Great stuff, @Sheriff, thanks. Love the commentary text. At 15:03, when you are dropping on the enemy plane (doing "the 109 classic"), i see you are deploying flaps momentarily. Why is that?
He is at the top of his spiral/hammerhead and low on energy, so he is deploying a touch of flaps to give himself a bit more control at low speeds until he rolls over. Its very satisfying to do, but I ha e a hard time maintaining control for the first few seconds, by which point I am usually at equal alt as my opponent. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
@@nhaupt21 more precisely I am at low airspeed. I drop flaps to stay in control of the aircraft in these conditions. A little slower and the 109 is uncontrollable. The art is to let the nose drop on its own, but to guide its direction and to avoid getting to slow. If you have trouble in the first seconds, you startthe drop prolly too late and missed the moment where you need to let the nose drop. Also the distance to the enemy needs to be sufficient ofc
Well fought, you use my favorite the 109 cleverly, accelerating, climbing! get your apponent into a low energy state , and then pouncing! Il-2 graphics are marvelous! (so realistic)
The late versions of the DB600 series had the highest displacements among aircraft engines. V-12 engines also sound great in general, so a very big v-12 is going to sound the part
In this sortie i always knew where i was without looking at the map since i never really left the area around helmond. Well until the end. In this case i used the map to see how many enemies are reported around helmond airfield. (Red number next to the blue icon) But other than that yes. I spend countless hours on this part of the rheinland map and i know most places.
Its always baffling how good in cockpit sound design is in this game espec in comparison to war thunder which is same game family the engine, the wind, the fuselage creaking under g force, the changes in rpm

Echt schön! Schon krass, ich schau deine Videos jetzt echt schon 4 oder 5 Jahre... wild, wie die Zeit vergeht
Another great video. It's cool to see your thought process sometimes, very much like a light version of your decisions in the making series
I really like your solo videos. It showcases your skill and decision making. Thanks for still posting while holding down the dad and husband life! 😂
love those voxelated bumpy ground-surfaces
I really dislike the high grass in the game (even when set to low)
@@SheriffsSimShack Yes, it looks so much better without it.
Its great youre back! Keep the videos coming!
Thx. We will see, but this one was fun
I prefer it when you are flying solo. Thanks.
You are an apex predator in he BF-109.
Do you think he can get as good as Han Joachim Marsille

Good info, thank you, both!
Very nice flight man 🙂Please can you make some video with P-51 Mustang or FW-190 D-9?
Eventually I will fly them again. But I already made many video with these two.
i love the bf109s!

You haven't lost yout touch, have you. Nice work, wish I had your SA.
0:44 that poor 190! Avenge it!
nice job and nice SA as usual
Thx
Nooby here: Whats meant with SA?

Great video!
Wow! That BF-109 sounds angry at engine start up.

Instead of SA, we say Sita. It's not official. But it's such a clear, unmistakable term.
Good show!
Glad you enjoyed it
6:43 is navigating by landmarks second nature you? You keep where you are the back of your mind so you need only a moment to look at the map?

Do you prefer the 109 when going “lone wolf” (instead of the 190…Anton and Dora included)?
That depends a little on the time frame. But yes especially late war the 109 is the easier aircraft to fly. But the Dora would be still fine.

If the situation was reversed and the p 51d was being chased, could the bf 109g catch up to the p 51d in an upward spiral ?
yes
Wouldn’t have to spiral that’s it’s strength. [At least with P-47s Idk how well Mustangs climb, but I believe him]
It’s weakness is the turn fight with later war allied aircraft. That’s why he uses superior altitude for kinetic boom and zoom attacks.

Je cherche un gamer français qui puisse m'expliquer si il existe des versions récentes de IL2 qu'on peut faire tourner sur Windows 10 ou 11 ?
I haven't played Il2 in a while. Have they changed the sounds because I feel like it's different!
There were quite a few changes. Some for the better, some worse. In my book the db 605 sounds a little too "pneumatic" and not like a piston engine.
Also, what do you set your convergence to for the 109?
400m

God, I hope your throttle work with cars IRL isn't as bad as this. Your repair bills for engine and brakes must be through the roof.
In that case I am so glad that it's 1st not real life and 2nd its an war plane with limited life time.
