When you parked the brilliance control all the way to minimum and the sound became very full-range, it immediately sounded like the Electro-Harmonix Hot Tubes pedal with the tone control switched out of circuit. (The EHX HT has a tone control in-out switch) 👍

Thanks for watching! I've never tried the EHX Hot Tubes, but yes, as you've noticed with the brilliance all the way down it sounds very full range super fat!

I think low output is by default. Had to crank level all the way up on my pedal too. Even after replacing capacitators (was very noisy).
