I had an 88 RS 4-door hatch, bought it from Acura of Beverly Hills (honestly, they cut me the best price). I had the car for 15 years and it ran like a champ. I got it up to 110 mph one time on a run to Laughlin. Had to back off as it started to shimmy because of my tires, I had replaced the original Yokohama's. The new tires I had were not as good. Later on went back to the Yokohama's. The 1.6l 4 cylinder engine had a lot of rev & torque to it. I could get off the line fast with it.
The best thing about these cars was their handling, they stuck to the road and could corner like mad. Steering was tight. I had a lot of fun driving around backside of Palos Verdes on the curves. Yes, I lived in SoCal when I had this car.
I owned an '89 Acura Integra and used to drive it at 140 MPH on the interstate at night. Never got ticketed. I have fond memories of this car. Great machine.
Nibir Nice!
Had a 89 4 door. 5 speed. The car was one of my favorites! Best built engine of any car I have owned. Sadly the bodies did not wear nearly as well (rust) up in the northeast winters. Thanks for taking me down memory lane!
Man i wanna drive this car. My mom used to drive 89 integra RS. I think this was my first car that I fell in love w/
You put me in a time machine. That was identical to my car. Seats were actually Black and Tan. Backseat was only used for two minutes once per week. My favorite car car. A blast to drive.
I had a blue 89 ls power sun roof and all power everthing. 5 speed d16a1 black top. And a 88 rs 5 speed d16a1 black top. I learned the ways of the clutch with these two cars. Totally regret selling them.
Elvis Alonso awesome man!
Just bought a 89 5 min ago!👍👊👌😃😎
carlos arellano sweet!
A 1st gen Integra. Such a rare car that any one Integra fan will ever see nowadays. To still be able to have one this day in age is a true collectible item. I’m surprised that car survived to this day. Listening to the engine it sounds like the beginning of the Integra’s racing heritage. Even though it’s a stock car for an old timer it don’t sound bad at all. Some quick fixes and I’m sure it’ll be back to good.
I had one , great car.
I have an 89 Integra RS its my first car and I've had it for 5 years and don't plan on getting rid of it love the little hatch to death
same, I've got a 89 Integra LS (automatic transmision). little bit of rust and the buttons for the popup lights is worn out, but it's going to stay with me even after it'll cost more to fix than its worth. I get offers on it whenever a car person comes by.
3rd gear is nuts imo I thought it had vtec when got mines .
I had an '88 RS - lots of good memories.
i used to have a black 89 integra, was my favourite car to drive, sucks you cant find good cars anymore
Good platform. I have a black '89 about the same condition. I also have the same problem as you do with cars. I have about 20 cars between my house and my parents. Some cool stuff though, a MK2 Golf, MK3 Jetta, MK4 Jetta VR6, five CB7 Honda Accords, 99 Civic with a D16 Y8 VTEC swap, 99 Hyundai Tiburon⬅️ "that's my daily" 95 Ford f150 4X4 with 302, a parts f150 with an extra good 302, 1989 Prelude with 4 wheel steer just to name a few. Just wish I had more time money space and ambition to work on my collection! I want to build the MK4 VR6 engine with turbo and swap into the MK2 Golf.
That’s an awesome collection man!
Dude u should have way more subscribers! nice review!
That was my first cool car. I still have a rear spoiler, k&n air filter, front strut tower brace and rear suspension brace
Carl Jeremie such great cars
I love your videos bro keep them coming
Sounds nice for an old integra
I have a 1988 Acura Integra RS 5 door.1.6L dual overhead cam d16a1 I guess this is the USA version of the Zc. correct me if I'm wrong. I might pick up a 2 door 1989 soon.
so exited to be getting one
Awesome!
I had one. Bad second gear synchro eventually turned it into a trail bomber. It lasted 1 day at that point
My second car - was the most reliable, cheapest to run and fun car.
My first car 😢
Me too! Turned 16 in 1996 and got an 89 LS Integra 5 speed. I was a fool for ever getting rid of it.
This model was sold in the UK as a Honda as a 5 door hatchback only. I thought that these were an incredibly cool car with it's pop up headlamps. Very rare now. I managed to spot one many years ago:

Sweet
The headliner coming apart is due to the rear windshield washer fluid leaking on the top of the headliner that's what destroys all of them
My son found a 88!!! 124k miles.. gotta change the belts. Cant find no videos on the tube..
I recently bought an 88 2 dr hatch and been trying to find vids on the car, the guage cluster doesnt work and wanna do it properly, got any recommendations?
@@josephlupercio5811 we actually been taking it to mechanics that work on classic cars when we have any issues. Had a Air conditioner issues it wasn't blowing cold enough. Door latch was stuck that let's air into the car.
Now we gotta take out the Ac Evaporator to acid wash and clean any old gunk that's been sitting on it for the blower to blow through more freely.
Can’t find one without busted lights on the left lmao
Old man Wunder 😁
HiRevz Media mines even busted don’t worry
Have one. Great car but, where is the obdo?
Turbo charging these cars is kind of a bitch bevause you can't tune the old obd0 ecu's. Gotta convert to obd1 and that can be kind of pricey for the wiring harness connector/converter.
How she running? How much boost? Be gentle with her, those D16A1 engines can only handle so much boost before blowing something up.
I turboed my 89 with an fmu and 6 psi. Ran great for 100k until it started spitting oil out of the exhaust lol
Did the AC work good? I’m getting one and the only “major” issue with it is the AC.
I have one with AC and it's great. Just makes it really slow when it's on.
Looks like crap 💩
