up being all the time hungry, it was hungry after 30sec. and feeding him took like 12min.
