They have to sit there maintaining their composure while a metaphorical storm cloud becomes almost visible above their heads. It happens to everyone at some point, being on both sides of the situation.
It was a final against Ronnie that left Ding with his eye twitch ever since. Ding's head was literally spinning at the end and he thought the match was over while Ronnie still needed another frame, he got up visibly disorientated to congratulate Ronnie in real time and Ronnie had to explain to him the match wasn't over.
He's never understood the gift he has been given for snooker. He's treated his entire career like it's been a real pain in the Rs. I fear he will never understand and it's such a shame 😢
Making it look easy isn't much value to be a genius at. Getting it right more often than anybody else, winning the big tournaments and being innovative, resetting the standards - now THAT comes close to genius.
1:24 As a TV viewer you can always guarantee that when a player has to make a really exceptional shot some prat in the control room will take away the overhead view, which is always the best, and give the viewer a pointless close-up of the player and a camera angle that doesn’t allow you to see all you need to see. This is why I stopped watching TV snooker many years ago.
Ronnie is the greatest genius snooker player to be born, while the rest of us have to visualise each shot in sequence Ronny sees the whole table and pattern of play in an instant. We play 2 or 3 shots ahead, he sees the whole table instantly.

I never watch Snooker anymore. I have great disdain for the habit of zooming in the opponent's face when a good shot or fluke is played. It's tacky and disrespectful and I simply cannot abide it anymore.
