    Jay-Z bought a lot of project buildings around Brooklyn just to give back to his neighborhood and the rental rates are much lower than the government rates. He doesn't make any money out of it after all costs but it's simply a caring gesture for his community.

      @@TheFeliciakelley If that was a Tax write off, why don't the politicians do it? It's immature to think that every situation has to have a winner AND loser. It's honestly mind-blowing to think in this age that instead of finding more mutually beneficial situations, instead it's the cavemen mentality. Let me put this point to you, Lets say it's true, it was a TAX write-off, was there anybody negatively impacted? It's Legal firstly, secondly if it's cheaper for the residents I'm sure they wouldn't complain. Thirdly, in proportion between his bank account and mine, the difference would be should I buy the new iPhone or not, the impact to his financials (paid to tax or not) would be something to think and weigh but ultimately not lose sleep over.
      I honestly can't see any major cons. In fact I see Pros from left to right. The best being how he used the laws, to whether for publicity or not, to indirectly shove it to the government. And to be a broken record, Tax write-offs were created FOR this very purpose. It's like your mom saying fine you can go jam another hour if you can pick your sister up from school instead of her walking back alone, when she wanted you to put out the trash.

    I think Jay is finally being the artist he’s always wanted to be. He’s clearly stated in his music that he sold out and made pop records on purpose. “I sold 5 mil and ain’t been rhyming like common sense” I know it’s early but this album will be looked at as another classic in his catalog.

    • @King24Fahd
      @King24Fahd 7 років тому +11

      Lool Jay has never 'sold out and made pop records on purpose'.. he's not referencing making pop music, he's referencing not making completely 'conscious hip hop'; the one dimensional sounds hip hop... you have to include the full line for the right context.. Moment of Clarity; ' Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense/But I did 5 mill' - I ain't been rhyming like Common since'

    • @smwhtunknown
      @smwhtunknown 7 років тому +5

      Dude, you obviously have never listened to Jay Z albums all the way through. He’s the same EXACT, you cannot name a single Jay Z album that didn’t have at least 3-4 conscious songs on it. People just tend to listen to whatever’s popular like Tom Ford on MCHG, but didn’t listen to Nickels and Dimes Ana grasps the concept he was giving. Same with everyone falling in love with Hello Brooklyn on AG but sleeping on I Know. He’s the same man, I hate how people who aren’t truly fans and don’t listen to his catalog goes “he’s different now”, not true.
